Skała [ˈskawa] is a town in southern Poland, situated in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Kraków Voivodeship (1975–1998). On December 31, 2010, its population was 3,646. Skala is one of the oldest towns in Lesser Poland. In the early 13th century, it was a defensive gord, known as Scala and Magna Schala. Its name (the Polish word skała means rock in English) probably comes from a rocky hill above the Pradnik river valley.

The gmina covers an area of 74.3 square kilometres (28.7 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 9,635 (out of which the population of Skała amounts to 3,693, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 5,942). The gmina contains part of the protected area called Dłubnia Landscape Park.
