The Yerevan Botanical Garden (Armenian: Երևանի բուսաբանական այգի, romanized: Yerevani busabanakan aygi) of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, is the body responsible for plant collections in Armenia. It is located in the Avan district at the north-eastern part of the capital Yerevan, occupying around 80 hectares of a semi-deserted area. The collection includes more than 200 species of endemic, rare and declining plants, and provides a basis, in a relatively natural environment, for the study of the Armenian flora and the ecological interactions between plant species.

Nor Nork (Armenian: Նոր Նորք վարչական շրջան, romanized: Nor Nork’ varch’akan shrjan) is one of the 12 districts of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It is located at the eastern part of the city. It is bordered by the districts of Nork-Marash, Kentron and Kanaker-Zeytun from the west, Avan from the north and Erebuni from the south. Kotayk Province forms the eastern border of the district.The district is unofficially divided into smaller neighborhoods including the 9 blocks of Nor Nork and the Bagrevand neighborhood. As of the 2011 census, the population of the district is 126,065.

The Yerevan Zoo, also known as the Zoological Garden of Yerevan (Armenian: Երևանի կենդաբանական այգի (Yerevani kendabanakan aygi)), is a 35-hectare (86-acre) zoo established in 1940 in Yerevan, Armenia.

Crisis Management State Academy (CMSA, Armenian: Ճգնաժամային Կառավարման Պետական Ակադեմիա) is a state-owned public academy in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded in 1992, the academy is committed to training professionals in fire protection, rescue missions machinery, risk management, security operations, civil defense and rescue operations, offering bachelor's and master's degree programs.The academy is on 1 Acharyan Street, in the Avan District of Yerevan. It is directed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.The Stepanavan branch of the academy is operating since 2006.

Nor Zeytun (Armenian: Նոր Զեյթուն, also Zeytun) is a neighbourhood in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It is part of the Kanaker-Zeytun District of the city. To establish the Zeytun district in 1944, the Artsvabuyn Zeytun Reconstruction Committee was formed in Aleppo. After the repatriation of Armenians, in 1948, the members of the Committee received permission and established and constructed the new Zeytun district in Yerevan.

Officially, the Technical Center-Academy of the Football Federation of Armenia (Armenian: Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ֆեդերացիայի Տեխնիկական կենտրոն-ակադեմիա), commonly known as the Yerevan Football Academy or Avan Football Academy, is a modern football training school located in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The purpose of the centre is to be the base for all coaching and development work undertaken by the Football Federation of Armenia, and the training and preparation ground for all of the Armenia national football teams.

The Yerevan Football Academy Stadium, officially the FFA Technical Center-Academy Stadium (Armenian: ՀՖՖ Տեխնիկական-կենտրոն ակադեմիայի մարզադաշտ), commonly known as the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium or the Avan Academy Stadium, is an all-seater football stadium in Yerevan, Armenia. It is located in the northern Avan District of the city, within the Technical Center-Academy complex of the Football Federation of Armenia. The stadium is sometimes known as the Avan Football Academy Stadium.

Holy Mother of God Cathedral of Avan (Armenian: Ավանի Սուրբ Աստվածածին Կաթողիկե Եկեղեցի, romanized: Avani Surb Astvatsatsin Kat’oghike Yekeghets’i; also known as the church of Katoghike Tsiranavor, later renamed Surp Hovhannes) is a ruined 6th-century church located in the Avan District of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It is the oldest surviving church inside Yerevan's city limits.

Officially the Center for the Advancement of Natural Discoveries using Light Emission, more commonly CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute, is a project and a research center-institute in Yerevan, Armenia. CANDLE is a project of 3 gigaelectronvolts energy, third generation synchrotron light source for fundamental, industrial and applied research in biology, physics, chemistry, medicine, material and environmental sciences. Overall the facility is expected to serve more than 40 research groups simultaneously supporting the spectroscopy, scattering, imaging and time resolved experiments. The project is claimed to be demanded by international scientific community and is expected to have a vast impact on development of science in Armenia.The government of Armenia allocated an area of 20 ha near the town of Abovyan for the upcoming projects of the center.

The Vazgen Sargsyan Military University (Armenian: Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան ռազմական համալսարան) is a higher educational institution functioning in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. Its mission is to prepare and train officers capable of implementing defense tasks in peace and war. It is roughly the equivalent to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God of Kanaker (Armenian: Քանաքեռի Սուրբ Տիրամոր Ռուս Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցի (Kanakeri Surb Tiramor Rus Ughghap'ar Yekeghets'i), Russian: Храм Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы в Канакер), is an active Russian Orthodox church in the old area of Kanaker, Yerevan, Armenia.
