Meadow Vista is a census-designated place (CDP) in Placer County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 3,217 at the 2010 census, up from 3,096 at the 2000 census.

Weimar University, formerly Weimar Institute, Weimar College and Weimar Center of Health & Education, is a private university in Weimar, California. It operates a college, academy, and lifestyle-oriented health care center. It highlights traditional Seventh-day Adventist principles of health and education, especially as espoused by early Seventh-day Adventist founder Ellen G. White, who wrote extensively on health and education. Although founded by Adventists, it has never been legally affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Clipper Gap (also, Clippergap) is an unincorporated community in Placer County, California. Clipper Gap is located 6 miles (9.7 km) north-northeast of Auburn. It lies at an elevation of 1676 feet (511 m).The first transcontinental railroad reached Clipper Gap in 1865, and local mills supplied black powder and lime for use in railroad construction. The town began to decline after the railroad's construction was complete, and the town later became a service stop on the Lincoln Highway. Today Clipper Gap is a rural residential area.The Clipper Gap post office opened in 1866, changed its name to Clippergap in 1894, reverted its name to Clipper Gap in 1950, and closed permanently in 1960.

Weimar (formerly, "New England Mills" or "Weimer") is an unincorporated community in Placer County, California, located in the Sacramento area. Weimar is located 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south-southwest of Colfax. As of 2010, its population is 209.

Lake Clementine (also known as North Fork Lake) is a reservoir on the North Fork American River Canyon above the picturesque, California Gold Rush-era town of Auburn (elevation 1,200 feet (370 m)) in Northern California. It was created in 1939 when the North Fork Dam, a 155-foot (47 m) tall constant angle arch dam, was completed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, for the purpose of containing gold-mining debris which were washing downriver. This resulting reservoir is a long and narrow lake approximately 3.5 miles long and 300 feet wide in some areas. The lake and surrounding area is owned by the United States Bureau of Reclamation and managed by California Department of Parks and Recreation.

Bowman is an unincorporated community in Placer County, California. Bowman is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad, 3.25 miles (5.2 km) north-northeast of Auburn. It lies at an elevation of 1617 feet (493 m).The Bowman post office opened in 1893. The name honors Harry Hoisington Bowman, fruit grower.

The Foresthill Bridge, also referred to as the Auburn-Foresthill Bridge or the Auburn Bridge, is a road bridge crossing over the North Fork American River in Placer County and the Sierra Nevada foothills, in eastern California. It is the highest bridge by deck height in California, the fourth highest in the United States, and among the seventy highest in the world at 730 feet (220 m) above the river.

Pine Hills Adventist Academy is a private Seventh-Day Adventist K-12 Christian school founded and established in 1941 in Auburn, California. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.

Bear River High School is a public high school in the Nevada Joint Union High School District in Grass Valley, California, United States. It is located across the street from Lake of the Pines. It had approximately 300 graduates in the 2006–2007 school year, for a 98.5% graduation rate. 52.1% completed CSU/UC prep. 90.6% of the students self-identified as white.Its camaraderie-focused music program, a highlight of the school's culture is known for its successes in various competitions and school-based concerts, most notably, Fantasy of Stars, featuring many of its best musical groups. Its show group, Starlite, is also a unique attribute to Bear River High School, as it is a talented show choir, but with band members rather than a backing track. Bear River Music's motto is: "Improving the lives of audience member and performer alike through musical excellence, professionalism, and pride." Its main rival is Colfax High School located in Colfax, and the annual Bear River vs. Colfax football game is a popular school event each year.

Auburn Lake Trails is a census-designated place in El Dorado County, California. It lies at an elevation of 1916 feet (584 m). It is a gated community with 23 miles (37 km) of horse trails. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,426.

The Middle Fork American River is one of three forks that form the American River in Northern California. It drains a large watershed in the high Sierra Nevada west of Lake Tahoe and northeast of Sacramento in Placer and El Dorado Counties, between the watersheds of the North Fork American River and South Fork American River. The Middle Fork joins with the North Fork near Auburn and they continue downstream to Folsom Lake as the North Fork, even though the Middle Fork carries a larger volume of water. The Middle Fork was one of the richest gold mining areas during the California Gold Rush of the 1850s, and is still recreationally mined today. The river is dammed extensively to produce hydroelectricity and provide domestic water supply. Although long stretches of the Middle Fork have been dewatered by diversions, the portion of the river and canyon in the Auburn State Recreation Area is one of the state's most popular whitewater runs. Professional whitewater rafting companies offer guided trips on the Middle Fork American river from May to October. The Middle Fork canyon also has an extensive system of hiking and riding trails including the Western States Trail, which stretches 100 miles (160 km) from Auburn to Lake Tahoe.
