Royal Barcelona Maritime Club

The Royal Barcelona Yacht Club (Spanish: Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, Catalan: Reial Club Nàutic de Barcelona (RCNB)) is a member-only yacht club based in Barcelona. It was established in 1876 and is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Spain. This club is located at one end of Barcelona harbor. It is a well-equipped yacht club, with its own delimited area very close to the competing Royal Barcelona Maritime Club (Reial Club Marítim de Barcelona). The RCNB's area is an "administrative concession" from the Barcelona Port Authority and it houses the club's premises, as well as a restaurant overlooking the moored yachts that is open to the public. The club has 175 moorings, of which 20 are available for hire. The remaining moorings are private property. The Reial Club Nàutic de Barcelona has participated in many sailing competitions during its long existence. It has won a great number of awards. The club organizes together with the fashion and perfumes company Puig the "Puig Vela Clásica" race that is run every year during the month of July, in Barcelona waters. The main feature of this race is that it is reserved for traditional and classical boats only. This regatta is one of the main classical sailboats races of all those celebrated worldwide.

Aquarium Barcelona (Catalan: Aquàrium de Barcelona, IPA: [əˈkwaɾi.um də βəɾsəˈlonə]) is an aquarium located in Port Vell, a harbor in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The 35 aquariums at the facility are home to 11,000 animals representing 451 species. The aquarium contains a total of 5,000,000 l (1,300,000 US gal). This includes an ocean tank for sharks, rays and other large fish, which is 36 m (118 ft) in diameter, 5 m (16 ft) deep, contains 3,700,000 l (980,000 US gal) of water and has an 80-meter (260 ft) underwater tunnel. The Aquarium of Barcelona is part of the Aspro Parks.The aquarium is a member of the Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquaria (AIZA).

Port Vell (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈpɔɾd ˈbeʎ], literally in English 'Old Harbor') is a waterfront harbor in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and part of the Port of Barcelona. It was built as part of an urban renewal program prior to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Before this, it was a run-down area of empty warehouses, railroad yards, and factories. 16 million people visit the complex each year.It is now a focal point of the city and tourist attraction, containing the Maremàgnum (a mall containing shops, a multiplex cinema, bars and restaurants), IMAX Port Vell and Europe's largest aquarium containing 8000 Fish and 11 sharks contained in 22 basins filled with 6 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of sea water. A pedestrian walkway, Rambla de Mar, connects La Rambla to Port Vell. It incorporates a swing bridge, in order to allow ships to enter and exit the harbour.

The Port Vell Aerial Tramway (Catalan: Telefèric del Port or Aeri del Port, Spanish: Teleférico del Puerto) is an aerial tramway in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It crosses Port Vell, Barcelona's old harbour, connecting the Montjuïc hill with the seaside suburb of Barceloneta.The aerial tramway first opened in 1931 and is principally a tourist attraction, used on account of its excellent views of the city and its port. It is operated by Teleféricos de Barcelona S.A. and is not part of Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) integrated fare network. Separate tickets must be purchased prior to boarding.The aerial tramway should not be confused with the Montjuïc Cable Car, a gondola lift that links the upper terminus of the Montjuïc funicular with Montjuïc Castle.

Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli is a square in central Barcelona. It is part of Barri Gòtic, in the Ciutat Vella district, located between Passeig de Colom and Carrer de la Mercè, on a terrain formerly part of a 13th-century Franciscan convent until 1836. The square was projected after the disappearance of the old city walls and the convent in the 19th century. It is named after the 16th century nobleman Luis de la Cerda y de la Vega, count of Medinaceli, Cogolludo and Arcos de Jalón, a descendant of the Montcada family, who gave away the terrain to the Franciscans.

Torre Jaume I is a 107-metre (351 feet) high steel truss tower in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, which was built in 1931 by Carlos Boigas. The tower is currently the fifth-tallest aerial lift pylon in the world, and is a part of the Port Vell Aerial Tramway from Torre Sant Sebastia to Montjuïc. Torre Jaume I also has an observation platform.

World Trade Center Barcelona is a business park located in Barcelona, opened on 22 July 1999. This business center is located on the waterfront close to the city center, and has 40,000 square meters (430,000 sq ft) of rented office and a conference center, conventions and meeting spaces with 20 different rooms. WTCB building structure was inspired by the shape of a boat surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, and created by American architect Henry N. Cobb. The arrangement of the four buildings in a circle creates a central plaza of 2,500 square meters (27,000 sq ft), where shops and restaurants provide services to the users of the complex. The four towers house offices for rent, a congress center and the Hotel Grand Marina. Complex design allows renting offices from 40 to 3,000 square meters (430–32,290 sq ft) in a single plant. The flexibility of space is also a feature of the convention center, offering the possibility of organizing meetings of 8 to large events with up to 1,500 attendees.

The Columbus Monument (Catalan: Monument a Colom, IPA: [munuˈment ə kuˈlom]; Spanish: Monumento a Colón or Mirador de Colón) is a 60 m (197 ft) tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) in honor of Columbus' first voyage to the Americas. The monument serves as a reminder that Christopher Columbus reported to Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand V in Barcelona after his first trip to the new continent.

Pompeu Fabra University (Catalan: Universitat Pompeu Fabra, UPF, pronounced [uniβəɾsiˈtat pumˈpɛw ˈfaβɾə]; Spanish: Universidad Pompeu Fabra) is a public university located in the city of Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain. The university was created by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia in 1990, and was named after Pompeu Fabra, a Catalan engineer, grammarian and the main author of the normative reform of contemporary Catalan language. In 2021, UPF was ranked the best university in Spain and 10th best young university in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.Pompeu Fabra University is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Spain. It has occupied first place in the national ranking of scientific productivity since 2009. Academically, the university is known for its selective student admission as more than half of the degrees offered by it have among the highest university entrance grades (selectividad) in the Catalan university system. The university excels in national and international rankings especially in the studies of economics, political science, and law. The Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy (Catalan: Basílica de la Mercè, Spanish: Basílica de la Merced) is a Baroque-style basilica in Barcelona, Catalonia. It was built between 1765 and 1775, being the work of Catalan architect Josep Mas i Dordal. The dome of the church is crowned with a statue of Our Lady that is visible from the seaside promenade near the drassanes. This church was the second in Barcelona to receive the title of minor basilica, preceded only by the Barcelona Cathedral. The title was granted in 1918 by Pope Benedict XV, commemorating the seven hundredth anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin to St. Peter Nolasco, founder of the Order of Mercy.
