KZST (100.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Santa Rosa, California, and serving Sonoma County. It is owned by Lawrence V. Amaturo, through licensee Amaturo Sonoma Media Group, LLC, and broadcasts an adult contemporary radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. Evenings, it carries the nationally syndicated Delilah call in and request show. KZST's radio studios and offices are on Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa.KZST has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 6,000 watts. The transmitter is off Mount Bennett Drive in Santa Rosa. The station has two booster stations also broadcasting on 100.1 MHz: KZST-1, 46 watts, is in Petaluma. And 1,200 watt KZST-2 is in Rohnert Park.

KJZY (93.7 MHz, "Jazzy 93.7") is an FM radio station in licensed to Sebastopol, California. It broadcasts to the Sonoma Valley. Owned by Redwood Empire Stereocasters, it broadcasts an adult standards format. Its studios are co-located with its sister stations on Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa. A 1,200-watt booster transmitter operates on 93.7 FM in Rohnert Park, California, with the call sign KJZY-FM1. KJZY broadcasts in the HD Radio format. Its HD2 subchannel airs a classic country format known as "99.1 The Bull".

The Sonoma County Fairgrounds is a fairground and exhibition center located in Santa Rosa, California. It is where the annual Sonoma County fair takes place and other events throughout the year.

South Park is residential neighborhood in the city of Santa Rosa, California. It is located in south Santa Rosa, east of U.S. Highway 101, south of Bennett Valley Road, west of the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, and encompasses 60 blocks. The community is known for its old houses and artistic murals in the area, and notorious for its history of an above average crime rate and gang activity. South Park was also once a settlement for African Americans during the mid-1900s and was a center of Santa Rosa's Black community. Today, the neighborhood is mainly Latino. It has around 1,500 residents.

Montgomery High School is a public high school located in Santa Rosa, California. It is part of the Santa Rosa High School District, which is itself part of Santa Rosa City Schools. Montgomery High School was named after Bill Montgomery. Montgomery is considered the first person from the city of Santa Rosa to have died in World War II. William "Billy" Montgomery was killed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, while serving aboard the battleship USS California. Montgomery participates in the International Baccalaureate Organization as an IB World School, providing the IB Diploma Programme as well as the full complement of classes available to juniors and seniors. Montgomery High School has been an IB World School since July 1995.On March 1st 2023, a 16 year-old student was stabbed to death by another student on the school’s campus.

Taylor Mountain is a summit at the northern extreme of the Sonoma Mountains in California. The mountain lies in the Laguna de Santa Rosa drainage basin; its east flank drains to Matanzas Creek, a northwestward flowing stream running the length of Bennett Valley, and its west flank drains to Five Creek. The mountain is named after California Gold Rush pioneer John Shackleford Taylor, who settled on the mountain slopes in 1853 to raise dairy cows and plant a vineyard.North of Taylor Mountain, Taylor Ridge descends toward the city of Santa Rosa. Some of Santa Rosa's urban expansion is taking place to the east of this ridge. Taylor Mountain is readily visible from Sonoma Mountain, Bennett Valley, the Santa Rosa Plain and from as far north as the Alexander Valley.The peak of Taylor Mountain defines (in part) the boundary between the Sonoma Coast AVA and the Sonoma Valley AVA, two federally designated grape-growing regions. Wines made from grapes grown on its western slopes would qualify for the Sonoma Coast appellation, whereas those made from grapes grown on its eastern slopes would qualify for the Sonoma Valley appellation.

Doyle Community Park is an urban park on the eastern edge of downtown Santa Rosa, California. The western end of the park is the confluence of Matanzas Creek and Spring Creek. Spring Creek forms the northern park boundary and Matanzas Creek forms the southern park boundary. The eastern end of the park is a fenced and lighted baseball field formerly used by the minor league Santa Rosa Pirates. The remainder of the park includes the Doyle Park Clubhouse, restrooms, playground slides and swings, horseshoe pits, separate fenced areas for unleashed large and small dogs, and picnic tables with barbecue grills including five sites available for reservation.A paved trail follows the shaded riparian woodland of mature oaks, maples, and California bay laurel trees along Spring Creek and Matanzas Creek from the Doyle Park Clubhouse on Hoen Avenue to the footbridge over Matanzas Creek across Vallejo Street from Brook Hill School. Prior to European settlement, what is now Doyle Park was part of a larger riparian wetland within which these creeks changed course when dead trees fell into their channels and accumulated coarse woody debris diverted flood runoff out of those channels to form new channels. Europeans deepened the present creek channels about 4 m (13 ft) through Quaternary alluvium of the Santa Rosa Plain to minimize urban flooding. The park and paved trail is at the level of the original wetland, but there are a few access points into the lower channels which now confine the creeks.Western gray squirrels are plentiful in the park, and a murder of crows often gather nearby. Birdwatchers have observed sparrows, finches, towhees, jays, woodpeckers, robins, bluebirds, mockingbirds, chickadees, phoebes, kinglets, warblers, nuthatches, and titmice.

Spring Creek, in Sonoma County, California, is a 6.0-mile-long (9.7 km) stream that rises in the northern part of the Sonoma Mountains within Annadel State Park, draining the western slopes of Bennett Mountain and feeding into Matanzas Creek at Doyle Community Park below the Matanzas Creek Reservoir.The waters of Spring Creek ultimately reach the Pacific Ocean just south of Jenner, California, by way of Matanzas Creek, Santa Rosa Creek, the Laguna de Santa Rosa, Mark West Creek, and the Russian River.

KRCB-FM (104.9 FM) is a radio station in Rohnert Park, California, and broadcasting to the Santa Rosa-Sonoma County area. The station became the primary radio frequency for Northern California Public Media's public radio service in 2021 after operating as a commercial station since 1986. As a public radio station, KRCB-FM features NPR and local news and talk programs, along with music programs featuring adult album alternative, jazz, blues, and world music. KRCB-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 2,300 watts. The transmitter is off Calistoga Road in Santa Rosa. Most programming is also heard in Santa Rosa on 91.1 KRCG-FM, the original home of KRCB's radio service.

Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is a 338-bed acute care hospital located in the city of Santa Rosa, California, which is in Sonoma County. The hospital, known as "Memorial", is part of the Providence Health hospital system. It serves a population of over 500,000 people living in the greater Sonoma County area. Memorial Hospital is the regional Level II Trauma Center for Sonoma County, Lake County, Mendocino County, Napa County, and the Marin County coastal region.On average Santa Rosa Memorial treats 1,450 patients annually who have suffered serious or life-threatening injuries. In 2009 it had more than 31,000 outpatient emergency department visits and more than 7,200 admissions. Between 1998 and 2010 as a level II trauma center it had treated over 15,000 trauma cases.

Cathedral of Saint Eugene is a cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. It is the mother church and seat of the diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Santa Rosa in California. It is located in the City of Santa Rosa. The parish was founded in 1950 and it became a cathedral when the Diocese of Santa Rosa was established by Pope John XXIII on January 13, 1962. The cathedral was named for the 7th century Pope Eugene I.

Luther Burbank Home and Gardens is a city park containing the former home, greenhouse, gardens, and grave of noted American horticulturist Luther Burbank (1849-1926). It is located at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and Sonoma Avenue in Santa Rosa, California, in the United States. The park is open daily without charge; a fee is charged for guided tours. It is designated as a National Historic Landmark as well as a California Historical Landmark (#234).
