Laxenburg

Laxenburg castles are imperial palaces and castles outside Vienna, in the town of Laxenburg owned in equal parts by Vienna and Lower Austria. The castles became a Habsburg possession in 1333 and formerly served as a summer retreat, along with Schönbrunn palace, for the imperial Habsburg dynasty. Blauer Hof Palace was the birthplace of some members of the royal family, including Crown Prince Rudolf. Another castle nearby is named Franzensburg castle. Today the castles are used for events, conferences, and concerts. The castles also acts as a museum in preserving the various paintings and furnishings contained within.

The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is an independent international research institute located in Laxenburg, near Vienna in Austria, founded as an East-West scientific cooperation initiative during the Cold War. Through its research programs and initiatives, the institute conducts policy-oriented interdisciplinary research into issues too large or complex to be solved by a single country or academic discipline. These include climate change, energy security, population aging, and sustainable development. The results of IIASA research and the expertise of its researchers are made available to policymakers worldwide to help them make informed and evidence-based policies.

The Wiener Neustadt Canal was Austria's only shipping canal, originally meant to reach to Trieste. It became operational in 1803 and ceased to be used for transportation before World War I.

The local rail service Badner Bahn connects Guntramsdorf with the central district of Vienna in the north and popular spa resort destination Baden bei Wien in the south. In the west of the town lies the Vienna Woods, an outlier of the Alpine foothills, featuring recreational forest areas and hiking trails, and the southeast of Guntramsdorf extends into the thermal Vienna Basin.

The Badner Bahn or Wiener Lokalbahn is a tram-train service in the metropolitan area of Vienna. It runs for 30.4 kilometres (18.9 mi) between Vienna and Baden, and is operated by the Wiener Lokalbahnen Aktiengesellschaft. The entire Badner Bahn is part of the Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region and is one of the most important passenger services owned by WLB. In 2013, 35,000 passengers per day used the service.

The motion_invest Arena is a multi-use stadium in Maria Enzersdorf - Südstadt, Austria (Johann Steinböck-Straße). It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. The stadium holds 10,600.
