Higashi-Kurume Station (東久留米駅, Higashi-kurume-eki) is a passenger railway station in located in the city of Higashikurume, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Seibu Railway.

Higashikurumeshi Chikurin Park is a bamboo grove with natural spring water. It is located in Higashikurume, Tokyo. It was created by taking advantage of the natural shape of the land, and there is a path through the bamboo grove. The park has over 2,000 bamboo trees.It was constructed in 1974 and was selected as one of the 100 New Tokyo Views in 1983.

Tokyo District Meteorological Observatory (東京管区気象台, Tōkyō Kanku Kishōdai), abbreviated as TDMO, is one of the five District Meteorological Observatories of the Japan Meteorological Agency. It has jurisdiction over the Kantō and Chūbu regions: Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Yamanashi, Nagano, Niigata, Shizuoka, Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Ishikawa, Toyama and Fukui, and is responsible for acquiring meteorological, hydrological, seismological and volcanological data and forecasting local weather conditions in those areas through its local meteorological observatories. It also fills the role of Region Central Forecast Office (地方予報中枢官署, Chihō Yohō Chūsū Kansho) for the Kantō region. The TDMO is based inside the JMA Meteorological Satellite Center located in Kiyose, Tokyo.

Japan College of Social Work (JCSW, 日本社会事業大学, Nihon shakai jigyō daigaku) is a private university in Kiyose, Tokyo, Japan, established in 1958. Formerly the JCSW was called Japan School of Social Work and established by the GHQ (General Headquarters), Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan in 1946. Therefore, the tuitions of the college are the same as other national universities, although being a private university. Government (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) subsidies cover the other remaining costs, except for the tuitions paid by students.The JCSW now provides the programs of 4-year bachelor, 1 to 2-year masters (research and professional degrees), and Ph.D. In the field of social welfare studies, the college has been regarded as the "Todai" (the top-ranking university in Japan, the University of Tokyo, "Todai" in Japanese).

Tanashi Station (田無駅, Tanashi-eki) is a passenger railway station located in the city of Nishitōkyō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Seibu Railway.

Hōya (保谷市, Hoya-shi) was a city located in the western portion of Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. At the time of its merger, the city had an estimated population of 102,720 and a density of 11,350 persons per km2. The total area was 9.05 km2. The area of modern Hōya was an agricultural region and agricultural products transshipment center for Edo in the premodern period, and was part of ancient Musashi Province. After the Meiji Restoration it came under the jurisdiction of the short-lived prefectures of Shinagawa (1868), Irima (1871), Kumagaya (1873) and Saitama (1876). On April 1, 1889, the villages of Kamihōya, Shimohōya, and Hōya-shinden merged to form the village of Hoya within Niikura District, then a portion of Saitama Prefecture. The district merged with Kitaadachi District in 1896, but subsequently was transferred to the administrative control of Tokyo Metropolis on April 1, 1907. Hōya was connected to central Tokyo by train from 1915. Hoya was elevated to town status in 1940, and to city status in 1967. On January 21, 2001, Hōya was merged with the neighboring city of Tanashi to create the city of Nishi-Tōkyō, and Hōya thus no longer exists as an independent municipality.

As of 1 January 2021, the city had an estimated population of 206,047, and a population density of 13,000 persons per km2. The total area of the city is 15.75 square kilometres (6.08 sq mi).

Tanashi (田無市, Tanashi-shi) was a city located in the western portion of Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. Tanashi means the land without rice. Because of the area's elevation relative to the Tamagawa River, traditional irrigation and rice farming was impossible. Hence, the area was named Tanashi. At the time of its merger, the city had an estimated population of 78,165 and a density of 11,495 persons per km2. The total area was 6.8 km2. The area of modern Tanashi prospered during the Edo period as a post station on the Ome Kaido and Tokorozawa Kaido, and was part of ancient Musashi Province. After the Meiji Restoration it came under the jurisdiction of the short-lived prefectures of Shinagawa (1868) and Irima (1871), before becoming part of Kanagawa in 1872. During the early Meiji period (1878) cadastral reform, it became the town of Tanashi within Kitatama District in Kanagawa. The entire district was transferred to the administrative control of Tokyo Metropolis in 1893. Tanashi was connected to central Tokyo by train from 1927. Tanashi was elevated to city status in 1967. On January 21, 2001, Tanashi was merged with the neighboring city of Hoya to create the city of Nishi-Tōkyō, and thus Tanashi no longer exists as an independent municipality.
