Wolvega

Wolvega is a railway station in Wolvega, Netherlands. The station opened on 15 January 1868 and is on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Weststellingwerf (Dutch: [ˈʋɛststɛlɪŋˌʋɛr(ə)f] ; Stellingwarfs: Weststellingwarf or Stellingwarf-Westaende) is a municipality in the province of Friesland in the northern Netherlands. It had a population of around 183 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Nieholtwolt, and means "new low-lying wood". Nije (new) has been added to distinguish from Oldeholtwolde. The church of Nijeholtwolde was demolished around 1700. There were no funds to rebuilt it, and a bell tower was constructed instead. The tower has been restored in 1982.In 1840, Nijeholtwolde was home to 225 people.

De Gooyer is a smock mill in Wolvega, Friesland, Netherlands which was built in 1916. It has been restored to working order. It is listed as a Rijksmonument.

The village was first mentioned in 1399 as Sonnegae, and means "village of Sonne (person)". The bell tower of Sonnega was built in 1640 and restored in 1926. Sonnega was home to 198 people in 1840.

It had a population of around 310 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Ydzerde, and means "settlement of Idzerd (person)". The Roman Catholic church dates from 1903 and has a spire from 1926, however the village probably had a church around 1100.The Idzerda Stins was a stins (estate) in the village owned by the Idzerda family. It already existed around 1500. Meinte Idzerda was grietman (a combination of mayor and judge) of Weststellingwerf between 1600 and 1619. The estate was demolished in 1740 and replaced by a farm.Ter Idzard was home to 446 people in 1840.

Oldeholtwolde (West Frisian: Aldeholtwâlde) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 150 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Oldeholtwolt, and means "old low-lying wood". Olde (old) has been added to distinguish from Nijeholtwolde. The Dutch Reformed church was destroyed in a storm around 1700. A new church was built in 1875.In 1840, Oldeholtwolde was home to 149 people.

It had a population of around 153 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Nienlameren. The etymology is unclear. It uses Nije (new) to distinguish from Oldelamer. Nijelamer has no church, but only a bell tower. The tower was restored in 1795.Nijelamer was home to 257 people in 1840.

De Blesse (or Blesse) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 800 in 2017. Its windmill, De Mars, was rebuilt in 1997. Before 1956, the village was called Blesse.
