Calvary Murrieta Christian Schools (CMCS) is a private Christian school education system in Murrieta, California, United States, which was founded by the Calvary Chapel of Murrieta Church. CMCS runs three schools at Pre-School, Elementary and Junior High level and is based at 24275 Monroe Avenue, Murrieta, CA 92562.

The Temecula Valley is a graben rift valley in western Riverside County, California. The Temecula Valley is one of the graben valleys making up the Elsinore Trough, created by the Elsinore Fault Zone. It lies between the Wildomar Fault on the east, at the foot of the Temescal Mountains and of the Temecula Basin and the Willard Fault on the west, at the foot of the Santa Ana Mountains. The Temecula Valley lies northwest of Temecula Creek, and its head (33°36′46″N 117°17′33″W) is south of the Elsinore Valley, from which it is divided by a low rise between the Temescal and Santa Ana Mountains. The valley is drained by Murrieta Creek, Temecula Creek, and their tributaries. Their confluence forms the Santa Margarita River.The original centers of the cities of Murrieta, Temecula and Wildomar are located in the Temecula Valley.

Murrieta experienced a 133.7% population increase between 2000 and 2010, making Murrieta one of the fastest-growing cities in the state during that period. Largely residential in character, Murrieta is typically characterized as a bedroom community. Murrieta is bordered by the city of Temecula to the south, the cities of Menifee and Wildomar to the north, and the unincorporated community of French Valley to the east. Murrieta is located in the center of the Los Angeles-San Diego mega-region. Murrieta is named for Juan Murrieta, a Californio ranchero who founded the town.

Murrieta Mesa High School (MMHS) is a comprehensive, four-year high school located in Murrieta, California, United States. It is operated by the Murrieta Valley Unified School District. The school opened in 2009 to keep up with population growth in Murrieta. The first graduating class was the class of 2012. The school derives its name from the mesa it sits on, identified in an 1884 surveyor's map of the valley.

Rancho Santa Rosa was a 47,815-acre (193.50 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Riverside County, California given in 1846 by Governor Pio Pico to Juan Moreno. At the time of the US patent, Rancho Santa Rosa was a part of San Diego County. Riverside County was created by the California Legislature in 1893 by taking land from both San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. The site is now registered as a California Historical Landmark.

The Santa Rosa Plateau is an upland plateau and southeastern extension of the Santa Ana Mountains in Riverside County, southern California. It is bounded by the rapidly urbanizing Inland Empire cities of Murrieta and Temecula to the northeast and southeast, respectively. The Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve preserves approximately 8,400 acres (34 km2) of the plateau, and includes the Moreno and Machado Adobes, Riverside County’s oldest standing structures, and other buildings from the 19th century Mexican land grant Rancho Santa Rosa.

The Tenaja Fire was a wildfire in the rural community of La Cresta southwest of Murrieta in Riverside County, California, United States, located 80 miles from Los Angeles. The fire broke out on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 and ballooned to 1,926 acres (8 km2) over the course of two days. The blaze, dubbed the Tenaja fire after igniting along Tenaja Road and Clinton Keith Road in La Cresta, forced the evacuation of over 1,200 people and lead to the closure of multiple school districts in the Murrieta, Perris and Lake Elsinore area due to the poor air quality. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation although several sources cited the possibility of lightning being the direct cause. Two structures were damaged as a result of the fire and one firefighter suffered minor injuries. The fire was contained on September 14 and had burned 1,926 acres (779 ha).Final Report concluded that wind and SCE power line were the cause: “On Wednesday. September 4, 2019 at approximately 3:57 PM, units from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), the Riverside County Fire Department (RCOD) were dispatched to a reported vegetation fire located in the area of Tenaja Road and Clinton Keith Road, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Murrieta. Units arrived on scene to find a well-established vegetation fire that had consumed several acres and was being driven by a 20-25 MPH wind towards the northeast. Wind shifts were also reported in the early stages of the incident. Due to the first 911 call, the fire was placed into the CAL FIRE system as a lightning caused fire. This was a possible cause at the time due to a thunder storm which had moved across the City of Temecula and into the Murrieta area. CAL FIRE investigators responded to the incident the following day to conduct an origin and cause investigation. CAL FIRE Officer W-4 Greg EWING conducted the origin and cause investigation. After observing fire patterns, the fire's General Origin Area (GOA) was determined to be in the wildland on the northwest side of the Tenaja Road and Clinton Keith intersection The final cause of the fire was determined to have been a direct result of powerline conductor slap. Southern California Edison (SCE) conductors arced when they swung and touched or became close enough to cause an arc due to winds in the area. This arc allowed the hot material to fall to the ground igniting the vegetation downwind. The Tenaja Fire ultimately consumed 1,939 acres of vegetation which was property owned by V-1 Riverside County Region Park and Open Space District and V-2 Department of Fish and Wildlife.”

Rancho Temecula was a 26,609-acre (107.68 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Riverside County, California given on December 14, 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Feliz Valdez. The grant extended south along the east bank Murrieta Creek to Temecula Creek and encompassed present-day Temecula, Murrieta and Murrieta Hot Springs. California Lutheran High School (CLHS) California Lutheran is a private, college-preparatory, Christian high school in Wildomar, California, United States. Students come from the Temecula metro area, Lake Elsinore, and Riverside County. International students enroll from China, South Korea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Japan, Brazil, and Hong Kong, among others. California Lutheran is an Area Lutheran High School operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Linda Rosa, or Linda Rose, is a former populated place, formerly in San Diego County, now in Riverside County, California. The town site of Linda Rosa was located southwest of the old town of Murrieta, California on the west side of Murrieta Creek. Linda Rosa is a name derived from Spanish meaning "pretty rose".Linda Rosa was one of the many land development schemes of the 1880s in Southern California. In 1887, the Santa Rosa Land & Improvement Company, belonging to the Englishman, Parker Dear, owner of the Rancho Santa Rosa subdivided the 400-acre Linda Rosa Tract southwest of Murrieta along the California Southern Railroad line. The company spent approximately $5,000 building a depot, but the railroad did not make Linda Rosa a scheduled stop. The Linda Rosa Hotel was built by the land company in 1888 at an estimated cost of $15,000. The large hotel provided a place where visitors and land buyers could stay.Linda Rosa Fruit Canning and Preserving Company was formed on June 30, 1888, to grow and can fruit and vegetables. Linda Rosa had its own post office, Linda Rose, from November 20, 1888, to March 20, 1890. When the land boom went bust, the town lots failed to sell and the office was closed and mail service was moved to Temecula Station. The hotel was torn down and used to build a house. With the failure of his development, Parker Dear went bankrupt and lost the rancho to his bank in 1893.

Wildomar is a city in southwest Riverside County, California, United States. The city was incorporated on July 1, 2008. As of the 2020 census, the population was 36,875. The community has grown very quickly during the early twenty-first century; the population has more than doubled since the 2000 census, when the community was still an unincorporated census-designated place.
