Abirami Mega Mall was a shopping mall located in Purasawalkam, Chennai. It was constructed in 2003. Named after its owner Abirami Ramanathan, it was closed in 2019.

Ainsley canal is a short canal located in Chennai. The canal starts near Villivakkam railway station and connects Otteri Nullah with railway quarters and Integral Coach Factory near Ayanavaram. It runs for a length of about 3.3 kilometres (2.1 mi). It has become highly polluted, with the residents of Pilkington Road, Vasantha Garden, Appathurai Main Road, Palayakaran Street and Madurai Street dumping wastes. The plight of the canal has not improved though the railways has desilted the canal in year 2006.

Purusawalkam is a defunct legislative assembly constituency, that includes the locality, Purasawalkam of Chennai City and its surroundings. Purasawalkam assembly constituency was part of Chennai Central (Lok Sabha constituency). It was later divided between Egmore and newly created Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar assembly constituencies.

Purasaiwalkam taluk is a taluk of the city district of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It was formed in December 2013 from parts of the erstwhile Fort-Tondiarpet and Perambur-Purasawalkam taluks. It comprises the neighbourhoods of Purasawalkam, Vepery and Periamet.

Pathala Ponniamman Temple is an Amman temple located in the neighbourhood of Kilpauk in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu in India. This temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Since the temple is located near the border of Purasawalkam and Kilpauk, it is also called as 'Purasawalkam Pathala Ponniamman temple'. This temple's main deity goddess is the 'family deity' of about one lakh families of Chennai and its surrounding areas. Mostly women deities dominate worshipping this temple. 'Thirukkaappu pooja' is performed here at this temple daily in between 06:15 a.m. and 06:45 a.m.

Vellala street, also known as Vellalar Street, is a residential street in Purasawalkam in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Vellalar is supposedly a caste name crediting to the early residents who belonged to this caste. Later these distinctions vanished and led way to more diverse residents. One of the leading figures of early literature in English R. K. Narayan and his youngest brother R. K. Laxman, an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist were living at Number 1, Vellala Street.

Srinivasa Perumal Temple is a Perumal Temple situated in Purasawalkam neighbourhood of Chennai district in Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India.It is located at an altitude of about 33 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13.081875°N 80.250920°E / 13.081875; 80.250920 (i.e., 13°04'54.8"N, 80°15'03.3"E). This temple is under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. Kumbabhishek of this temple was performed on 15 September 2017. In April 2019, Lakhsarchana was done in the temple. This temple is one of the heritage buildings, as per the draft list prepared by the CMDA (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority). Brahmotsav and Vaikunta Ekadasi are some of the important festivals celebrated in this temple.

Kilpauk is a semi residential area located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The distance from Chennai's city to Kilpauk is about 6 km. The region is situated off the Poonamallee High Road in the west. Adjacent areas of Kilpauk include Chetpet, Kellys, Egmore, Ayanavaram, Anna Nagar, Choolaimedu and Purasawalkam. The nearest railway station for Kilpauk is the one at Chetpet. This railway station lies to the south of Kilpauk and not more than a kilometre away. There are two metro stations which connects to Kilpauk, they are Nehru Park and Kilpauk (entrance of the Kilpauk Medical College). The Chennai Airport is about 18 km from Kilpauk. This place was a cantonment area for British troops before India's independence. Government Kilpauk Medical College (GKMC), founded in 1960, is a government medical institution in India. There are four hospitals attached to GKMC - Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. They are Government Royapettah Hospital, Government Thiruvotteeswarar Hospital of Thoracic Medicine, Government Peripheral Hospital, K.K.Nagar and Government Peripheral Hospital, Anna Nagar. The college is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. It offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The hospital is the third in the government sector, after the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and the Government Royapettah Hospital, to have a full-fledged emergency department, which includes triage area, resuscitation bay and colour-coded zones, per the Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Care Initiative (TAEI) guidelines. The hospital is recognised as a level II trauma care centre. The zero-delay ward of the hospital receives an average of 40 to 50 cases every day.

Kerala Vidyalayam Higher Secondary School is located at Dasaprakash, Chennai, India. Most of the Malayalam children study there. The school was organized by the Madras Kerala Samaj. Purasawalkam Gangadeeswarar Temple is a Shiva Temple situated in Purasawalkam neighbourhood of Chennai district in Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. It is a five-tiered temple. The main deity of this temple is Gangadeeswarar and deity goddess is Pankajambal. This temple is maintained under the control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. This temple is considered to have the same glory as Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This is the shrine of the 108th Shiv Lingam consecrated by Bhagirathan, a descendant of Sagaran of the Raghu dynasty. The temple was built, renovated and repaired by Kulothunga Chola II.Gangadeeswarar temple is located at an altitude of about 53 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 13.084645°N 80.254325°E / 13.084645; 80.254325. Theppa Utsavam is usually held for 3 days on the occasion of Thai Poosa festival every year in the Pond (Theppakulam) in this very ancient temple. A canal has also been constructed to bring water to this temple pond. Rain water harvesting is done on the roads around the temple and to make rain water connections to store the rain water from them in the temple tank and to filter in them to store clean water.
