Berceni Stadium is a football stadium in Berceni, Ilfov County, Romania. The stadium holds 2,700 people. The home was the ground of second division side ACS Berceni until 2016, the Stadionul Berceni stage three group matches at the 2011 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship.

Berceni is a commune in the southeastern part of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, composed of a single village, Berceni. The commune is located at the southern edge of Bucharest, about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the city center, to which it is connected by the Berceni Road and the DJ401 county road. On its northwestern side, the commune abuts the Berceni neighborhood of Bucharest, while on its southeastern side it abuts Giurgiu County. From 1957 to 2016, Stadionul Berceni was the home ground for the football club ACS Berceni. In the summer of 2016, the team moved to Buftea after clashing with the local administration of Berceni.

Copăceni is a commune in Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, established in 2005 when it was split off from 1 Decembrie. It is composed of a single village, Copăceni.

Jilava Prison (Romanian: Penitenciarul București–Jilava) is a prison located in Jilava, a village south of Bucharest, Romania.

The Jilava massacre took place during the night of November 26, 1940, at Jilava Prison, near Bucharest, Romania. Sixty-four political detainees were killed by the Iron Guard (Legion), with further high-profile assassinations in the immediate aftermath. It came about halfway through the fascist National Legionary State and led to the first open clash between the Guard and conducător Ion Antonescu, who ousted the Legion from power in January 1941.

Tudor Arghezi (named for a Romanian writer) is a metro station in Bucharest, Romania. It was opened on 15 November 2023, and is the newest terminus of the M2 Line from Pipera. Unlike the other stations on the Bucharest Metro, this one was made by the local government of Sector 4 to support the development of the area. The tender for the design and construction of the station was launched in September 2019, and the contract was awarded in April 2020 to a consortium led by the company Somet. The construction was worth 50 million euros.

1 Decembrie is a commune in the south of Ilfov County, Muntenia, Romania, composed of a single village, 1 Decembrie. It also included Copăceni village until 2005, when it was split off to form a separate commune. It has a population of 8,206, of which 8,067 (96.08%) are Romanians and 263 (3.84%) are Roma.Originally named Copăcenii de Sus, in the 1930s the village changed its name to Regele Ferdinand, in memory of King Ferdinand of Romania. After the Communist takeover in mid-1940s, the name was changed to 30 Decembrie (December 30), to commemorate the day when the country became a republic in 1947. In 1996, following the Romanian Revolution, the name was changed to 1 Decembrie (December 1) - the day when the Kingdom of Romania was united with Transylvania in 1918.

Berceni, formerly known as Depoul IMGB (IMGB Depot, in English) is a metro station in Bucharest, Romania. It is the southern terminal station of Bucharest Metro Line M2 and it is the only aboveground metro station of Bucharest.This station is in the suburbs of Bucharest, straddling the line between the capital city and the commune of Popești-Leordeni in Ilfov County. It was opened on 24 January 1986 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Piața Unirii.

Jilava is a commune in Ilfov county, Muntenia, Romania, near Bucharest. It is composed of a single village, Jilava. The name derives from a Romanian word of Slavic origin (Bulgarian жилав žilav (tough), which passed into Romanian as jilav) meaning "humid place". In this commune there is an operating prison and also the Fort 13 Jilava.

The Battle of the Argeș took place during the Romanian Campaign of World War I.on 1 December 1916. The battle was fought along the line of the Argeș River in Romania between Austro-German forces of the Central Powers and Romanian forces with the Russian imperial forces.

Vărăști is a commune located in Giurgiu County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of two villages, Dobreni and Vărăști.

Dimitrie Leonida, formerly known as IMGB is a metro station in southern Bucharest, Romania, on Line 2. The station was originally built in order to transport workers to the Kvaerner IMGB (literally: Heavy Machinery Factory, Bucharest) steelworks. Even though this purpose is still served today to an extent, the area around the steelworks has developed residentially, and therefore is used by commuters who work in the city centre of Bucharest. The station was opened on 24 January 1986 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Piața Unirii to Depoul IMGB.The station received its current name in 2009, after the engineer Dimitrie Leonida.
