Ostrowsko [ɔsˈtrɔfskɔ] is a village in Poland, in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Nowy Targ County. In the years 1975-1998 it was in the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship. Ostrowsko is on the road from Nowy Targ to Czorsztyn and is located by the Dunajec River.

University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ (Polish: Akademia Nauk Stosowanych w Nowym Targu (ANS)) is a public vocational university in Nowy Targ, Poland. Over 90% of students at ANS come from Podhale, Spiš and Orava. ANS is the highest situated university in Poland (615 m above sea level).

Nowy Targ Airport is a grass airfield serving Nowy Targ, Podhale, Poland, opened in 1930. In 1962 LOT Polish Airlines commenced a scheduled service between Nowy Targ and Warsaw, but this was terminated after 10 flights when it was decided to discontinue the use of grass airfields.

The Czarny Dunajec is a river in southern Poland (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), in the Vistula basin.

The Biały Dunajec is a river in Poland, the right tributary of the Dunajec. The river arises at an altitude of approx. 730 m in Poronin from the confluence of rivers Zakopianka and Poroniec. The Biały Dunajec then flows through the eponymous Biały Dunajec village, Szaflary and Nowy Targ, where at an altitude of about 577 m it joins the Czarny Dunajec, giving rise to the Dunajec. The river flows by the Bór na Czerwonem nature reserve. The Biały Dunajec is formed in the Podtatrzański Trench, while its lower course and mouth are located in the Orava-Nowy Targ Basin.In the upper part of the course, down to Szaflary, the river has a more mountain character. There are large boulders, plunge pools and riffles in its bed, and the width of the river ranges from several meters to several dozen meters. Below Szaflary, the river is regulated and separated by high concrete sills.

Gronków [ˈɡrɔnkuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nowy Targ, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-east of Nowy Targ and 71 km (44 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków.

The Market Square (Polish: Rynek [ˈrɨnɛk]) in Nowy Targ is located in the center of the town. It was laid out for the first time in 1346, when the city was founded. There are 8 streets leading to the Market Square - two to each corner: Szaflarska St and Harcerska St to the south-eastern corner, John III Sobieski St and Tadeusz Kościuszko St to the north-east one, St. Catherine St and Szkolna St to the north-west one, and Kolejowa St and Casimir III the Great St to the south-west one. It has the shape of a rectangle with the dimensions of 138 x 110 m, which gives the area of 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres).

Bór [bur] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Szaflary, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland.

Podhale (Polish pronunciation: [pɔtˈxalɛ]; literally|below the mountain pastures"), sometimes referred to as the Polish Highlands, is Poland's southernmost region. The Podhale is located in the foothills of the Tatra range of the Carpathian mountains. It is the most famous region of the Goral Lands which are a network of historical regions inhabited by Gorals.

Gmina Nowy Targ is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the town of Nowy Targ, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina. The gmina covers an area of 208.65 square kilometres (80.6 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 22,070.

Nowy Targ [ˈnɔvɨ ˈtark] (Officially: Royal Free city of Nowy Targ, Yiddish: Naymark, Goral Dialect: Miasto) is a town in southern Poland, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. It is located in the Orava-Nowy Targ Basin at the foot of the Gorce Mountains, at the confluence of the Czarny Dunajec and the Biały Dunajec. It is the seat of the Nowy Targ County and the rural Gmina Nowy Targ, as well as the Tatra Euroregion. With 33,293 inhabitants, Nowy Targ is the largest town and the historic capital of Podhale, as well as its main commercial, communication and industrial center. The town has the Podhale State Vocational University and the highest located airport in Poland. Established before 1233, Nowy Targ received city rights on June 22, 1346 from King Casimir the Great. The historic architectural and urban complex of the town with a medieval market square has been preserved to this day.

Nowy Targ County (Polish: powiat nowotarski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, southern Poland, on the Slovak border. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Nowy Targ, which lies 67 kilometres (42 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków. The county also contains the towns of Rabka-Zdrój, lying 18 km (11 mi) north of Nowy Targ, and Szczawnica, 35 km (22 mi) east of Nowy Targ. The county covers an area of 1,474.66 square kilometres (569.4 sq mi). As of 2006 its total population is 181,878, out of which the population of Nowy Targ is 33,493, that of Rabka-Zdrój is 13,031, that of Szczawnica is 7,334, and the rural population is 128,020.
