St Mary's is an inner city area of Southampton in England. It consists of two areas separated by Six Dials junction. The northern section of the district is bounded by St Mary's Road and some streets to the west and the area to the east is Nicholstown-Newtown. The northern section is home to the fire station.The majority of St Mary's is in the southern portion, to the east of St Mary Street. This is where St Mary's church is located, from which the suburb's name originates. The southern section is also home to the Golden Grove area. It is bordered on the east by the rail lines (the other side of these lines is the district of Chapel). It gives its name to St Mary's Stadium, where Southampton Football Club play, although the stadium itself is in the neighbouring suburb of Northam.

The Joiners is a small music venue in a former pub (The Joiners Arms) on St Mary Street, St Mary's, Southampton, England. It has played host to many up-and-coming bands. The pub started having live acts in the back room in 1968. The maximum capacity is 200 people.In 2013, the venue was named Britain's best small music venue in a competition run by NME.In December 2006, writer Oliver Gray published a book entitled Access One Step: The Official History of the Joiners Arms, which documents the history of the venue and includes a foreword by Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows.

Surge Radio is an English student radio station based at the University of Southampton. Founded in 1976 as Radio Heffalump, the station was renamed Radio Glen the following year and originally broadcast from the university's Glen Eyre Halls complex.

City College Southampton is a general further education college located in Southampton, Hampshire, England. The college has around 1000 full-time, 2500 part-time students and 450 apprentices each year. It offers a wide choice of full-time vocational courses including art & design, beauty, hairdressing, media, hospitality and catering, IT, performing arts, construction, engineering, business studies, care, travel & tourism, childcare, marine technology, boat building and technical theatre. The college teaches career-focused courses for young people and adults, both students and apprentices from 16 years old and further (no one is ever too old to learn). There are courses at all levels to prepare students for work or university and to improve key life skills. These include HNDs and HNCs, Access to Higher Education, BTEC Extended Diplomas and many other types of vocational course to give students the qualifications they need. The college trains apprentices. All of its apprentices are employed by a local business and train some of the time at college. Major local firms such as Griffon Hoverworks have high quality apprenticeship schemes. It runs other training courses for businesses and other organisations such as the local hospitals and City Council. Since September 2017 Solent University's Warsash Maritime School has been located at the campus.

St. Mary's Church, Southampton is a Church of England parish church, and the largest church in the port city of Southampton on the south coast of England. It is the mother church of this city with its forerunners spanning back to the first Saxon settlements of the 7th century, including a major collegiate church of the European Middle Ages dedicated to the same patron saint. Its name has been used nearby for major street names and in St Mary's Stadium, the city's largest sports stadium. Parts of the church date to the 1880s. In 1914 the sound of its church bells inspired the song, "The Bells of St. Mary's", originally recorded in 1919 by Frances Alda and later sung by Bing Crosby in a film of the same name.

The Franciscan Friary of Southampton was founded c. 1233. It occupied a south-eastern area of the city, within the walls and adjacent to God's House Tower. The friary was notable for its water supply system, which supplied water for use by the friars themselves and by the other inhabitants of Southampton. The friary was dissolved in 1538 and the last remains were swept away in the 1940s. The site is now occupied by Friary House. Elsewhere, remnants of the extensive water supply system still survive today.

Solent University (formerly Southampton Solent University) is a public university based in Southampton, United Kingdom. It has approximately 10,500 students (2019/20). Its main campus is located on East Park Terrace near the city centre and the maritime hub of Southampton. Solent University students are represented by Solent Students' Union, which is based on the East Park Terrace campus.

Inspire Enterprise Academy (formerly Southampton Studio School) was a Studio school located in Southampton, designed for students aged 14–19 who intended to pursue a career in business and enterprise. It was founded in 2013 as part of the Studio Schools Trust. The school combined project-based learning and business experiences, with academic achievement, aimed at equipping students with a diverse range of skills. In September 2014 Inspire Enterprise Academy's sister, the Isle of Wight Studio School, opened on the Isle of Wight. On 6 July 2015 the school announced that it would close at the end of the academic year. The school formally closed in August 2015. Children in Year 10 were offered a transfer to the Isle of Wight Studio School.

Northam railway station served the suburb of Northam in Southampton, England.

The Holyrood estate is a housing estate in Southampton, England. It was constructed as a new city district to replace a slum bombed in World War II, and designed by Lyons Israel Ellis, who later designed Wyndham Court. Owen Hatherley describes the estate as a "straightforward scattering of low and medium-rise Modernist blocks, using the soft-Brutalist vernacular of stock-brick and concrete." Hatherley praises the estate's layout over its aesthetic. The estate is situated between Queensway to the west and Threefield Lane to the east, and Bernard Street to the south and Lime Street to the north. In 2009, a series of metal sculptures were erected around the estate in tribute to the area's role in the history of Southampton. Holyrood Church, which was damaged in World War II, now serves as a memorial to the Merchant Navy. In 2012 seven tiled murals depicting scenes from Southampton's history were installed on the estate's blocks, to be visible from main roads.R&B musician Craig David, who was born in 1981, grew up in the Holyrood estate.

The Southampton Central Parks are a set of five parks, which collectively make a central public park, in the heart of the city of Southampton. Created between 1854 and 1866, they have gained Grade II* listed status, as well as being part of the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. The parks are legally Common Land.

The St Mary's Road drill hall is a former military installation in Southampton. It is a Grade II listed building.
