Haynies Corner Arts District

Alhambra Theatorium (also known as The Alhambra Theater) is a historic movie theater in the Haynies Corner Arts District of Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by Frank J. Schlotter and opened on September 27, 1913, as a movie theater. The Alhambra was one of many influenced by the Alhambra Palace in Spain. Although Alhambra theatres opened all over the world, only a traditional playhouse built in New York in 1905 predates Evansville's in the United States. The theatre cost $18,000 to build and was one of the largest movie theatres in Evansville at the time. It included a cigar shop and a confectionery, and spurred new business in the area now designated as the Haynies Corner Arts District. The theater ceased operation in 1956. The Alhambra has been renovated a few times in the past 100 years and is in the process of being restored. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church is an Episcopal parish church located in Evansville, Indiana, within the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis. The parish was formally organized in 1836 after a missionary visit from Bishop Jackson Kemper. The present-day church building was erected in 1886 on the corner of 1st and Chestnut St. in downtown Evansville to replace the parish's first church built on the same site. Designed by architects James W. Reid & Merritt J. Reid, the English Gothic Revival-style structure was constructed with Bedford limestone and trimmed with Green River limestone. St. Paul's is known for being the home parish of various prominent figures in Evansville's history. It is also known for its community service, including a weekend soup kitchen through Sr. Joanna's Table. St. Paul's Episcopal Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 17, 1978 as part of the larger Riverside Historic District in downtown Evansville.

The Riverside Historic District is a U.S. historic district located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was added to the register in 1978 and roughly bounded by Southlane Drive, Walnut, Third, and Parrett Streets. It consists of 1,010 acres (4.1 km2) and 425 buildings. It is also known as the Riverside Neighborhood.Located in the heart of the historic district is the Reitz Home Museum. It was built in 1871 and is noted as one of the finest examples of French Second Empire architecture in the United States. Other notable buildings are in the Italianate, Colonial Revival, and Renaissance Revival styles and include the Viele-Koch House (1856, c. 1872–1873), John Morford Stockwell House, Garvin House (c. 1860), St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1886), Nisbet House (1878), Sonntag-Bayard House (1863), Bosse House (1916), Duke House (1892), First Presbyterian Church (1873), Zurstadt House (c. 1853).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Peter Augustus Maier House, also known as the Maier-Pollard House , is a historic home located at Evansville, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1873, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "L"-plan, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a low-pitched slate cross-gable roof and features a bracketed cornice and paneled frieze. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house and original wrought iron fence.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Michael Schaeffer House is a historic home located at Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1894, and is a two-story, Queen Anne style red brick dwelling. It has a slate roof and limestone detailing. It features an Eastlake movement style entry porch.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Buckingham Apartments was a historic apartment building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by the architecture firm Shopbell & Company and built in 1911. It was in Arts and Crafts movement style architecture.: Part 1  It was demolished on November 18, 1998It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and delisted in 2011.

The Liberty Baptist Church is a historic African-American Baptist church located at 701 Oak St. in Evansville, Indiana. It was founded in 1865 as a congregation of former slaves, according to Historic Evansville. The Gothic Revival red brick church was built in 1887, as a replacement after a cyclone destroyed an earlier building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Masonic Temple in Evansville, Indiana, USA, is a building from 1913. It was designed by the local architects Shopbell & Company in Classical Revival style. The lodge building once hosted three separately chartered Masonic lodges: Evansville Lodge (No. 64), Reed Lodge (No. 316) and Lessing Lodge (No. 464). The building measures 72 x 104 feet, with four stories above ground and a basement. The exterior walls of the first two floors are faced with stone and the stories above are trimmed with both stone and terracotta. The interior floors and partitions are supported by steel columns and girders, also following the Roman classic order.The Masonic Temple hosts the Lessing and Reed Lodges, mentioned above, and two additional lodges chartered long after the building was completed. The two additional lodges are the Constellation Lodge No. 748 and Daylight Lodge No. 752. All lodges are chartered by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Indiana. The fourth floor of the temple is the York Rite floor. Evansville York Rite is composed of three separately chartered Masonic organizations. Each is chartered by their respective grand body of the State of Indiana. The three organizations are Evansville Chapter No. 12 Royal Arch Masons, Simpson Council No. 23 Cryptic Masons and La Valette Commandery No. 15 Knights Templar. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Trinity United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. The congregation began in 1825 as a Methodist class and its Gothic Revival style brick church building was completed in 1866. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Huber Motor Sales Building, also known as Kenny Kent Body Shop, is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by the architecture firm Shopbell & Company and built in 1916. It is a two-story, brick building.: Part 1 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The H.G. Newman Building is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1900, and is a two-story, Late Victorian style brick building. The building features decorative brickwork and parapet, and round arched openings. It was originally built to house a wholesale grocery and farmers' supply.: Part 1, p. 22 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Reitz Home Museum is a Victorian house museum located in the Riverside Historic District in downtown Evansville, Indiana. The museum offers year-round guided tours. An authentic restoration offers visitors a step back in time with silk damask-covered walls, hand painted ceilings, delicately molded plaster friezes, and intricately patterned hand-laid wood parquet floors. Other features of the home include tiled and marbled fireplaces, stained glass windows, and French gilt chandeliers. Much of the home is decorated with original period furniture.Considered by many to be one of the finest examples of the French Second Empire style architecture, the home has been featured in several issues of Victorian Homes magazine as well as Victorian Decorating and Lifestyle magazine. In 2003 the home received a commendation from the Victorian Society in America for the preservation and restoration of the Victorian mansion.The museum is open everyday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. except Sunday and Monday.
