Fortis Green is a ward in the extreme northwestern corner of the Borough of Haringey, north London. It is also the name of the road that runs between Muswell Hill and East Finchley which forms part of the A504. The ward lies between Colney Hatch to the north, Muswell Hill to the east, Highgate to the south and East Finchley to the west. It is a mostly residential area, although it also contained two large hospitals: Coppets Wood Hospital to the north, which was the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Unit of the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust, and St Lukes Woodside Hospital to the south. Both of these hospitals are now closed. Fortis Green ward has a population of about 12,000 and is generally a middle-class area, with a higher proportion of skilled and highly qualified employees than the borough average (40.7% as compared with 26.3% are in social grade AB). More than half of the 16- to 74-year-olds in Fortis Green are qualified to degree level or higher, and employment levels are very high. About 85% of the population is White, higher than the borough average of about 65%. Of housing stock, 47.2% is in houses and 52.8% is in flats. Fortis Green Road and Muswell Hill Broadway are the main shopping thoroughfares and the parish church is dedicated to St James. The nearest tube stations are at East Finchley and Highgate.

The Phoenix Cinema is an independent single-screen community cinema in East Finchley, London, England. It was built in 1910 and opened in 1912 as the East Finchley Picturedrome. It is one of the oldest continuously-running cinemas in the UK and shows mainly art-house films. It is distinctive on East Finchley's high road by its large neon sign on the side of the building. Its patrons are Benedict Cumberbatch, Maureen Lipman, Mike Leigh, Ken Loach, Michael Palin, Bill Paterson and Mark Kermode. It is run by a charity as a community cinema.

East Finchley is a London Underground station in East Finchley in the London Borough of Barnet, north London. The station is on the High Barnet branch of the Northern line, between Finchley Central and Highgate stations, and is in Travelcard Zone 3. The station was opened on 22 August 1867, on the Great Northern Railway's line between Finsbury Park and Edgware stations. As part of London Underground's only partially completed Northern Heights plan, the station was completely rebuilt with additional tracks in the late 1930s. Northern line trains started serving the station on 3 July 1939 and main line passenger services ended on 2 March 1941.

All Saints' Church is a Church of England church in Durham Road, East Finchley, London. It is a grade II listed building with Historic England.

The National Bobath Cerebral Palsy Centre (The Bobath Centre) is the original home of the Bobath Approach, providing therapy to those living with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions. Its services are available to people of all ages The Bobath Centre is also a specialist, national training facility for health professionals and therapists. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy, specifically. History: The Bobath Centre was founded by husband and wife partnership Berta Bobath and Dr Karel Bobath who developed the Bobath concept Originally, The Bobath Centre was located in East End Road, East Finchley, a grade II listed building with Historic England. The buildings occupied by the centre were the former Holy Trinity School designed by Anthony Salvin, who also designed Holy Trinity East Finchley, and the former Industrial School. The construction of the original school was funded by the Salvin family and their friends, including Lord Mansfield of Kenwood.

Market Place is a road in Finchley, north London. It was the site of the largest pig market in Middlesex, founded in the late 17th Century. Pigs would be fattened on grain left over from London's gin distilleries before being sold on to London butchers. In the 19th Century the market declined in importance and was only held once a week, and towards the end of the century was reduced to occasional auctions.From the earliest days, the market had a reputation for squalor and immorality. The notorious highwayman and burglar Jack Sheppard was held at the George Inn on Market Place following his fourth arrest whilst disguised as a butcher. Following heavy bombing during World War II the market was extensively rebuilt, with most of the shops closing. The last shops closed on the street in 1973, and the last commercial premises remaining, a pub, the Duke of Cambridge, closed and was torn down in 2009. However, the area maintained its association with pig farming well into the 20th Century, with a herd of 25 pigs kept on nearby Prospect Place as late as 1955. No trace of the market now exists other than the road name.

Ambitious about Autism is a UK national charity which aims to improve opportunities for young people on the Autistic Spectrum, including those with autism or Asperger syndrome. Originally established in 1997 as the TreeHouse Trust, the charity was founded by a group of parents – including author Nick Hornby – whose first child had been diagnosed with autism.Their mission has been described as being to "help children and young people with autism to learn, thrive and achieve – making the ordinary possible."It is known for operating TreeHouse School in Muswell Hill, north London, Ambitious College which has campuses in Tottenham and Isleworth, London and The Rise School, based in Feltham, west London. TreeHouse School was rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in its 2017 inspection.

Belvedere Court is a residential block of fifty six flats in Lyttelton Road, East Finchley, North London, England. It was designed by the architect Ernst L. Freud and built by H Meckhonik, a London-based contractor, in 1937/38 on land previously owned by the Church Estate Commissioners. The flats were initially built for rental only and principally let to Jewish families from Europe, moving to Britain to escape the Nazi occupation. The flats incorporated many modern facilities, including waste disposal chutes, fully fitted kitchens and central heating. Many of these features were considered the height of luxury in the 1930s. As a child, the television personality, Jerry Springer lived at Belvedere Court with his family. In the 1990s, the then freeholder, The Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society sold the block to Frogmore Estates without first offering it to the residents which they were obliged to do under the 1987 Landlord & Tenant Act. The plans were withdrawn following a ruling by the High Court and the freehold eventually secured by the residents. The law was changed to impose financial penalties on freeholders not observing these conditions. It is a fine example of 'moderne' design and is characterized by streamline pavilion windows, stone bands, stepped entrance surrounds, Crittall windows and a number of other architectural features which are typical of the period. Many of the original lights and fittings within flats were also of the art deco style, with chrome door handles, jade green bathrooms and globe lights. Unfortunately, as the flats have been modernised, many of these features have disappeared. Belvedere Court received its Grade II listing in 1999.

Highgate Wood is a 28 hectare (70 acre) area of ancient woodland in North London, lying between East Finchley, Highgate and Muswell Hill. It was originally part of the ancient Forest of Middlesex which covered much of London, Hertfordshire and Essex and was mentioned in the Domesday Book. It lies in the London Borough of Haringey, but is owned and managed by the City of London Corporation. The London Borough of Haringey contains four ancient woods: Highgate Wood, Queen's Wood, Coldfall Wood and Bluebell Wood. Highgate Wood is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of Middlesex in 1886 more or less in its present formation, but known by the name "Gravelpit Wood".

East Finchley Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Creighton Avenue, East Finchley, London. It was built in 1931 and replaced the former church next door which was converted to a church hall and is a grade II listed building with Historic England. The church hall was later converted to flats known as Ashlar Court.

The Gables is a block of flats in Fortis Green, on the edge of Muswell Hill, London, and a grade II listed building with Historic England. The building was constructed in 1907 to a design by Herbert and William Collins in the Arts and Crafts and Jugendstil style.
