Alamo Heights High School is a public high school located in the city of Alamo Heights, Texas and is the only high school in the Alamo Heights Independent School District.

Olmos Dam is a detention dam located in San Antonio, Texas. It was built in the 1920s, following the disastrous September 1921 San Antonio floods. Work began on the dam on January 19, 1925, completed in 1926, and in 1929 a cut-off channel, to allow excess water to bypass the Great Bend in downtown, was completed. Projects, which together have been providing flood control.In the 1970s, improvements were made by the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio River Authority. In March 1979, an improvement was made to strengthen and anchor the dam, as well as modifying gate operations, in order to provide an emergency spillway.There are six gates within the dam, two of which are open at all times to a height of 2 ft (0.61 m). They are rotated once a week. Each gate is controlled via an actuator that is situated inside the dam's gatehouse. San Antonio Express-News history columnist Paula Allen has referred to the dam as "the jewel in the crown of San Antonio’s system of flood control."It has become a "staple structure north of downtown San Antonio."Excavations in the area around Olmos Dam, both prior to the dam's construction in the 1920s and in subsequent excavations such as in 1979, have yielded a good number of Native American artifacts.

San Antonio Springs (also known as the Blue Hole) is a cluster of springs in Bexar County, Texas. These springs provide a large portion of the water for the San Antonio River, which flows from San Antonio to the Gulf of Mexico. The San Pedro Springs also feed into the San Antonio River.

Sullivan Field is a baseball park located in San Antonio, Texas, United States. It is the home of the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals baseball team of the NCAA Division I Southland Conference. It opened on April 8, 1989 with a 5–2 win over their cross-town rival, the St. Mary's Rattlers. Lights were added before the 2004 season so that night baseball would be possible.

The McDermott Center is a 2,000-seat multi-purpose arena in San Antonio, Texas on the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word. Built in 1989, it is home to the Incarnate Word Cardinals men's and women's basketball teams and the women's volleyball team.

Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium is a stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is the home field for the men's and women's soccer, track and field, and American football teams of the University of the Incarnate Word. The stadium currently seats 6,000 people. It is named after Tom Benson and his wife Gayle. Record stadium attendance of 6,498 was recorded in a game vs Houston Baptist on November 17, 2016.

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is a private, Catholic university with its main campus in San Antonio and Alamo Heights, Texas. Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the university's main campus is located on 154 acres (0.6 km2). The university operates an all-girls high school, Incarnate Word High School, as well as a co-educational high school, St. Anthony Catholic High School. It also operates two elementary schools, St. Anthony's and St. Peter Prince of the Apostles, through its Brainpower Connection program.

Miraflores Park, originally called just Miraflores and sometimes called Miraflores Alumni Park, is a sculpture garden in San Antonio, Texas. Originally established about 1921 as a private garden for Aureliano Urrutia, it features several works by Mexican-American artist Dionicio Rodriguez. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 2006.

The Broadway is a high-rise condominium tower in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It is located northwest of Mahncke Park at the intersection of Hildebrand Avenue and Broadway, east of the University of the Incarnate Word. The 21-story tower contains 90 residences. It was designed by Ziegler Cooper Architects and completed in 2010. At an architectural height of 279 feet, The Broadway is the second tallest skyscraper in Midtown San Antonio.

The Alamo Quarry Market is a lifestyle center located in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of north central San Antonio in the U.S. state of Texas, near the cities of Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills. It once functioned as a cement plant until it was abandoned. Since then it has been redeveloped into a thriving market with a Regal Cinema theater dominating the oldest building and is surrounded by other businesses including bookstores and many restaurants. The Quarry still maintains the facade of the cement factory and its most notable feature and landmark is the four historical smokestacks that can be seen several miles from the Quarry. In 1998, Tramell Crow brought in structural restoration and preservation specialist Delta Structural Technology, Inc. to restore and preserve three of the four stacks. The structures are approximately 204 feet (62 m) high, 18 feet (5.5 m) diameter at the base, and 15 feet (4.6 m) diameter at the top. These smokestacks had previously been retrofitted with steel bands every 20 feet (6.1 m) from top to bottom, which had either rusted and fallen off or had relaxed providing little, if any structural confinement. The structural contractor utilized an exclusive retrofit technique which involved complete encapsulation of three of the four stacks using high performance structural composites saturated in an epoxy matrix. The installation took less than two months, and received multiple awards within the historical preservation and concrete construction industry.Another popular feature of the Quarry is the many life-sized, brightly colored cow statues from the Cow Parade that are scattered throughout the market place. Stores at Alamo Quarry Market include Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft, Old Navy, a two-story Nordstrom Rack, Whole Foods Market, Michael's, Pottery Barn, Office Max, Restoration Hardware, Whole Earth Provision Co., and many more. Restaurants include California Pizza Kitchen, Starbucks, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Joe's Crab Shack, Chili's, Piatti, ZEDRIC'S, Orange Cup, Freddie's, and J. Alexander's. The Quarry Village, a mixed-used development, is located across from the Alamo Quarry Market, and is much more dense and urban in design when compared to the Market. Its tenants include Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Trader Joe's, Five Guys and more.

Incarnate Word High School is a private, Roman Catholic, all-girls high school in Midtown San Antonio, Texas, United States. It was established in 1881 and located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio. It is a division of the University of the Incarnate Word.
