The Old Federal Reserve Bank Building is a historic bank building located at 925 Chestnut Street on the corner of S. 10th Street in the Market East neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The main section was designed by architect Paul Philippe Cret in the Classical Revival style influenced by the Beaux-Arts style, and was built between 1931 and 1935. It incorporated the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Building, built in 1889, with additions made in 1918 and 1925. Cret designed the formal gardens which were added in 1941 and in 1952–3, a recessed seventh story were added, designed by Harbeson, Hough, Livingston & Larson, the successor firm to Cret. The building features sculptures of the goddess Athena made by Alfred-Alphonse Bottiau. The building is 11 bays wide, measuring 170 feet wide and 113 feet deep, has a steel frame structure faced with Vermont marble, and has engaged piers.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located on the East Center City Commercial Historic District. The building is now part of the Center City campus of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

New York Mutual Life Insurance Company Building, also known as the Victory Building, is a historic office building located in the Market East neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Henry Fernbach and Phillip W. Roos are credited as the building's architects. It was built in 1873, and is a seven-story, brick building, faced with granite, and measuring 58 feet by 176 feet. Its three lowest stories feature engaged columns, pilasters, balustrades, and arcades. The top three stories were added in 1890–1891. It is topped by a mansard roof in the Second Empire style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located on the East Center City Commercial Historic District.

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is the flagship hospital of Jefferson Health, a multi-state non-profit health system based in Philadelphia. The hospital serves as the teaching hospital for Thomas Jefferson University.

The President's House was a mansion built from 1792 to 1797 by the Government of Pennsylvania and located on Ninth Street, between Market and Chestnut Streets, in Philadelphia, then the temporary national capital. Intended to persuade the federal government to permanently stay in the city, this house intended for the president of the United States never housed any president. In 1800, the property was purchased at public auction by the University of Pennsylvania for use as a new, expanded campus. The university demolished the building in 1829 and replaced it with two new buildings.

The Robert N. C. Nix Sr. Federal Building and United States Post Office, formerly known as the United States Court House and Post Office Building, is a historic building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

8th Street station is a subway station complex in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, located at the intersection of 8th Street and Market Street in Center City. It is served by SEPTA's Market–Frankford and Broad–Ridge Spur lines, as well as the PATCO Speedline (signed by SEPTA as the "Lindenwold Line"). The entire complex is owned by SEPTA, while the PATCO areas are leased by the Delaware River Port Authority, which operates that line. 8th Street is the only station in Philadelphia where these three subway lines interchange. The complex consists of three stations, 8th Street on the Market–Frankford Line, 8th & Market on the Broad–Ridge Spur (also sporadically signed as "8th Street"), and 8th & Market on the PATCO Speedline. The complex consists of three underground levels, a mezzanine crossing the Market–Frankford tracks on the upper level, Market–Frankford trains running east–west and Broad–Ridge trains running north on the middle level, and PATCO running north–south on the lower level. Each platform has its own entrances/exits and fare control, but are connected via a mezzanine. For decades the corner of 8th and Market was a retail hub for the city, with major department stores Strawbridge's, Gimbels and Lit Brothers all located at the intersection and all containing direct access to the subway station. This underground connection now serves the Fashion District Philadelphia shopping mall, which provides indirect access to SEPTA Regional Rail lines at Jefferson Station, as well as the Broad Street Line via the Downtown Link concourse.

Fashion District Philadelphia is a shopping mall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, located in Center City along Market Street. It opened in 2019 on the site of a previous mall known as The Gallery and later renamed The Gallery at Market East. The mall was envisioned to fill that "void" that even smaller cities have, to sell items to the Center City market that had previously only been available elsewhere. The Fashion District Philadelphia currently has Burlington, Primark, AMC Theatres, and Round One Entertainment as anchors.

76 Place at Market East is a proposed indoor arena in Center City Philadelphia. It will be the future home of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), moving from the Wells Fargo Center, which is currently shared as their home arena with the Philadelphia Flyers. The proposed arena will be located in Center City on the site of Fashion District Philadelphia. It will be privately funded at a cost of $1.3 billion. 76Devcorp is in charge of the development process and is being chaired by real estate developer, David J. Adelman.76 Place at Market East will be located one block from a SEPTA Market–Frankford Line subway stop and Jefferson Station, a commuter train station.

11th Street station (signed as 11th Street–Pennsylvania Convention Center on platforms) is a subway station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the intersection of 11th Street and Market Street in Center City. It is served by SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line and provides a connection to SEPTA Regional Rail at Jefferson Station. The station is part of the Downtown Link concourse, a series of underground passageways outside fare control that access stations on the Market–Frankford Line, Broad Street Line, PATCO Speedline, and Regional Rail lines. 11th Street also has direct access to the Jefferson Tower and Fashion District Philadelphia shopping mall, and also serves the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Estey Hall, also known as the Allman Building, is a historic building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Estey Hall is a seven-story, commercial building, designed by architects Baker and Dallet, erected by Herbert D. Allman in 1910–11. It was the site from 1911 to 1924 of the Estey Piano Company.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Chestnut Street Opera House was a theatre located at 1021–1029 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built by theatre impresario Robert Fox on the former site of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, it opened as a venue for vaudeville in 1870 as Fox's New American Theatre. The theatre was destroyed by fire in 1877 and was rebuilt that same year. After being acquired by George K. Goodwin, the theatre was remodeled, renamed the Chestnut Street Opera House, and re-opened as a legitimate theatre in 1880. It continued to operate as a legitimate theatre, first under the management of theatre magnates Samuel F. Nixon and J. Fred Zimmerman Sr., who acquired the theatre's lease in 1882, and later under the Shubert Organisation, who acquired the theatre in 1916. It was still considered one of Philadelphia's leading legitimate theatres during the 1920s and 1930s. The theatre was also used as a venue for films and was a model theatre for the Triangle Film Corporation in 1915–1916. The theatre closed in 1939 and was demolished in 1940.

Mail Delivery is a set of four relief sculptures by Edmond Amateis completed in 1941 for the Section of Painting and Sculpture and displayed at the U.S. Court House and Post Office Building in Philadelphia, now called the Robert N. C. Nix, Sr., Federal Building, at 9th and Market Streets. The reliefs are carved in granite and each measures about 108 inches (2.7 m) in height by 120 inches (3.0 m) in width. The reliefs show the efforts of postal carriers delivering mail to the "four corners" of America. The East and West reliefs flank an entrance on 9th Street near Market Street. The North and South reliefs flank an entrance further south on 9th Street near Chestnut Street. Noted photographer and former Philadelphian Carol M. Highsmith photographed the reliefs as part of an assignment for the U.S. General Services Administration.
