Lac-des-Seize-Îles (French pronunciation: [lak de sɛz il]; French for Sixteen Islands Lake) is a village and municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Les Pays-d'en-Haut Regional County Municipality. The municipality surrounds and is named after Sixteen Island Lake (Lac des Seize Îles) with the village situated at the northern end of this lake.

Argenteuil County is an historic county in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was located on the Ottawa River between Gatineau and Montreal. The county seat was Lachute. Argenteuil was bounded on the north by Terrebonne County, on the east by Deux-Montagnes County, on the west by Papineau County and on the south by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell in Ontario. In the early 1980s, the Quebec's counties were abolished; as a result, most of Argenteuil County became the Argenteuil Regional County Municipality. The northwestern corner was transferred to Les Laurentides Regional County Municipality the northern parts to Les Pays-d'en-Haut Regional County Municipality and some eastern parts to Deux-Montagnes Regional County Municipality.

Wentworth is a township municipality in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Argenteuil Regional County Municipality, north-west of Lachute. Its population centres are Louisa and Dunany.

Dunany is a small community in Wentworth, Quebec, Canada. It is located just over an hour's drive west of Montreal in the Laurentian Mountains, some 10 to 15 kilometres north of Lachute. Its Dunany Golf and Country Club was founded in 1922. The club consists of a 9-hole course and a clubhouse surrounded by four small lakes: Black, Curran, Clear and Boyd.

Pripstein's Camp Mishmar (Hebrew: מַחֲנֶה מִשְׁמָר) was a private co-educational summer camp in St. Adolphe d'Howard, Quebec, which operated from 1941 to 2014. Though not strictly a Jewish summer camp, Mishmar predominantly catered to a middle- and upper-class Jewish clientele. In its seventy year history, the camp hosted a number of prominent future writers, businesspeople, and politicians.

The Dominion Timber and Minerals Railway was a private standard-gauge railroad that operated in the Laurentian Mountains of Southwestern Quebec, Canada from 1916 to 1981. Owned by Canadian Refractories Limited, the railway's 20 km mainline stretched from CRL's magnesite mine in Kilmar, through an extremely rugged mountain route to its final terminus at Marelan. Originally a narrow-gauge railway from 1916 to 1933, the Dominion Timber and Minerals Railway expanded to include a 65-ton locomotive and several freight cars.Due to rising operating costs and decreasing sustainability, the railway was decommissioned in 1981, with many of the railway ties being dumped into lakes along the route by workmen. Until 2012 the abandoned rail route has been popular among ATV and dirt bike riders, however the upcoming sale of the land will permanently limit trespassing on this now-closed trail.

Le Studio (later renamed Studio Morin Heights) was a residential recording studio in the Laurentian Mountains near the town of Morin-Heights, Quebec, Canada built in 1972 by recording engineer and producer André Perry, Nick Blagona and Yaël Brandeis. The studio with a Trident console where artists recorded and stayed, was the venue for many notable Canadian and international artists, including Rush (it was nicknamed "Rush's Abbey Road"), The Police, Bee Gees, Chicago, David Bowie, April Wine and Cat Stevens and Vain. Perry described the facility as "like the United Nations. I had people from London, New York, Quebec, all over the world."Renowned for its retreat-like location as well as its state-of-the-art equipment, it was one of the earliest studios to install a Solid State Logic SL 4000 B mixing console and RADAR digital-recording equipment. Perry sold the studio in 1988. In 2008 the studio had gone out of business, and as of 2015 the property was up for sale. On 11 August 2017, the building was partially destroyed by "a suspicious" fire. The entirety of the complex was demolished in 2020. In 2020, the recording area was demolished, and in 2021, the entire property was cleared and put up for sale for $850,000.
