Nor Zeytun

Izmirlian Medical Center (Armenian: Իզմիրլյան բժշկական կենտրոն), is a medical center and a research foundation located in the Armenian capital Yerevan. Opened in 1986, it is located in the Kanaker-Zeytun district and currently operates under the supervision of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Surb Nerses Mets Research and Education Center (Armenian: Սուրբ Ներսես Մեծ գիտաբժշկական կենտրոն), operates within the medical center.

Yerevan Water World (Armenian: Ջրաշխարհ (Jrashkharh)) is a water park situated on Myasnikyan Avenue of Nor Nork district in the Armenian capital of Yerevan. The Water World has an open-air water park occupying an area of 2.5 hectares and an indoor water park of 0.5 hectare.

Chinese-Armenian Friendship School (Armenian: Հայ-չինական բարեկամության դպրոց, Chinese: 中国-亚美尼亚友谊学校) is a school in Kanaker, Yerevan, Armenia. It serves grades 5 through 12. It is Armenian-medium with Chinese language being a major focus of study. The school, with a capacity of 405 students, opened on August 22, 2018. It includes a museum related to Chinese-relevant topics. Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and Tian Erlong, the Ambassador of China to Armenia, attended the school's opening. The school building and supplies had a cost of over $12 million, and the funds to do so came from the Chinese government. It functions as a boarding school for students who are not from the Yerevan area.

The Yerevan Botanical Garden (Armenian: Երևանի բուսաբանական այգի, romanized: Yerevani busabanakan aygi) of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, is the body responsible for plant collections in Armenia. It is located in the Avan district at the north-eastern part of the capital Yerevan, occupying around 80 hectares of a semi-deserted area. The collection includes more than 200 species of endemic, rare and declining plants, and provides a basis, in a relatively natural environment, for the study of the Armenian flora and the ecological interactions between plant species.

Kanaker (Armenian: Քանաքեռ; also Romanized as K’anak’err, Kenaker, Kanaker, and Qanaqer) was a village in Armenia to the north-east of the capital Yerevan. With the urban development of Yerevan in the 20th century, the village was gradually absorbed by the capital, thus becoming part of the Kanaker-Zeytun District.Notable natives of Kanaker include the writer and educator Khachatur Abovian and the composer Djivan Gasparyan. The town was home to many churches that were severely damaged during the earthquake of 1679. The oldest church of Kanaker is Saint Jacob Church (Surp Hakop) rebuilt in 1679 after the earthquake. Holy Mother of God Church (Surp Astvatsatsin) on a hilltop to the northwest was built in 1695. The Russian Orthodox Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God was built in Kanaker in 1912. Kanaker played a key role in the Russian siege of Yerevan in 1827.

Kanaker-Zeytun (Armenian: Քանաքեռ-Զեյթուն վարչական շրջան, romanized: K’anak’er’-Zeyt’un varch’akan shrjan) is one of the 12 districts of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, located in the northeastern part of the city. As of the 2011 census, the population of the district is 73,886. Located on a hill overlooking the central part of Yerevan, the administrative district of Kanaker-Zeytun has common borders with the districts of Avan, Arabkir, Kentron and Nor Nork. By the outer border it is adjacent to the provinces of Armavir, Aragatsotn and Kotayk.The district is unofficially divided into smaller neighborhoods such as Kanaker, Nor Zeytun and Monument.

ErAZ or Yerevanskiy Avtomobilny Zavod (Armenian: ԵրԱԶ or Երևանի ավտոմոբիլային գործարան, Russian: ЕрАЗ or Ереванский Автомобильный Завод, lit. 'Yerevan Automobile Plant'), was an Armenian automobile manufacturer in Yerevan, Armenia, mostly known for producing the van RAF-977K (as ErAZ-762) from 1966 to 1996. Plans to establish the ErAZ factory came about on December 31, 1964, by the Council of Ministers of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. The original staff were trained at the Riga Autobus Factory in Latvia and UAZ in Russia. ErAZ was privatized in 1995, and declared bankruptcy in 2002.

Surp Hakob Church (Armenian: Սուրբ Հակոբ Եկեղեցի; also, Saint Jacob of Nisibis) is located in the Kanaker-Zeytun District within the city limits of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Its sister-church, Surp Astvatsatsin (also, Holy Mother of God Church, built in 1695), is located upon a hilltop to the northwest within sight of the Church of S. Hakob.
