Texel International Airport (ICAO: EHTX) is a small airport located 3.5 NM (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) north northeast of Den Burg on the island of Texel in the north of the Netherlands. It has a customs service to handle international flights making it an international airport, though no scheduled international flights take place from the airport as the name might suggest. Because of this, it has no IATA code assigned to it. The airfield is mainly used by small piston engine aircraft, but turboprops such as the Fokker 50 and small jets such as the Cessna Citation can also land at Texel. A lit platform for helicopters is also available. The biggest aircraft ever at Texel Airport was the Fokker 100, the biggest helicopter was a Mil Mi-26. One of the main activities on Texel Airport is skydiving. The island itself is a popular tourist destination especially during summer and so a lot of private pilots come to the island for recreation. There is also a small museum showing the history of aviation on the island.

Bargen is a hamlet in the northwest Netherlands, on the island and in the municipality of Texel, North Holland. It is located 4 km northeast of Den Burg.Bargen is not a statical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under De Waal. It has no place name signs, and consists of a handful of houses.In a tax register of 1561, Bargen was mentioned as having almost very poor soil.

De Waal is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel, and lies about 15 km north of Den Helder. The village was first mentioned in 1295 as "sancti Bonifacii in Waelkerken", and means "pond created after a dike breach". De Waal started to developed after the Waalenburg polder was created in 1436. The Dutch Reformed church is built on a terp (artificial hill). It was destroyed in 1945 during the Georgian uprising. A new church was built in 1952 and a tower was added in 1961.

Duinen van Texel National Park (duinen = dunes) is a national park located on the North Holland island of Texel in the Netherlands. All dune systems on the western side of the island and the large coastal plains on both the northern and southern points of the island are part of the park. The park covers approximately 43 km2 (17 sq mi) and attained national park status in 2002. The visitor center is located in the natural history museum Ecomare. In 1927 botanist Jac. P. Thijsse made an illustrated book about the flora and fauna on the island, and pointed out the major environmental values of the island. This book was one of a series, the book was cheap, and the pictures for the book came free with each Verkade chocolate bar.There are many walking trails which follow either red, yellow, blue or green signs The green routes are not accessible during the bird breeding season. Many bicycle trails cross the park as well.

De Koog is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel, and lies about 17 km north of Den Helder. It is the chief centre of tourism on the island, surrounded with many hotels and campgrounds. The village is located on the North Sea coast of the island. Only two narrow lines of dunes separate the village from the beach. South of the village is a wooded area which is also popular with tourists. The information centre and museum about the Wadden Sea, Ecomare, are located here.

Den Burg is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel on the island of the same name, and lies about 12 km north of Den Helder.

Texel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈtɛsəl] ; Texels dialect: Tessel) is a municipality and an island with a population of 13,643 in North Holland, Netherlands. It is the largest and most populated island of the West Frisian Islands in the Wadden Sea. The island is situated north of Den Helder, northeast of Noorderhaaks, and southwest of Vlieland.

Oosterend is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Texel, and lies about 17 km northeast of Den Helder. Oosterend is the second largest village on the island. Although it's situated further from the sea than Oudeschild it's the hometown of most fishermen on Texel. Oosterend is built around a church called Maartenskerk ("Saint Martin's Church"). The oldest parts of the church were built in the 11th century. Oosterend is sometimes called Jerusalem-of-the-north, this is caused due to five different religions in the village, Catholicism, Baptism, Dutch Reformed, Protestantism, Reformed-Gemeente. But this does not lead to conflicts, since all the religions live peacefully together. This is also the underlying cause of the fact that the relatively small community used to have three primary schools. From the school year 2013-2014 on they only have two left: The Catholic school and public school have fused into a public school with special attention for religion, since both schools ended up having less than fifty pupils. The even smaller reformed private school is, however, still in use.

Zuid Haffel (South Haffel) is a polder and hamlet in the northwest of the Netherlands. It is located on the island of Texel, North Holland. Texel is also the municipality of the place. Zuid Haffel is one of the oldest polders on the island of Texel. Around the end of the 13th century, the area was surrounded by dykes. In 1350, Jan van Henegouwen gave his permission to create a dyke between Tjarkshorn and the Lyorts road. These names are of Frisian origin. The areas to be drained were already part of the polder Zuid Haffel. Around 1500, the municipality was named Zuidhaffelt. The road running through the municipality was named Burenweg (neighbor's road) and later Zuidhaffelderweg. Nearby is a farm named Zuidhaffel, which lies on de Waterweg, built in the 16th century. This state monument was intended to be turned into a museum, but this plan was dropped. Instead, in 1969, the farm was restored. The hamlet has no place name signs, and is considered part of Den Burg. In 1840, it was home to 69 people. Nowadays, it consists of about 20 houses.

Driehuizen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located on the island of Texel, about 2 km southwest of the town of Den Burg. The name related to three fames ("drie huizen" in Dutch) were present at the site during the 16th century.Driehuizen is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Den Burg. Driehuizen does not have place name signs, and consists of a handful of houses.The oldest inhabitants were from the Merovingian era (450 to ca. 750 AD). Signs of habitation were found in the higher area between Driehuizen, Operen and Immetjeshoeve. At the crossing of the Laanweg, Westerweg and Akenbuurt roads remains of a burial ground were found.

Oudeschild is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the island municipality of Texel, and lies about 12 km northeast of Den Helder. Oudeschild is the fishing harbour of the island. It is situated at the Wadden Sea dyke. Next to the harbour, the windmill Traanroeier marks the site of the Maritime and Beachcombers Museum, which exhibits an interesting collection of objects found on the beaches of Texel. In the 17th century, the Dutch East India Company ships sailing from Amsterdam waited for favourable winds at the Rede van Texel, on the sea near Oudeschild. Close to the village is the Hoge Berg (the so-called "High Mountain"), a 15-metre-high (49 ft) hill. Near the Hoge Berg is the Russian cemetery. Here lie the Georgians who died in their uprising in 1945.

Eierland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɛiərlɑnt]) is a former island in the Netherlands. It is now the northern part of the island of Texel. The name means "egg land", named for the seagull eggs that were collected on the island and sent to Amsterdam. The island of Eierland was a part of Vlieland until the 13th century, when it became a separate island. During the 16th century, a sand bank grew in the sea arm between Texel and Eierland, which eventually was submerged only at extremely high tide. In 1629 and 1630, a dam was built connecting the two islands, and Eierland ceased to exist as a separate island. The shallow waters between the two islands were sold to a group of developers led by trader Nicolaas de Cock from Antwerp in 1835. Within twenty weeks, a dyke was built around this area, and a polder was created, the Eierlandse Polder. This meant a significant enlargement of the island of Texel. The lighthouse of Texel, the Eierland Lighthouse, is located on the northern tip of the former island. This area was formerly known as het Engels Kerkhof, the English Cemetery. Many sailors from nearby shipwrecks were buried here. The village of De Cocksdorp (named after Nicolaas de Cock) and the hamlets Midden-Eierland and Zuid-Eierland are located in the Eierlandse Polder.
