Alexis is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. It is located approximately three miles north of Stanley. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 589. Alexis was incorporated in 1899. Alexis was formerly named Alex's Cross Roads, for an individual named Alexander who owned land in the area. The community is in Gaston County, but official residents of the community (by zip code) live in both Gaston and Lincoln counties. The zip code for Alexis is 28006.

Magnolia Grove is a historic plantation house located near Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina. It was built about 1824, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five bay by two bay, style brick dwelling with a Quaker plan interior. It has a gable roof, sits on a full raised basement, and one-story hip-roof porches on the front and rear facades.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, with a boundary increase in 1997.

WLNK (107.9 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to serve Charlotte, North Carolina. The station is owned by Urban One. WLNK broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format. The station's studios are located off Morehead Street, just west of Uptown Charlotte, and its transmitter is located in north-central Gaston County. In addition, WBTV's studios continue to house the operations of its former sister radio stations currently owned by Urban One: WBT-AM/FM and WLNK, as well as WFNZ, which was previously owned by CBS Radio prior to its acquisition by Beasley Broadcast Group in 2014, followed by Entercom (now known as Audacy) in late 2017 and then Urban One in 2020 under a local marketing agreement.

WOSF is the only commercial station licensed to the South Carolina side of the market that brands itself as a full-market Charlotte station. Indeed, it is the only South Carolina-licensed commercial station that covers Charlotte to any significant extent.
