Chetpet Railway Station, also spelt as Chetput Railway Station, is one of the railway stations of the Chennai Beach–Chengalpattu section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Chetpet. It is situated adjacent to the Chetpet lake on the southern side, with an elevation of 9 m above sea level.

Chetpet is a locality in the Indian city of Chennai It is served by Chetpet railway station in the Beach–Tambaram line of Chennai Suburban Railway. Chetpet has a pond between the Chetpet railway station and the Poonamallee High Road, one of the last surviving natural water bodies in the city. It is the locality in Chennai where the mathematician Ramanujan died.

Chetpet lake (Chethupattu Aeri) is a lake spread over 16 acres in Chetput, Chennai, India. It is located to the north of Chetpet railway station. It is the only existing lake at the centre of the city. The lake belongs to the Department of Fisheries of the Tamil Nadu government.Of the total area of the lake, the waterbody is spread across 9.1 acres and the land area covers 6.9 acres. An anglers club was functioning till the 1940s in the lake, whose members visited the small island in the midst of the waterbody for fishing.Although not used for drinking purposes, the lake was a source of groundwater recharge for the surrounding areas. As the water quality is not saline, the lake has a few varieties of fishes such as rohu, catla and mrigal. Breeding is monitored to assess the water quality.

Pathala Ponniamman Temple is an Amman temple located in the neighbourhood of Kilpauk in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu in India. This temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Since the temple is located near the border of Purasawalkam and Kilpauk, it is also called as 'Purasawalkam Pathala Ponniamman temple'. This temple's main deity goddess is the 'family deity' of about one lakh families of Chennai and its surrounding areas. Mostly women deities dominate worshipping this temple. 'Thirukkaappu pooja' is performed here at this temple daily in between 06:15 a.m. and 06:45 a.m.

Kellys (Tamil: கெல்லீஸ்), is a sub locality of Kilpauk, and it is an important road junction in Central Chennai. Its too distinct to be addressed as a part of Kilpauk by the locals and hence they simply refer to the area as Kellys. It is proposed to implement phase II of Metro railway projects from Madhavaram to SIPCOT in Siruseri, which is corridor number 3. The route includes the areas of Madhavaram Milk Colony, Thapal petti, Murari Hospital, Moolakadai, Sembiyam, Perambur Market, Perambur Metro, Ayanavaram, Otteri, Pattalam, Perambur Barracks Road, Doveton Junction, Purasawakkam High Road and Kellys. From Kellys to Siruseri via. Chetpet, the route continues. In this corridor, comes Kellys, through which tunnelling works are to be carried out. For this, Tunnel Boring Machines from China, are to be used. The Metro railway projects are undertaken by L & T limited and to be completed by 52 months.

Srinivasa Perumal Temple is a Perumal Temple situated in Purasawalkam neighbourhood of Chennai district in Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India.It is located at an altitude of about 33 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13.081875°N 80.250920°E / 13.081875; 80.250920 (i.e., 13°04'54.8"N, 80°15'03.3"E). This temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Kumbabhishek of this temple was performed on 15 September 2017. In April 2019, Lakhsarchana was done in the temple. This temple is one of the heritage buildings, as per the draft list prepared by the CMDA (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority). Brahmotsav and Vaikunta Ekadasi are some of the important festivals celebrated in this temple.

MRF Pace Foundation is a coaching clinic for training fast bowlers from all over the world. Based in Chennai, India, it was founded in 1987 by MRF Limited, with the help of former Australian pace spearhead Dennis Lillee. Through this program, young aspiring fast bowlers are trained in a facility located at the campus of Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School, Chetpet, Chennai. Fast bowlers who have trained with the MRF Pace Foundation and gone on to represent the Indian Cricket Team include Vivek Razdan, Javagal Srinath, Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, Venkatesh Prasad, R. P. Singh, Zaheer Khan and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth. Besides Indian players, foreign players like Chaminda Vaas, Henry Olonga, Heath Streak, Mohammad Asif and Australian fast bowlers Glenn McGrath, Mitchell Johnson and Brett Lee have also trained at the Foundation. Sachin Tendulkar in his school days trained in the MRF Pace Foundation to become a fast bowler. Glenn McGrath was appointed director of the Foundation on 2 September 2012, replacing Dennis Lillee, who has held the post since its inception in 1987.Prasidh Krishna becomes the latest name, who joined the Indian Cricket Team for the Asia Cup. He's the 21st fast bowler from MRF pace Foundation.

Abirami Mega Mall was a shopping mall located in Purasawalkam, Chennai. It was constructed in 2003. Named after its owner Abirami Ramanathan, it was closed in 2019.

Kilpauk is a semi residential area located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The distance from Chennai's city to Kilpauk is about 6 km. The region is situated off the Poonamallee High Road in the west. Adjacent areas of Kilpauk include Chetpet, Kellys, Egmore, Ayanavaram, Anna Nagar, Choolaimedu and Purasawalkam. The nearest railway station for Kilpauk is the one at Chetpet. This railway station lies to the south of Kilpauk and not more than a kilometre away. There are two metro stations which connects to Kilpauk, they are Nehru Park and Kilpauk (entrance of the Kilpauk Medical College). The Chennai Airport is about 18 km from Kilpauk. This place was a cantonment area for British troops before India's independence. Today this locality is known as "Little Korea" due to the Korean population residing in this area.The neighbourhood has a historical water-treatment plant. On the other end, to the west, is the Institute of Mental Health, one of the oldest mental asyla in the continent, visited by Elizabeth II.

Vellala street, also known as Vellalar Street, is a residential street in Purasawalkam in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Vellalar is supposedly a caste name crediting to the early residents who belonged to this caste. Later these distinctions vanished and led way to more diverse residents. One of the leading figures of early literature in English R. K. Narayan and his youngest brother R. K. Laxman, an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist were living at Number 1, Vellala Street.
