The Tinshill BT Tower (also known locally as Cookridge Tower, or Tinshall BT Radio Station) is a 60.96 metres ( 200 ft) tall telecommunication tower located on the east side of Otley Old Road in the north of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is in an elevated part of Leeds, with its base 192 metres above sea level. It is one of fourteen BT towers built of reinforced concrete. The tower is 53 metres tall and consists of a steel lattice tower on top of a concrete base. It was built in 1951 as part of chain of stations relaying television between Telephone House in Manchester and Kirk O'Shotts in Scotland, part of the British Telecom microwave network.In 2002 it had 16 large microwave dishes providing point-to-point communications, and roughly 50 other small microwave dishes, mobile phone, paging and TETRA transmitters. The BT dishes were 3 and 3.7 metres diameter and mostly transmitted on 11 GHz.In 2002, prompted by a request from the local MP, Harold Best, it was the subject of a study by the Health Protection Agency, who concluded that the radio emissions from its various transmitters, were well below levels which might cause a risk to health for people nearby.

Holt Park is a medium-sized low-rise 1970s housing estate in the northwest suburbs of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is approximately 6 miles (10 km) from Leeds city centre situated between Tinshill, Cookridge and Adel, and is at the edge of the Leeds urban fringe, bordering the green belt which makes up two thirds of the metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds. The nearby Tinshill BT Tower dominates the skyline. Holt Park is in the Leeds North West constituency; its Member of Parliament is Labour Co-op Alex Sobel, who won the seat from Liberal Democrats in the 2017 General Election. The Labour constituency office is in Holt Park District Centre. It is part of the Adel & Wharfedale ward of Leeds City Council.

Lawnswood is a small suburb in the north west of the city of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. As such it is north north east of the West Yorkshire Urban Area. The suburb falls within the Adel and Wharefdale Ward of the City of Leeds Council.

Leeds North West is a constituency in the City of Leeds which has been represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Alex Sobel, of Labour Co-op.

Cookridge is a suburb of north-west Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, north of the Leeds Outer Ring Road. In 1715 Ralph Thoresby described it as a village four miles from Leeds and three from Otley, dating from 1540.A mixture of suburban and council owned properties on the border with Holt Park and Tinshill, the area sits in both the Adel & Wharfedale ward of Leeds City Council and the Leeds North West parliamentary constituency. Before 2004, the area sat within Cookridge ward, named after the area. Nearby places include Adel, Holt Park, Tinshill, Horsforth, Bramhope, Moor Grange and Ireland Wood. Cookridge is one of the highest points in Leeds, with the elevation rising to 198 m (650 ft) above sea level close to the water tower on the eastern edge of the suburb. Cookridge holds an annual scarecrow festival hosted by the Leeds Modernians.

Tinshill (pronounced Tins-hill) is a district of Leeds, 4 miles (7 km) north of Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire, England. It was the Danes in the 9th century who named the hill "Tyndr's Hyll".The district is in the Weetwood ward of Leeds City Council. It is situated between Horsforth and Cookridge. When the estate was planned in the 1940s it was originally known as the 'Cookridge Tower Estate'. The estate predated surrounding estates such as Ireland Wood and Moor Grange. Holt Park came many years later and provided many facilities such as an Asda supermarket, shopping centre, leisure centre and secondary school. The area was mainly made up of council-owned social housing although a growing number of these houses are now privately owned. It is near to the Tinshill BT Tower also known as the Cookridge Tower, one of the highest points in the city. Horsforth railway station is closer to Tinshill than Horsforth; the station is on the Cookridge side of the Moseley beck. Tinshill is made up of a mix of former and current local authority housing, as well as many privately built houses that were constructed around the time Tinshill estate was being developed. Ireland Wood is a small residential area in north-west Leeds, West Yorkshire, England named after the Woodland Trust wood which it contains. It is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) to the north-west of Leeds city centre. It was planned by Leeds Housing Director RAH Livett and won the Ministry Housing medal for 1945-9. An early plan of Ireland Wood in 1950 is shown on the Leodis website .The estate was constructed throughout the 1950s and provided a refuge from the slum houses in industrial parts of the city which they (along with other similar areas) replaced. This estate is particularly leafy, due to the amount of greenery and woodland surrounding. The area's main thoroughfare is the Otley Old Road. It sits in the Weetwood ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds North West parliamentary constituency. The district is close to the Holt Park, Cookridge and Tinshill areas and the Leeds Ring Road.

Moor Grange County Secondary School was an all-boys school located in the Leeds postal district of Leeds 16 at the junction of Parkstone Avenue and the West Park section of the Leeds Outer Ring Road. Although it was named Moor Grange, it was actually located in the Ireland Wood area with Moor Grange Estate being located just across the ring road. The school had a main section four storeys high. The science block was located on the top of a two-storey building above the woodwork, metalwork, science and art rooms. It also had a set of annexes used as classrooms adjacent to the playground. The school was renamed Moor Grange High School in the 1970s. It was demolished in the late 1980s and is now the site of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs house and a new road named Redvers Close. The school opened in 1960 for years from nearby West Park County Secondary School which reverted to its original purpose as an all-girls school from September 1961 after the last class of boys left.

Horsforth Woodside was a proposed railway station that was to be built on the site of Woodside Quarry near Horsforth in West Yorkshire, England. It would have been located on the Harrogate Line near the current Horsforth station, which would also stay open. Horsforth Woodside was also the name of a very early station on the Leeds-Northallerton railway, which was closed completely in 1864. The fact that both the old closed station and the proposed new station have the same name has caused confusion when railway historical matters in this area are being discussed. The proposed station would have served a planned housing development at the former Woodside Quarry, as well as providing a park and ride service for Leeds city centre.A turn-back facility was built in 2012 at nearby Horsforth station which allows for future timetabling improvements. That was related to the intention of opening the new station at Horsforth Woodside.In a 2014 feasibility study, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority decided not to pursue with Horsforth Woodside for a number of reasons: the opening of Apperley Bridge and Kirkstall Forge stations on the Airedale Line (which are in the same area), its proximity to Horsforth railway station, and the proposal for a park and ride facility at nearby Boddington. It was argued, however, that with plans to build 2000 homes near the site of the proposed station, it was still needed.

Breary Marsh is a Local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest situated adjacent to Golden Acre Park in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, grid reference SE264416.

Moor Grange Estate is a housing estate in the West Park area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, which was built in the 1950s on reclaimed farmland. Work on the Moor Grange Estate began in 1955. It was originally owned by the local council, and was leased by the council to tenants as a council estate. Most of the housing on the estate is now privately owned. Moor Grange does not suffer the crime problems of other council estates (including the nearby Hawksworth Estate). House prices on the estate are high, and Moor Grange is considered a 'model council estate'. This may be due to the affluence of the area in which it is situated. Moor Grange backs onto the smaller Spen Estate which is another council estate in West Park. The Estate falls within the Kirkstall ward of the Leeds Metropolitan Council.
