The Marikina Sports Center, also known as Marikina Sports Park and formerly known as Rodriguez Sports Center, is a sports complex located in Marikina, at the corner of Shoe Avenue and Sumulong Highway in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Sta. Elena High School (Filipino: Mataas na Paaralan ng Sta. Elena) is a public high school located at W.C. Paz St., Sta. Elena, Marikina in the Philippines. It was an annex of the Marikina High School for Brgy. Sta Elena and nearby barangays. In 2000, it became an independent high school with Mrs. Helen T. Samson as the Head Teacher In-Charge. It is located in Marikina. The school was visited by the Former Department of Education Secretary, Jesli Lapus, and by the Former President of The Philippines Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in the groundbreaking Ceremony of the start of building of MT Building, which is constructed through the initiative of the former 1st District Congressman, now Mayor of Marikina, Marcelino Teodoro. It is widely known as the 2nd best public high school in Marikina, behind only the prestigious Marikina Science High School where Mayor Marcelino Teodoro formerly studied. However, the lack of its students' discipline and some of its students lacking when it comes to academics are often criticized Through the initiative of Marcelino Teodoro, and the PAGCOR Institution of the Aquino administration, a new building was established for the students of Sta. Elena High School, especially for the Senior High School students, due to the SHS Program of the Department of Education. .

Santa Elena is a barangay of Marikina, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 6,954 people. Bordered by San Roque and Jesus Dela Peña, Sta. Elena is said to be one of the first towns established by the Augustinians in what was known as the Marikina Valley and home for the heritage sites such as the Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish and the Kapitan Moy Residence.

The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Abandoned (Spanish: Santuario y Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados; Filipino: Dambanang Pandiyosesis at Parokya ng Ina ng mga Walang Mag-Ampon), better known as Our Lady of the Abandoned Parish Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Marikina, the Philippines. The church enshrines one of several images of the Madonna and Child venerated as miraculous, which has received a Pontifical decree of coronation. The church itself is a testament of a religious controversy rooting back from Marikina's early history wherein both the Jesuits and Augustinians fought over the ecclesiastical control of the area. The church is also known for featuring Metro Manila's longest Holy Week processions with around 87 floats as of 2023, and the third overall after the St. Augustine Parish in the Town of Baliuag and the San Isidro Labrador Parish in the Town of Pulilan, both located in the province of Bulacan and featuring at least 110 floats.

Jesús de la Peña Chapel or San Isidro Labrador Church is a historic visita in Marikina where the first Catholic Mass was held. Built by the Society of Jesus in the year 1630 with the permission of the reigning Archbishop of Manila, its establishment marked the beginning of the recorded history of Marikina, which was once a vast and mountainous area traversed by the Marikina River.

The Marikina Valley Fault System, also known as the Valley Fault System (VFS), is a dominantly right-lateral strike-slip fault system in Luzon, Philippines. It extends from Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan in the north and runs through the provinces of Rizal, and the Metro Manila cities of Quezon, Marikina, Pasig, Makati, Taguig and Muntinlupa, and the provinces of Cavite and Laguna that ends in Canlubang.

The Marikina River Park is a system of parks, trails, open spaces and recreation facilities along an 11-kilometer (6.8 mi) stretch of the Marikina River in Marikina, eastern Metro Manila, Philippines. The urban riverside park covers an area of 220 hectares (540 acres) running through the villages of Santo Niño, Santa Elena, Jesus de la Peña, San Roque, Calumpang, Barangka and Industrial Valley Complex in the western part of the city. The park, under development since 1993, is the city's biggest recreational and sports area containing the Riverbanks Center, a mall and office complex, and the biggest roller skating rink in the Philippines. It is a popular area for camping, jogging, biking and other outdoor activities not just for Marikina residents but also for those from nearby cities in Metro Manila.

Located in the city are the Philippine International Footwear Center and the Shoe Museum, housing the infamous shoe collection of former First Lady Imelda Marcos, wife of the late Filipino President, dictator, and kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos.The city is under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo. It contains the Our Lady of the Abandoned Church, the oldest in the Marikina Valley built in 1572.

Calumpang (Tagalog: Kalumpang) is one of the barangays of Marikina. It is bounded to the north by Barangay Tanong, west by Barangay Barangka, south by Santolan, Pasig and east by Barangay San Roque. It is named after a wild almond, Sterculia foetida.
