Acton Turville is a parish in the Cotswold Edge ward within South Gloucestershire, England. It lies 17 miles (27 km) east-northeast of Bristol and 93 miles (150 km) due west of London, with the M4 south of the parish. Acton Turville consists of a cluster of households across 1,009 acres, with a total population of 370 people. Acton Turville is also listed as "Achetone" in the Domesday Book.According to John Marius in 1870, From the imperial gazetteer of England and Wales - Acton Turville is: "a parish in Chipping Sodbury district, Gloucester; near the Fosse way and under the Cotswold Hills. It lies 5.5 miles east of Chipping Sodbury, and 7.5 miles east of Yate railway station".

St Michael and All Angels is a Grade I listed church on the estate of the Duke of Beaufort in the village of Great Badminton, Gloucestershire, England. Attached to the Duke of Beaufort's residence, Badminton House, it is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Gloucester. Although within the grounds of the Badminton Estate, the church is owned, and its upkeep met, by the Badminton's Parochial Church Council, rather than the Ducal estate. There is a smaller church of the same name in the neighbouring hamlet of Little Badminton.

Little Badminton is a village in South Gloucestershire, England. The 1965 romantic drama movie Sky West and Crooked (known in the United States as Gypsy Girl) directed by John Mills and featuring Hayley Mills was filmed entirely in and around Little Badminton.

Chipping Sodbury Tunnel is a railway tunnel that is situated on the South Wales Main Line in England. It runs under the Cotswold Hills for 4444 yards, approximately 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) west of Badminton railway station and Chipping Sodbury Yard. The tunnel was built between 1897 and 1902; it was amongst the last of the major railway tunnels to be constructed in Britain. Built to hide the line from the nearby Badminton House, a total of six crenellated ventilation shafts are present. The tunnel was built with a mess room at the mid piont so that maintenance crews could remain in the tunnel for the whole working day/ night. Due the tunnel passing through an underground aquifer, it has been particularly prone to flooding and associated closures. It was also a secondary target for Luftwaffe bombing during the Second World War. Numerous remedial works and improvements have been made to the tunnel throughout its service life. Such works have largely been centred around improving its drainage and other measures to reduce the occurrence of flood-related closures. A new high-capacity drainage system was installed during the 2010s. In the same decade, the tunnel was temporarily closed as part of the modernisation of the Great Western main line, for which overhead electrification equipment was installed throughout its length, enabling electric traction to traverse the tunnel.

Nettleton is a village and civil parish about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northwest of Chippenham in Wiltshire, England. The parish includes the villages of Burton and West Kington, and the hamlets of Horsedown, Nettleton Shrub and West Kington Wick. The northern section of Nettleton village is known as Nettleton Green. Until 1934, Burton and Nettleton were separate parishes.

West Kington is a village in the civil parish of Nettleton, in Wiltshire, England. The village lies in the steeply wooded valley of the Broadmead Brook, a source of the Bybrook River, and is close to the county boundary with Gloucestershire. It is 6 miles (10 km) southeast of the Gloucestershire market town of Chipping Sodbury. In 1931 the parish had a population of 225. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Nettleton. The hamlet of West Kington Wick is 0.6 miles (0.97 km) southeast of the village at grid reference ST 8163 7665.

Lugbury Long Barrow is a prehistoric long barrow in Wiltshire, England, about 0.6 miles (1 km) east of Nettleton and about 1 mile (1.6 km) north-west of Castle Combe. The site, excavated in the 19th century, is a scheduled monument.

Luckington is a village and civil parish in the southern Cotswolds, in north-west Wiltshire, England, about 6+1⁄2 miles (10 km) west of Malmesbury. The village is on the B4040 road linking Malmesbury and Chipping Sodbury. The parish is on the county border with Gloucestershire and includes the village of Alderton and the hamlet of Brook End.

Fosse Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse in the English Cotswolds near the Fosse Way and Castle Combe. It is now used to provide hospitality and accommodation, including bed and breakfast rooms in the main farmhouse and self-contained, self-catering quarters in converted farm buildings — the former barn, dairy and stables. It is especially popular with Japanese since a couple visited in 1989. The proprietor, Caron Cooper, visited Japan where she hosted afternoon tea with scones at the British embassy. The guests included Prince Mikasa and his family, who subsequently came to stay at the farmhouse for three days. In 2012, it was used as a location for the popular Japanese comic and TV animation, Kin-iro Mosaic, and fans of that series now come to stay at the farmhouse too.
