Coolsingel is one of the best known streets in central Rotterdam. It is located in the Cool district. The street leads from the Hofplein to the Churchillplein. Plans were announced in 2016 to reduce traffic congestion on the street. The redevelopment is expected to cost 47 million euros and to be finished by 2020. In 2021 the renovation was finished giving cyclists and pedestrians more space. Car traffic was reduced from 4 lanes (2 in each direction) to 2 lanes (1 in each direction).

Joelia is a restaurant in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The restaurant received a Michelin star in 2016. The Dutch royal couple Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary in Joelia. During the corona pandemic, the restaurant devised a way to welcome diners despite the new corona rules for restaurants and cafes. For a tenner extra, they were registered as hotel guests of the Hilton Hotel located above. Guests could enter the one-star restaurant through the hotel lobby. It caused many negative reactions. It was then decided to keep the restaurant's doors closed for the next four weeks anyway. This decision was taken in consultation with the municipality of Rotterdam.

Hofplein is a major public town square in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The square lies on a crossing of the Weena, the Schiekade and the Coolsingel. In the center of the square a large fountain is situated. Near the square lay the former Rotterdam Hofplein railway station.

Rotterdam City Hall was built between 1914 and 1920 by Henri Evers. It is one of the few buildings in the center of Rotterdam that survived the bombing of May 14, 1940. Since 10 October 2000 it has been recognized as a Rijksmonument.

The Rotterdam tramway network (Dutch: Rotterdams tramnet) is a key element of the overall public transport arrangements in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Opened in 1879, the network currently has nine regular tramlines, and three special or seasonal tramlines. It has been operated since 1927 by Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram (RET). The tram network is the city's more extensive public transport system, while the rapid transit Rotterdam Metro is the more utilized system.

The Westerkerk (Dutch pronunciation: [ʋɛstərkɛr(ə)k]; English: Western Church) was a Protestant church on the Kruiskade in Rotterdam, Netherlands completed in 1870 and destroyed in the bombing of Rotterdam in May 1940. The Westerkerk was designed by architect J.A. Jurriaanse in an eclectic mix of styles, the tower was neo-Gothic, front and side walls Neo-Romanesque and the interior referred to the seventeenth-century Protestant churches, like the New Church in Haarlem. The church was fully paid for by the Dutch Reformed Church itself. On December 28, 1867 procurement began. The building was eventually contracted to G. Key. On June 12, 1868 the first stone was laid and exactly two years later, First Pentecost 1870, the church was in use. The pastor during the service, Rev. W.Th. of Griethuysen, choose the text Matthew 21 verse 13: "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer." During the Bombing of Rotterdam in 1940 the church was damaged beyond repair. Replacing the Westerkerk and the Zuiderkerk in the Glashaven in 1960 was the Paulus Church in the Mauritsweg.

The Lijnbaan is the main shopping street of Rotterdam. It was opened in 1953, as the main pedestrian street in the new shopping district, after the old shopping district was completely destroyed during the bombing of Rotterdam by the German Luftwaffe. It was designed by the firm Van den Broek & Bakema led by architects Jo van den Broek and Jacob B. Bakema. It was the first purpose-built pedestrian street in Europe.Flower beds, benches, statues, aviaries and protective wooden canopies were provided. In spite of the initial fears of shopkeepers, the car-free area proved successful. High-end shops thrived and it became a recreation destination, with visitors from all over the Netherlands.It is a complete car-free zone and has been a testcase for numerous car-free shopping streets around the world, such as the pedestrianized town center in Stevenage. However in the 1980s there was a decline as the original shopkeepers retired or left, replaced by large chains. It became a night-time no-go area with shop windows protected by roller shutters. But in the 2010s a revival began, with it becoming a meeting area for more youthful customers.There are plans to redevelop the street as part of bigger redevelopments of the shopping district. The Beurstraverse (by de Architekten Cie) is an example of these redevelopments.

Rotterdam Hofplein railway station in the Netherlands is a former main-line and RandstadRail station. It was the terminus of the former Hofpleinlijn (Hofplein line) which ran trains between Rotterdam and Scheveningen, and were later curtailed to The Hague central station. It was located very close to the railway line between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Blaak, but never had a direct connection to it.

Beurs-World Trade Center is located on the Coolsingel and Beursplein in the centre of Rotterdam. It is a major business centre in Rotterdam with approximately 200 offices. The building is 93 meters high. The center is a member of the international World Trade Centers Association.

Cool is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands in the Centrum borough. It is enclosed by the Weena in the north, the Mauritsweg and Eendrachtsweg in the west, Vasteland in the south and the Coolsingel and Schiedamse Vest in the east.

The Schielandtoren (Dutch for Schieland Tower) is a 101 metres (331 feet) tall apartment building in the Dutch city Rotterdam. The building is situated along Bulgersteyn, a street, and is part of a city block with shops among other things. The city block is part of the multipurpose complex Beursplein. Het Schielandshuis, a 17th-century building, is located across the street. The building has a total of 32 aboveground floors with 109 apartments. The floor area amounts to 18,300 m2 (197,000 sq ft). A parking garage of Q-Park with 435 parking spaces is located in close proximity of the Schielandtoren.
