Wola Skrzydlańska

Skrzydlna is a village the administrative district of Gmina Dobra, within Limanowa County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland.The village, dating back to 13th century or earlier, has a 16th-century baroque church and an 18th-century noble mansion.

Szczyrzyc [ˈʂt͡ʂɨʐɨt͡s] (formerly Szczyrzyce) is a village in Poland, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Limanowa County, Jodłownik Commune. Geographically it is located in the Beskid Wyspowy, in the Stradomka river valley. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) west of Jodłownik, 20 km (12 mi) north-west of Limanowa, and 36 km (22 mi) south-east of the regional capital Kraków. Szczyrzyc is notable for its 13th-century Cistercian abbey (the Cistercians Abbey in Szczyrzyc). The village itself dates from the 14th century. It is the birthplace of Władysław Orkan and Zygmunt Konieczny, and the only place where the Polish Red cattle still exist. In the Kingdom of Poland and Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Szczyrzyc was the seat of Szczyrzyc County - a large county, which stretched from the Vistula to the Tatras, and which was disbanded in 1772.

Szczyrzyc County (Polish: Powiat szczyrzycki) was an administrative territorial entity of the Kingdom of Poland and later Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. It is unknown when it was established, probably some time in the 14th century. It was located in the southern part of the Kraków Voivodeship, with the capital in the historic village of Szczyrzyc. It has been estimated that the county's territory was around 3315 square kilometers, which made it one of the biggest counties of the Kingdom of Poland. Its borders spread from the Vistula to the Tatras, and among towns belonging to the county were such places as Niepołomice, Tymbark, Bochnia, Brzesko, Nowy Targ, Jordanów, Wiśnicz, Wieliczka, Dobczyce, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Maków Podhalański and Skawina. The county ceased to exist in 1772, when after the First Partition of Poland, it was annexed by Austrian Empire.

It continues to function as a monastery and is one of the Polish Shrines to the Virgin Mary. Apart from its religious role, the abbey contains the Museum of the Cistercian Abbey.
