De Mars, De Blesse

De Blesse (or Blesse) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 800 in 2017. Its windmill, De Mars, was rebuilt in 1997. Before 1956, the village was called Blesse.

Peperga (West Frisian: Pepergea) is a small village in Weststellingwerf in the province Friesland of the Netherlands. As of 2017, it has a population of 85 people, living in approximately 35 houses, and is characterized by detached houses, several businesses and a church. Peperga is located on the A32 between Wolvega and Steenwijk, with public transportation offering a service to the nearby villages of Steggerda and De Blesse. Peperga is best known as the birthplace of Peter Stuyvesant, the last Director-General of the Dutch colony of New Netherland before the colony was taken by the English and subsequently renamed New York. The church, completed in 1810, was formerly dedicated to Saint Nicholas but is now named after Stuyvesant.

De Gooyer is a smock mill in Wolvega, Friesland, Netherlands which was built in 1916. It has been restored to working order. It is listed as a Rijksmonument.

Willemsoord is a village in the Dutch provinces of Overijssel and Friesland. For the most part it lays within the municipality Steenwijkerland, and small part lays within the municipality of Weststellingwerf. It was founded in 1820 as an orphanage and colony of the Society of Humanitarianism. A settlement developed around the colony. In 1840, it was home to 925 people. In 1851, a church was built. In 1923, the Society was disbanded and its possessions were sold. In 1942, the national repository of art was built near Willemsoord. It housed over 3,000 art pieces in a bomb resistant bunker-like building.

Blesdijke (West Frisian: Blesdike) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 460 in 2008.

Marijenkampen is a hamlet in Steenwijkerland, a municipality in the province Overijssel in the Netherlands. Until 1867, the area was called Huttenberg and was overgrown with heath. The first inhabitants were people who had been banned from the neighbouring colony Willemsoord, founded by the Society of Humanitarianism. These inhabitants settled in and led an independent life. The village was named after Marij van Essen who owned several lots of land in the area.

Steggerda (West Frisian: Steggerde) is a village of the Dutch municipality of Weststellingwerf. The village consists of one long stretch with housing and has a population of 1,049. The village was first mentioned in 1408 as Steggerden. The etymology is unknown. Steggerda is a Catholic enclave in a predominantly Protestant region. In 1759, a clandestine church was built on top of a horse barn. In 1839, the first church was built which was replaced in 1921. Steggerda was home to 560 people in 1840. In 1915, a dairy factory was opened. The factory was supposed to be demolished, however a group of villagers salvaged the steam engine. In 2011, a dairy steam museum opened.

Basse is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality Steenwijkerland, about 7 km northwest of Steenwijk. It was first mentioned in 1425 as Bassinghe, and means "settlement belonging to Basse (person)". It is a stretched out settlement. The farm Bassinghe used to contain a clandestine church. Since 1983, Basse organises the "Battle of Basse", a car and motocross on a dirt track.

Wolvega (Low German: Wolvege), (West Frisian: Wolvegea) is the largest town in the municipality of Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland (Fryslan), in the Netherlands. It had a population of around 13,090 in 2021. Wolvega is the capital and largest town of the municipality.

Wolvega is a railway station in Wolvega, Netherlands. The station opened on 15 January 1868 and is on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Oldeholtpade (West Frisian: Aldeholtpea) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 1,020 in 2017.The village was first mentioned in 1204 as "Holenpathe juxta Liennam1", and means "old low-lying path". Olde (old) has been added to distinguish from Nijeholtpade. Oldeholtpade is a road village which developed along the Wolvega to Oosterwolde road. The Dutch Reformed church was built in 1545 to replace a church from 1204. The tower was built in 1608.Oldeholtpade was home to 407 people in 1840.
