Texas Station

The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park, informally known as the Las Vegas Zoo, was a 3-acre (1.2 ha), nonprofit zoo and botanical garden located in Las Vegas, Nevada that operated from 1981 to September 20, 2013. It was located northwest of the Las Vegas Strip, about 15 minutes away. It focused primarily on the education of desert life and habitat protection. Its mission statement was to "educate and entertain the public by displaying a variety of plants and animals". An admission fee was charged. The park included a small gem exhibit area and a small gift shop at the main exit. The gift shop and admission fees helped support the zoo.

Fiesta Rancho is a hotel and casino located on 25.46 acres (10.30 ha) of land at 2400 North Rancho Drive in North Las Vegas, Nevada, across the street from the Texas Station hotel and casino. The Maloof family opened the Fiesta on December 14, 1994, with 100 rooms and a 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2) casino. The resort was popular among local residents, prompting a 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) expansion that began in 1995. The expansion included a drive-through sportsbook, a remodeled buffet, and a larger casino. A $26 million, 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) expansion took place in 1999, adding a food court, a parking garage, and additional casino space. At the time, a majority of the Fiesta's slot machines played video poker, and the casino had been proclaimed as "the Royal Flush Capital of the World," having paid out over 118,500 royal flushes won through its video poker machines. Station Casinos purchased the Fiesta in 2001 and renamed it as Fiesta Rancho to differentiate it from its new sister property, Fiesta Henderson.

North Las Vegas Airport (IATA: VGT, ICAO: KVGT, FAA LID: VGT) is three miles northwest of downtown Las Vegas, in North Las Vegas, in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is owned by the Clark County Commission and operated by the Clark County Department of Aviation. Known locally as Northtown, it is the second–busiest public use government airport in the Las Vegas area and the third-busiest in Nevada. It is the primary airport in the Las Vegas area for general aviation and scenic tours, allowing Harry Reid International Airport to focus on airline flights. North Las Vegas offered limited regional airline service by Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines in the early 2000s. Many helicopter operators including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department use the airport. The airport is certificated under 14 CFR Part 139.

KRLV (920 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, serving the Las Vegas area. Owned by Lotus Communications, KRLV airs a sports radio format focused on the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League. The station's studios and offices are located in the unincorporated community of Spring Valley in Clark County. A secondary studio is located at the Raiders headquarters and practice facility in Henderson. The transmitter is located off Wild Jan Drive, northwest of downtown Las Vegas.

Advanced Technologies Academy (A-TECH) is a magnet public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It focuses on integrating technology with academics for students in grades 9-12. The magnet school program was founded in 1994 and is part of the Clark County School District. The first year included only 9th and 10th grade, adding a grade each year. The first graduating class was 1997, and the first graduating class with all four years of attendance was 1998. The magnet school focuses on computer and technology related study fields. As of 2021, A-TECH is ranked #1 in the state of Nevada and #152 nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

The Las Vegas Springs or Big Springs is the site of a natural oasis, known traditionally as a cienega. For more than 15,000 years, springs broke through the desert floor, creating grassy meadows (called las vegas by Mexican explorers). The bubbling springs were a source of water for Native Americans living here at least 5,000 years ago. Known as The Birthplace of Las Vegas it sustained travelers of the Old Spanish Trail and Mormons who came to settle the West. The springs' source is the Las Vegas aquifer.The springs are now a part of the Las Vegas Springs Preserve. Las Vegas Springs was once the site of three springs, running into two large pools of water. It is a site historically known for a gathering of pioneers and Native Americans and early settlers in the Las Vegas Valley. In 1905, it provided the water source to the budding town and railroad. Once pipe lines were laid and wells were drilled, the water table dropped, and the springs stopped flowing to the surface in 1962. The site is currently undergoing rehabilitation to protect what remains architecturally and archaeologically.Now, it is 180 acres of historic land located just west of Downtown Las Vegas. It is open to the public.

Western High School is a public high school under the Clark County School District in Nevada, United States. The school opened in 1960, and was the third high school built in Las Vegas, Nevada, after Las Vegas High School (1931) and Rancho High School (1954). The campus is located at 4601 West Bonanza Road, Las Vegas, Nevada. In March 2011 Western was identified as one of five "persistently" low-performing schools in Clark County, Nevada, eligible for federal School Improvement grants. Under the turnaround model for school improvement Western introduced a curriculum of science, technology, engineering and math.

The Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas located at the Springs Preserve, in Las Vegas, Nevada is one of 7 Nevada State Museums operated by the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. The name was changed from the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society in 2008 when the museum moved from Lorenzi Park in Las Vegas to the Springs Preserve campus. The museum houses items from the development of Las Vegas as well as the natural history of the area. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Meadows Mall is a shopping mall in Las Vegas, Nevada on 84 acres (34 ha). It is a two-story enclosed mall with 960,000 ft² of space. The mall has 118 stores and 5 anchors. It is surrounded by 4,900 surface parking spaces in four different color-coded lots (Red, Blue, Yellow and Green). Its anchor stores are Curacao, a Dillard's clearance outlet, J. C. Penney, and Macy's.

Las Vegas Springs Preserve consists of 180 acres (73 ha) dedicated to nature walks and displays and is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. The Preserve is located approximately three miles west of downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Preserve is built around the original water source for Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Springs. The Springs Preserve includes colorful desert botanical gardens, museum galleries, outdoor concert and event venues, an indoor theater, historic photo gallery and a series of walking trails that meander through a wetland habitat. The Gardens at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, previously known as the Desert Demonstration Gardens opened in 1980 at another location. The gardens now occupy 8 acres (3.2 ha) within the Springs Preserve site.

Bigelow Aerospace is an American aeronautics and outer space technology company which manufactures and develops expandable space station modules. Bigelow Aerospace was founded by Robert Bigelow in 1998, and is based in North Las Vegas, Nevada. It is funded in large part by the profit Bigelow gained through his ownership of the hotel chain, Budget Suites of America.By 2013, Bigelow had invested US$250 million in the company. Bigelow stated on a number of occasions that he was prepared to fund Bigelow Aerospace with about US$500 million through 2015 in order to achieve launch of full-scale hardware.Bigelow Aerospace announced in 2010 that they intended to create a modular set of space habitats for creating or expanding space stations but despite many concepts and models, never completed a working space station beyond two small prototypes that flew in 2006 and 2007. In March 2020, the company laid off all 88 of its employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and planned to rehire staff when conditions permitted.
