Hampton Park Secondary College

Hampton Park is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 36 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Hampton Park recorded a population of 26,082 at the 2021 census.Hampton Park is bounded by the South Gippsland Freeway in the west, Centre Road in the north, a line generally parallel to Langbourne Drive in the east, and Glasscocks Road in the south.The original development of Hampton Park dates from the post World War I era, when the area around Somerville Road was subdivided, with the Post Office opening on 22 November 1920. Electricity was connected in Hampton Park in 1942 and town water in 1961. Until these services were connected the people relied on lamps and tank water for their light and water needs. Significant development of the area commenced in the 1970s, with development continuing through to the present. Development in the neighbouring Lynbrook estate commenced in 1994. The Hampton Park and Lynbrook areas have significant areas of land remaining for development. Hampton Park, Lynbrook and Lyndhurst form a growing residential area that has experienced a significant increase in population from 1996 to 2001. This increase in population has occurred due to an increase in the dwelling stock from 1996 to 2001.

Lynbrook is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 36 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Lynbrook recorded a population of 9,121 at the 2021 census.Lynbrook is positioned on the South Gippsland Highway, slightly north-west of Cranbourne, and just south of the residential suburb of Hampton Park. Lynbrook is bounded by Dandenong Hastings Road in the west, the South Gippsland Freeway in the north, by a line north of Merinda Park railway station in the east, and the railway line in the south.The suburb was developed by VicUrban, starting in 1994. A special feature of the VicUrban development is the stormwater catchment which flows into the lake and wetlands where it is purified before being released into Dandenong Creek and into Port Phillip Bay. Prior to 1994, the area now occupied by Lynbrook was part of Lyndhurst. There are two primary schools, one State and one Catholic. There is a central shopping centre with Coles and a range of strip shops with take away food and eateries, a gym, medical centre, pharmacy, news agency, butcher, bakery, and hair and beauty. There is also a Community Center, child care centres, vet, kindergarten and maternal child health nurse. Lynbrook has a local resident's group, the Lynbrook Residents Association (LRA), who advocate to Local, State and Federal Government on behalf of residents with local issues. They also host a number of Community Events to bring the community together to create a sense of belonging and community in Lynbrook.

Lyndhurst is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 36 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Casey and Greater Dandenong local government areas. Lyndhurst recorded a population of 8,926 at the 2021 census.Lyndhurst Post Office opened on 1 January 1867 and closed in 1976.After the Bracks government's decisions to abandon plans for a toxic waste dump near Mildura, the continued use of the existing Lyndhurst facility was part of the replacement plan.The Casey side of Lyndhurst lies inside the Urban Growth Boundary, and the development phase is almost complete. The Greater Dandenong side (to the west of the Western Port Highway) is outside the Urban Growth Boundary and is semi rural, and forms part of the South Eastern green wedge. In 2009 the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development purchased a 3.5-hectare site within Marriott Waters and earmarked the site for Lyndhurst Primary School. The Prep to Year 6 primary school opened in 2011 and was built under the Partnerships Victoria in Schools Model which has seen the school built and maintained through public–private partnership arrangements between the Victorian state government and Axiom Education.Lyndhurst railway station was located in the suburb on the Cranbourne line, but did not see any passenger traffic. Freight traffic to the cement facility ended in 2009. Passenger rail in the area is now serviced by Lynbrook or Merinda Park stations.

Lyndhurst is a former railway station on the South Gippsland (now Cranbourne) line. In 1979, it had a single platform on the east side of the track, and a loop siding.The station was served by passenger trains to Leongatha and Yarram until their withdrawal in June 1981, and then by Dandenong to Lang Lang railmotors until their withdrawal in October 1981. Although passenger trains between Melbourne and Leongatha were restored between 1984 and 1993, Lyndhurst station was not re-opened. The platform has been demolished. In the 1969 Melbourne Transportation Plan, a new passenger line was proposed linking Frankston and Lyndhurst. Cement traffic from Waurn Ponds near Geelong, to a siding serving a concrete batching plant operated by Boral, ended in 2009, after Pacific National increased the costs charged to Blue Circle Southern. The siding and the silo were removed in 2021 to make way for the duplication of the Cranbourne line.

Dandenong and Berwick was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria from 1889 to 1904. It was located south-east of Melbourne, in the area around Dandenong and Berwick.

Hallam recorded a population of 11,355 at the 2021 census.The suburb has its own railway station. Hallam is bounded by the South Gippsland Freeway in the west, Eumemmerring Creek and Hallam North Road in the north, a drain easement in the east, and Centre Road in the south.

General Motors is a disused railway station on the Gippsland line in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was previously served by Pakenham line commuter rail services, as part of the suburban rail system. It is located between Dandenong and Hallam stations, in the suburb of Dandenong South.

Narre Warren South College is a school in Narre Warren South, Victoria, Australia. Narre Warren South P–12 College commenced operations in 2002 but was not officially opened until 2007. The prep to twelve college actually began as a prep to year seven school in 2002 and it was not until 2007 (when it was officially opened) that the college went to year 12. The college is broken up into two sections, primary years (prep to grade 6), secondary years (7–12). Each sub-school has a coordinator and a leader's council that deals with the day-to-day workings of each year. As well as VCE, the school is also a strong endorsee of VCAL and provides that option for all students entering year 12. The college is recognized for its outstanding VCE results, having attained median VCE study scores of 33 in 2020, and 32 in the years previously. It has also won 30 VCAL State Achievement Awards. In 2016, the college placed second in the state in the Junior Division of Battle of the Bands. Since 2017, the college has been recognized as a DET "Influence" school because of its consistently outstanding performance. In 2018, the college was awarded the Lindsay Thompson Fellowship at the Victorian Education Excellence Awards, and in 2019 was recognized by The Age newspaper as the top Government School in Southern Melbourne.

South Eastern Province was an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Council from November 1882. It was created in the redistribution of provinces in 1882 when the original provinces of Central and Eastern were abolished. The new South Eastern, South Yarra, North Yarra, North Eastern, North Central, Melbourne East, Melbourne North, Melbourne South and Melbourne West Provinces were then created.The Legislative Council Act, 1881, created and defined the South Eastern Province as consisting of the following Divisions: Alexandra, Yea, Eltham, Lilydale, Bulleen, Boroondara, Nunawading, Malvern, Caulfield, Oakleigh, Moorabbin, Dandenong, Berwick, Cranbourne, Mornington, Flinders, Phillip Island and Brighton.It was abolished at the 2006 state election in the wake of the Bracks Labor government's reform of the Legislative Council.
