Marikina Heights is one of the barangays of Marikina measuring some 184.16 hectares. Once a privately owned hacienda, it is now populated by 35,416 people according to the 2010 National Census.

Antipolo station is a railway station. It sits on Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2 located in Antipolo, Rizal. It opened on July 5, 2021 and is the line's easternmost station, located on the stretch of Marikina–Infanta Highway near the intersection of Sumulong Highway. It is the first Manila LRT System station outside Metro Manila to be operational. The station is the eastern terminus of the line and is the first and last station for trains headed to and from Recto station.

Blue Wave-Marikina, also known as Blue Wave at Marquinton, is a mall and office complex in Marikina, Philippines developed by Federal Land, Inc. It sits on a 2 hectares (4.9 acres) site just off the Sumulong Highway, at the northwest corner of the intersection with Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue.

Santa Elena is a barangay of Marikina, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 6,954 people. Bordered by San Roque and Jesus Dela Peña, Sta. Elena is said to be one of the first towns established by the Augustinians in what was known as the Marikina Valley and home for the heritage sites such as the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish and the Kapitan Moy Residence.

Following the onset of American occupation it was then organized as a municipality of Rizal Province, prior to the formation of Metro Manila in 1975. A formerly rural settlement, Marikina is now primarily residential and industrial and has become increasingly commercial in recent years. The City of Marikina is considered one of the wealthiest local government units in the Philippines.Marikina is known as the "Shoe Capital of the Philippines" for its famous shoe industry. It is the biggest manufacturer of shoes in the Philippines, producing almost 70% of shoes made in the country. Located in the city are the Philippine International Footwear Center and the Shoe Museum, housing the infamous shoe collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos, wife of the late Filipino President, dictator, and kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos.The city is under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo. It contains the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church, the oldest in the Marikina Valley built in 1572.

The Marikina Sports Center, also known as Marikina Sports Park and formerly known as Rodriguez Sports Center, is a sports complex located in Marikina, at the corner of Shoe Avenue and Sumulong Highway in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Marikina Cityhood Park is a public park along the corner of Sumulong Highway and Shoe Avenue in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines. It features a 12 m (39 ft) concrete monument with a clock and 12 bells sourced from Italy as well as a fountain. It was unveiled in 2005 to commemorate ninth year anniversary of Marikina's cityhood.

Sta. Elena High School (Filipino: Mataas na Paaralan ng Sta. Elena) is a public high school located at W.C. Paz St., Sta. Elena, Marikina in the Philippines. It was an annex of the Marikina High School for Brgy. Sta Elena and nearby barangays. In 2000, it became an independent high school with Mrs. Helen T. Samson as the Head Teacher In-Charge. It is located in Marikina. The school was visited by the Former Department of Education Secretary, Jesli Lapus, and by the Former President of The Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in the groundbreaking Ceremony of the start of building of MT Building, which is constructed through the initiative of the former 1st District Congressman, now Mayor of Marikina, Marcelino Teodoro. It is widely known as the 2nd best public high school in Marikina, behind only the prestigious Marikina Science High School where Mayor Marcelino Teodoro formerly studied. However, the lack of its students' discipline and some of its students lacking when it comes to academics are often criticized Through the initiative of Marcelino Teodoro, and the PAGCOR Institution of the Aquino administration, a new building was established for the students of Sta. Elena High School, especially for the Senior High School students, due to the SHS Program of the Department of Education. .

The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned (Spanish: Santuario y Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados; Filipino: Dambanang Pandiyosesis at Parokya ng Ina ng mga Walang Mag-Ampon), better known as Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Marikina, the Philippines. The church enshrines one of several images of the Madonna and Child venerated as miraculous, which has received a Pontifical decree of coronation. The church itself is a testament of a religious controversy rooting back from Marikina's early history wherein both the Jesuits and Augustinians fought over the ecclesiastical control of the area. The church is also known for featuring Metro Manila's longest Holy Week processions with around 87 floats as of 2023, and the third overall after the St. Augustine Parish in the Town of Baliuag and the San Isidro Labrador Parish in the Town of Pulilan, both located in the province of Bulacan and featuring at least 110 floats.

The Shoe Museum (Filipino: Museo ng Sapatos; formerly known as the Footwear Museum of Marikina) is a museum in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Kapitan Moy Building, also known as Cultural Center of Marikina situated in Marikina, Metro Manila, the Philippines, is the 200-year-old house of Don Laureano Guevarra (July 4, 1851 – December 30, 1891), known as the founder of the Marikina shoe industry. Also known as Kapitan Moy, he served as capitan municipal in the former municipality. A historical marker honoring him as the "Pioneer of the Shoe-making Industry in Marikina" was installed at his birthplace in 1970. Presently, there are two restaurants found in the ground floor of the Kapitan Moy Building and these are Café Kapitan Restaurant and Kusina ni Kambal. At the Café Kapitan Restaurant is an old well which serves as a décor and a wishing well to customers.
