Ince Power Station

Ince & Elton railway station, on the Hooton–Helsby line, serves both Ince and Elton in Cheshire, England. The station is unstaffed.

Elton is a village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire, England, 13 km (8.1 mi) northeast of Chester, between Helsby and Ellesmere Port, near the River Mersey. Its proximity to the Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal have contributed to its industrial character. The village is on the north-western edge of the Cheshire Plain, 2.5 km (1.6 mi) from Stanlow Refinery. At the 2011 census, the village had a population of 3,586.

Chester services is a motorway service area on the M56 motorway in Cheshire, England. The site is approximately 10 mi (16 km) from Chester city centre. Operated by Roadchef, it is the only motorway service area on the M56 and the last before heading into North Wales.

Ince is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is situated immediately to the east of the Stanlow Oil Refinery. It shares Ince & Elton railway station with the village of Elton, which it runs into. According to the 2001 census it was recorded as having a population of 209. By the 2011 census this had marginally reduced to 203.Ince Park is being developed near the village.

Ince Manor or Ince Grange is a former monastic grange in the village of Ince in Cheshire, England. The remains of the manor house, consisting of the old hall and the monastery cottages, are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and a scheduled monument It is one of only two surviving monastic manorial buildings in Cheshire, the other being Saighton Grange Gatehouse.

Hapsford is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Dunham-on-the-Hill and Hapsford, in the unitary authority area of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is located on the A5117 road, with Helsby to the east and the village of Elton, near Ellesmere Port, to the north west. Junction 14 of the M56 motorway and Chester services motorway service station are sited nearby. At the 2001 Census the population of Hapsford civil parish was recorded as 129, increasing slightly to 133 at the 2011 census.

Hapsford Hall is a country house about 1 mile (1.6 km) south-west of Helsby, Cheshire, England. It was built in the late 18th or early 19th century and incorporates a former farmhouse; additions and alterations have been made since it was built. It is constructed in brick and stone, stands on a stone plinth, and has stone quoins and a hipped slate roof. The house is in three storeys, with cellars and an attic, and has a symmetrical front of three bays. Most of the windows on the front are sashes; elsewhere are casement windows. An embattled stone porch projects from the centre. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.Also listed at Grade II is a barn to the south of the house. This was built at about the same date as the house. It is also constructed in brick, stands on a stone plinth and has a slate roof. The barn has a five-bay north front. The second and fourth bays contain recessed arches and air-vents; the other bays have arched openings, one of which is blocked, above which are pitch holes. The south front is similar, but has square windows in the ground floor of the lateral bays, and its pitch holes are blocked.

Ince Hall was a country house near Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, England. It stood in the grounds of the ruined Stanlow Abbey. It was a house in Italianate style that was extended by the Lancaster firm of architects Sharpe and Paley in 1849. The extension cost at least £7,448 (equivalent to £820,000 in 2021). At this time it was occupied by Eliza Jane Waldegrave, daughter of the architect Edmund Sharpe's godfather Edmund Yates. The hall was demolished in the middle of the 20th century, and its site is now occupied by the Stanlow Refinery.During the second world war Ince Hall was used by the Shell Oil company to house operations which had been evacuated from London. This included a team working on Operation Pluto ("pipelines under the ocean"), a project to supply fuel to the Allies after the 1944 Normandy landings.

The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Dunham Hill railway station was a railway station in Dunham-on-the-Hill, Cheshire. It was opened in 1850 and closed in 1952. Near to the station was a branch line leading to the former ROF Dunham on the Hill explosives storage depot. The station buildings were demolished after closure but the platforms remained until the 1970s.

Dunham-on-the-Hill is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Dunham-on-the-Hill and Hapsford, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester, and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is on the A56 road, approximately 2.3 miles (3.7 km) from Helsby and 6 miles (9.7 km) from Chester. The village is 120 feet (37 m) above sea level, south west of Helsby Hill. Originally a small hamlet, it has gradually enlarged over the twentieth century, although the village retains a semi-rural character. Council housing was built shortly after the Second World War behind ‘The Wheatsheaf' pub, with many of these properties now owner occupied. Other in-fill building in the village has increased the population of the parish from fewer than 300 in the early 1900s to 534 recorded in the 2001 census. This decreased slightly to 501 at the time of the 2011 census. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form Dunham-on-the-Hill and Hapsford, part also went to Manley.
