Congregation Beth Israel (Austin, Texas)

On 31 October 2021, an arson attack at Congregation Beth Israel, a Reform Jewish synagogue in Austin, Texas, damaged the synagogue's front doors and stained glass windows, causing more than $250,000 in damage. Franklin Sechriest admitted to conducting the attack out of his hatred for Jews and was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on 29 November 2023.

Kerbey Lane Cafe is a small chain of restaurants in the Austin metropolitan area, in the U.S. state of Texas. There were eight locations, as of December 2018. The chain expanded into San Marcos via Texas State University in 2019.

Bryker Woods is an older Austin, Texas, central city neighborhood developed in the 1930s, the center of which is approximately located at 30°18′17″N 97°45′06″W. It is predominantly a mix of young and old families and zoned as a single-family neighborhood composed of mostly small homes in good condition, most of which are over 50 years old. The Bryker Woods neighborhood is also part of the Old West Austin Historic District. Bryker Woods has its own elementary school, Bryker Woods Elementary, and is convenient to retail and recreational facilities. The neighborhood has many positive features, such as its trees and park and greenbelt access, convenient location, well-built homes, and community spirit. Historic bridges span Shoal Creek connecting Bryker Woods to the University of Texas campus and the central business district. While there are no large open spaces or areas of undeveloped land within the neighborhood, the natural environment of the neighborhood is one of its greatest assets. Within the neighborhood, mature trees line the streets and provide shade for the houses. Shoal Creek forms a part of the eastern border of the neighborhood and the hike and bike trail can be followed to Pease Park and beyond. Bailey Park is also within walking distance near Seton Hospital.

Bailey Park is located in central Austin, Texas within the vicinity of the Seton Medical Center and St. Andrews Episcopal School. Located at 30°18′09″N 97°44′48″W, the small city park was created from several residential lots clustered together to make a common public green space. In 1935 F.G Rossener paid $320 in cash for lot #14 in the George W. Spears league of land. Bailey Park eventually expanded to cover 2.3 acres (9,300 m2) or about one small city lot by the late 1930s. At one time Bailey Park was central to the neighborhood east of Shoal Creek. Although the size of Bailey Park has not changed, the relative location has. Today Bailey Park is no longer bordered by residential lots and homes, rather the park is surrounded entirely by commercial property (hospital, a multistory office building etc.) and a private school. St. Andrew's Episcopal School lies between Bailey Park and the Shoal Creek Green Belt. Bailey Park continues to see much use. Many people take advantage of what this little hidden park has to offer. Notable park features include a flagstone covered pavilion built in 1936, park swings, picnic benches, rest rooms, children's wading pool and a large field for softball. Facilities seeing the most use are outdoor tennis courts (with lights), a sand volleyball court (also with lights). A volleyball game occurs almost every evening throughout most of the year. Bailey Park also has a wide open space for flying kites, practicing soccer and other activities requiring a very large grassy area. In addition to the majestic oaks surrounding the pavilion, a wide variety of trees have been planted along the perimeter of Bailey Park.

The Rosedale neighborhood is located in north central Austin, Texas. The neighborhood is bordered by on 38th Street to the south, Shoal Creek to the west, North Loop / Hancock Drive to the north, and Lamar Boulevard to the east Ramsey Park is located in the middle of the neighborhood, and has a swimming pool, tennis courts, a baseball diamond, a basketball court, playgrounds, and picnic areas. There are over 1200 homes in the area, a variety of businesses within walking distance, and a network of medical services close by (including Seton Hospital, and ATX Orthopedics.) Rosedale was first developed as farm and dairy land in the 1860s. In the 1900s, four florists and nurseries were based in the area; much of the nursery stock planted during that time remains.Many of the homes in the Rosedale area were built during the 1930s and 1940s; since then, many have been added onto and many new homes have been built.

Splitrock is a house in Austin, Texas, built in 1893 by a Scottish immigrant named Robert F Burns. Located at 2815 Wooldridge Dr. (30.298753, -97.750397) on bluffs overlooking Shoal Creek, the house was one of the first in the central Austin area which is now occupied by the Pemberton Heights and Bryker Woods neighborhoods. The name Splitrock is derived from a topographic feature (an extremely large rock split in half) and swimming hole located approximately 300 feet (91 m) south east of the house. In 2006 Splitrock was designated as a City of Austin Historic Landmark. The house also referred to as the “Burns-Klein” house is a contributing property to the Old West Austin National Register Historic District.

Craft Omakase is a Japanese restaurant in Austin, Texas. The dining experience is a 22-course tasting menu curated with hot and cold offerings inspired by Japanese dedication and craft. Within 11 months of opening, Craft was awarded a Michelin Star in the inaugural Texas Michelin guide (2024). Craft was named the Best New Restaurant by Austin Chronicle (2024) and one of Austin's top restaurants by the Austin American-Statesman (2024).

Austin State Hospital (ASH), formerly known until 1925 as the Texas State Lunatic Asylum, is a 299-bed psychiatric hospital located in Austin, Texas. It is the oldest psychiatric facility in the state of Texas, and the oldest continuously operating west of the Mississippi River. It is operated by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Chili's at 45th and Lamar is a Chili's restaurant located in Austin, Texas that has been the subject of internet memes promulgated chiefly through the /r/Austin subreddit since at least 2011. On April 5, 2024, mayor Kirk Watson officially declared April 5, 2024 as Chili's at 45th & Lamar Day.

37th Street is a street in Austin, Texas, known for its many houses that are decorated with Christmas lights. The tradition attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, though neighbor participation has decreased the past few years due to the original residents having moved away and more students renting homes in the neighborhood.

The Baker Center, previously the Baker School, Baker Junior High School, and W. R. Robbins High School, is a historic building in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Austin, Texas. It has been, in sequential order, an elementary school, a middle school, an alternative high school, and an administrative building for Austin ISD. In 2018, the Baker Center was bought by Alamo Drafthouse, and now serves as their corporate headquarters. It has been used as a filming location for the TV shows Friday Night Lights and Walker, and the movie Lousy Carter. As of October 27, 2023, the Baker Center is on the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in educational and architectural history.

All Faiths Chapel, previously known as Chapel for the Children, is an interfaith house of worship and historical landmark in Austin, Texas. It is on the grounds of the Austin State Supported Living Center (AusSSLC), a facility for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities, which was known at the time of the chapel's construction as the Austin State School.As of May 9, 2022, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places for its importance in architectural, disability, and social history.
