Cosgrove, Northamptonshire

The Grafton Way is a 13-mile (21 km) (also measured at 11.5 miles or 18.5 kilometres) footpath in Northamptonshire, England. It runs south east from Greens Norton to Cosgrove (or Wolverton), where it meets the Knightley Way. It is named after the Dukes of Grafton, major land-owners in the area in the 18th and 19th centuries.It is recognised by the Long Distance Walkers Association and is marked on Ordnance Survey maps.The walk starts in the centre of Greens Norton, and heads south east, skirting the south-west edge of Towcester. It passes through the hamlet of Pury End near Paulerspury, and crosses the A5 road (the ancient Watling Street) before passing the south-west of Yardley Gobion and the deserted village of Furtho to reach Cosgrove on the Grand Union Canal. Some descriptions of the walk stop here, others continue along the canal tow-path to Old Wolverton on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.

Cosgrove Hall is an early-18th-century Grade II listed country house in Cosgrove, Northamptonshire. It was built on the site of an earlier house by the Furtho family. It is not open to the public. It may have been built by John Lumley of Northampton. In the nineteenth century, the building belonged to John Christopher Mansel. In May 1945, Queen Geraldine of Albania, the Queen consort to King Zog I of Albania, opened a fête at the hall. The building was destroyed by fire in October 2016. As well as the hall the other Grade II buildings on the estate are the dovecote, the stable block and the ice house. In front of the house, there is an excavated Roman bath house, viewable from the Grand Union Canal.

Cosgrove aqueduct is a navigable cast iron trough navigable aqueduct that carries the Grand Union Canal over the River Great Ouse, on the borders between Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire at the northwest margin of Milton Keynes in England. The present structure was built in 1811, to replace a previous brick structure that had failed. When the present structure was erected, it was known as the "Iron Trunk". The structure has two cast iron trough spans, with a single central masonry pier. The abutments were constructed in masonry but have been refaced in brick during the twentieth century. The trough is 15 feet (4.6 m) wide, 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m) deep, with a total length of 101 feet (31 m). The canal surface is about 40 feet (12 m) above the surface of the river. There are large approach earthworks about 36 feet (11 m) high above the valley floor and 150 feet (46 m) wide, with a total length of half a mile (800m).

Stony Stratford Town F.C. is a football club based in Stony Stratford, a constituent town of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. The Senior Team are currently members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two and play at Ostler's Lane. The club also has both development and competitive youth teams from under-7 to under-18 that play in The Milton Keynes District Development League. For 2022/23 season the club will field two girls teams in the Bedfordshire FA Girls League, and a Sunday Development team in the Wharfside Electrical MK Sunday League.

Castlethorpe is a village and civil parish with a population of about 1000 in the unitary authority area of the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. It is about 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Stony Stratford, 4 miles (6.4 km) north-west of Newport Pagnell and 7 miles (11 km) north of Central Milton Keynes. It is separated from the county of Northamptonshire by the River Tove.

Castlethorpe railway station was a railway station serving the Buckinghamshire village of the same name in what is now the City of Milton Keynes, on the West Coast Main Line in England. The station was located south of the bridge over the current line on what remains Station Road.

The Wolverton and Stony Stratford Tramway was a narrow gauge street tramway connecting Wolverton railway station and the Wolverton Works of the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) with Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire. Although its financial situation was always precarious, except for a period of just under two years between 1889 and 1891, the line was in continuous operation from 1887 to 1926. Between May 1888 to December 1889, an extension also ran from Stony Stratford to Deanshanger in Northamptonshire, via Old Stratford. Unusually for a British street tramway, it was worked entirely by steam locomotives, and was the last of its type to remain in operation.

Stony Stratford is a constituent town of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. Historically it was a market town on the important route from London to Chester (Watling Street). It is also the name of a civil parish with a town council in the City of Milton Keynes. It is in the north-west corner of the Milton Keynes urban area, bordering Northamptonshire and separated from it by the River Great Ouse.

St Mary & St Giles Church is a parish church in Stony Stratford, in Milton Keynes (in north Buckinghamshire), England.

Castlethorpe Castle stood in the village of Castlethorpe, to the north of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. This was originally a motte and bailey castle with a timber structure built by Winemar, the Flemish Lord of Hanslope in the 11th or 12th Century. It was at that time known as Hanslope Castle. The castle was destroyed in 1215 by Faulkes de Breauté during the First Barons' War and was never rebuilt. Today only the earthworks remain.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is a Grade II* listed church, incorporating Saxon and medieval elements, located in the town of Wolverton, Buckinghamshire, England. The modern church was rebuilt between 1809 and 1815.

Church of St Simon and St Jude Church is a late 12th century parish church in Castlethorpe, City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. It was formerly a chapelry of Hanslope. Of note is the Norman font with figures at the corners. It was designated a Grade I listed building in 1966.
