Petaling Jaya (Malaysian pronunciation: [pətalɪŋ dʒaja]), commonly called "PJ" by the locals, is a city in Petaling District, in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. Originally developed as a satellite township for Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, it is part of the Greater Kuala Lumpur area. Petaling Jaya was granted city status on 20 June 2006. It has an area of approximately 97.2 square kilometres (37.5 sq mi). Petaling Jaya is surrounded by Kuala Lumpur to the east, Sungai Buloh to the north, Shah Alam, the capital of Selangor, and Subang Jaya to the west and Bandar Kinrara (Puchong) to the south.

Assunta Hospital (Chinese: 亞松大医院; Malay: Hospital Assunta) is a private hospital in Petaling Jaya, Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. Assunta Hospital was founded by a group of missionaries from the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) in 1954. It is a 245-bed hospital complex.

Wat Chetawan (Thai: วัดเชตวัน; RTGS: Wat Chetawan) (also called as the Chetawan Buddhist Temple) is a Thai temple in Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. The temple is situated at Jalan Pantai, off Jalan Gasing in Petaling Jaya. It was built in 1957 and officiated by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand at the time. The temple is also the only Malaysian Siamese temple which has been chosen as the custodian of the Buddha sacred relics for all Malaysian Buddhists that are parts of the ancient relics discovered in Piprahwa, a village in Uttar Pradesh near the border of the Kingdom of Nepal in 1898 which were presented to King Chulalongkorn of Siam by the then British Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon.

The German School Kuala Lumpur (German: Deutsche Schule Kuala Lumpur, DSKL; Malay: Sekolah Jerman Kuala Lumpur) is a private school in Malaysia that is located on Lorong Utara B in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, near the Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital. The syllabus at this school is based on the German Education Curriculum. The school is a non-profit private institution run by the Society Persatuan Sekolah Jerman Malaysia (Deutscher Schulverein Malaysia). Sri Sithi Vinayagar Temple is a Hindu temple located along Jalan Selangor in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is also generally referred to as the PJ Pillaiyar Temple. The resident deity is Ganesha in the form of Sri Sithi Vinayagar. The temple is said to be the largest temple in Malaysia dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The temple was completed in 1964 following Dravidian architecture and remains one of the main Hindu temples serving the religious needs of the Hindu population of Petaling Jaya. It is run by the Petaling Jaya Hindu Association.

Bible College of Malaysia (BCM) is a denominational seminary affiliated with the Assemblies of God of Malaysia. It is located in the city of Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Established in 1960, BCM is accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) and is a charter member of the Asia Pacific Theological Association (APTA).

Catholic High School Petaling Jaya (CHSPJ), more commonly known as SMJK Katholik or 公教中学 in Mandarin is a co-educational government Catholic missionary school in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, formerly recognised as a Cluster School of Excellence by the Malaysian Ministry of Education. Founded in 1956 by Rev. Bro. Philippe Wu of the Marist Brothers. It has approximately 3000 students. Due to having the status of a Chinese conforming school, applicants are required to have taken Chinese paper for UPSR, also known as the Primary School Achievement Test. Mandarin paper is compulsory for all students and enrolment examinations such as PT3 and SPM.
