Washington Avenue Historic District (Evansville, Indiana)

Independence Historic District, also known as the West Franklin Street-Wabash Avenue Historic District, is a national historic district located in the Lamasco neighborhood of Evansville, Indiana. The district developed after 1880, and encompasses 95 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site. It includes commercial and residential properties and representative examples of Italianate, Queen Anne, Romanesque, and Beaux-Arts style architecture. Notable buildings include the West Branch Carnegie Library (1912), Laval Block, Heldt-Voelker Hardware Store (1890), First Federal Savings, Gerke Building, August Rosenberger House (1894), and St. Boniface Church (1882, 1902).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Peter Augustus Maier House, also known as the Maier-Pollard House , is a historic home located at Evansville, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1873, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "L"-plan, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a low-pitched slate cross-gable roof and features a bracketed cornice and paneled frieze. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house and original wrought iron fence.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Bayard Park Neighborhood is a neighborhood in Evansville, Indiana which is bounded by Lincoln Avenue, US Highway 41, Washington Avenue and Garvin Street. The Bayard Park Historic District contains approximately 87 acres including 335 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site within the neighborhood boundaries. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The architecture of residential homes in the neighborhood include quaint 1890s Queen Anne cottages, ground-hugging bungalows, American Fourquares, and high-style Early American and English revival types. The neighborhood also features Evansville's first neighborhood park and the East Branch Library, a Carnegie Library funded by the renowned philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

The Liberty Baptist Church is a historic African-American Baptist church located at 701 Oak St. in Evansville, Indiana. It was founded in 1865 as a congregation of former slaves, according to Historic Evansville. The Gothic Revival red brick church was built in 1887, as a replacement after a cyclone destroyed an earlier building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Alhambra Theatorium (also known as The Alhambra Theater) is a historic movie theater in the Haynies Corner Arts District of Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by Frank J. Schlotter and opened on September 27, 1913, as a movie theater. The Alhambra was one of many influenced by the Alhambra Palace in Spain. Although Alhambra theatres opened all over the world, only a traditional playhouse built in New York in 1905 predates Evansville's in the United States. The theatre cost $18,000 to build and was one of the largest movie theatres in Evansville at the time. It included a cigar shop and a confectionery, and spurred new business in the area now designated as the Haynies Corner Arts District. The theater ceased operation in 1956. The Alhambra has been renovated a few times in the past 100 years and is in the process of being restored. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Haynie's Corner Arts District is a small area in Evansville's south-central side, adjacent to Downtown Evansville. Centered on Haynie's Corner, a small square, the district is resided mainly by artists and is one of the only areas in the city where residential showrooms are allowed. The district is home to an art festival show with painters, sculptors, craftsmen, artisans, and musicians. It also hosts the Midwest Dragon Boat Racing Festival.

Wabash Valley Motor Company was a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1919. It was in Chicago school style architecture.: Part 1  It has been demolished. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and delisted in 2011.

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) is a public library system serving Evansville and Vanderburgh County in Indiana, USA. The EVPL also supplements the services provided by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and has the authority to approve the tax levy of the independently run and operated Willard Library.The EVPL had a total circulation of 2,922,126 and had 1,842,085 in-person visits to its system in 2013, making it one of the largest public library systems in Indiana. EVPL was rated a five star library by the Library Journal, which places it in the top 1% of public libraries in the U.S. EVPL also obtained a Top Ten library ranking in the 2010 edition of Hennen's American Public Library Ratings, achieving a number eight ranking within its population category.

EvilleCon is an annual three day anime convention held during March at the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville, Indiana.

The Old National Events Plaza (formerly The Centre) is a 280,000-square-foot (26,000 m2) convention center and auditorium in Evansville, Indiana, United States, that consists of a 2,500-seat auditorium, a 38,000-square-foot (3,500 m2) exhibit hall, 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m2) ballroom, and 12 flexible 1,000-square-foot (93 m2) meeting rooms.The facility hosts small and medium-sized conventions ranging from 20 to 4,000 people. The auditorium is also frequently the site a variety of concerts and special events. Formerly known as Vanderburgh Auditorium, the building underwent a major renovation and expansion in the mid-1990s and was renamed the centre. The architects involved with the project included HOK Venue and Veazey Parrot & Shoulders.It is co-managed with the Ford Center, Mesker Amphitheatre, and Victory Theatre.
