Porteau Cove Provincial Park is a provincial park located along the eastern shore of Howe Sound in British Columbia, Canada.

The Britannia Mines Concentrator is a National Historic Site of Canada. The large, inclined gravity mill was built on the northwest side of Mount Sheer to assist the transfer of copper ore through the chemical and mechanical processes of the plant. It is a landmark in Britannia Beach, British Columbia some forty-five kilometers north of Vancouver. The nearby volcanic peak of Mount Garibaldi indicates the presence of magmatic inclusions and volcanic cores, in which copper is usually found. As such, the town and mill sit on the western shore of the Britannia Range and defined by the large fjord of Howe Sound. The mining claims were discovered in the 1880s and the Britannia Beach Mining and Smelting Company established in the Edwardian years. Copper was first mined in the area in 1903 and the distance from smelters necessitated the construction of an ore concentrator, a system to deliver ore, and a system to ship the ore concentrate. A primitive concentrator, No. 1, was built in 1904, which was upgraded with two more units, collective known as No.2, built in 1914 and 1915. A fire in 1921 destroyed these, and a concrete and steel structure to house a new concentrator was completed (immediately to the right of the 1914 plant) in early 1923. In the late 1920s, Britannia Mines was the most productive copper mine in the British Empire, and it also produced silver and gold. Now owned by the Britannia Beach Historical Society, it is part of the Britannia Mine Museum.

The Britannia Mine Museum, formerly British Columbia Museum of Mining, is a non-profit organization in Britannia Beach, 55 km kilometres north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on the Sea-to-Sky Highway on Howe Sound. It is governed by the Britannia Beach Historical Society. The museum preserves and presents to the public information and artifacts related to British Columbia's mining industry.

Britannia Beach (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh: Shisháyu7áy, IPA: [ʃɪʃæjʊʔaj]) is a small unincorporated community in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District located approximately 55 kilometres north of Vancouver, British Columbia on the Sea-to-Sky Highway on Howe Sound. It has a population of about 300. It includes the nearby Britannia Creek, a small to mid-sized stream that flows into Howe Sound that was historically one of North America's most polluted waterways. The community first developed between 1900 and 1904 as the residential area for the staff of the Britannia Mining and Smelting Company. The residential areas and the mining operation were physically interrelated, resulting in coincidental mining and community disasters through its history. Today, the town is host to the Britannia Mine Museum, formerly known as the British Columbia Museum of Mining, on the grounds of the old Britannia Mines. The mine's old Concentrator facilities, used to separate copper ore from its containing rock, are a National Historic Site of Canada.

The Britannia Range is a small mountain range of the Coast Mountains that runs along the eastern shore of Howe Sound just north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is a subrange of the Pacific Ranges and often considered part of the North Shore Mountains. The range is bounded by the Howe Sound to the west, the Stawamus River to the north, Loch Lomond on the upper Seymour River to the east, and Deeks Lake to the south. However, some official maps extend the range further south of these boundaries and many local sources such as hiking guidebooks will often include all of the peaks along the Howe Sound between Deeks Lake and Cypress Mountain as part of the range.The geology of the Britannia Range is different to the surrounding highly granitic North Shore Mountains due to the high prevalence of volcanic rock (such as at Watts Point volcanic centre) and sedimentary rock like sandstone and shale.The range's name was conferred by Captain Richards in 1859 after the 100-gun HMS Britannia, which saw action at the Battle of St. Vincent, 1797 and the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. Mountains within the range allude to British royalty, Mount Hanover and Mount Windsor for the respective dynasties. This is the source of the name of the town Britannia Beach. The tallest mountain in the Britannia Range is Sky Pilot Mountain, a horn-shaped summit prominently visible to southbound traffic on BC Highway 99 on the descent from Whistler to Squamish.

Murrin Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located just south of Squamish beside the Sea-to-Sky Highway. The park is approximately 24 ha. in size and has a popular highway-side picnic ground and small swimming lake (Browning Lake), but it is most notable for a collection of petroglyphs located away from the highway and accessed by trail. Several rockfaces in the area of the park are popular with the local mountain-climbing community, though the site is nowhere as busy as the nearby Stawamus Chief. Other provincial parks nearby are Stawamus Chief Provincial Park, Shannon Falls Provincial Park and Porteau Cove Provincial Park.

Watts Point is a point in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, located on the eastern side of Howe Sound northwest of Britannia Beach.

The Watts Point volcanic centre is a small outcrop of Pleistocene age volcanic rock at Watts Point in British Columbia, Canada, about 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Squamish and 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Vancouver, and just north of Britannia Beach. It is the southernmost volcanic zone in the Squamish volcanic field and of the Garibaldi segment of the Cascade Volcanic Arc. The latest research indicates that it is most likely a subglacial mound. It comprises a continuous mass of sparsely porphyritic highly jointed dacitic lava overlying the mid-Cretaceous Coast Plutonic Complex and overlain locally by clay and of glacial till. The volcanic outcrop at Watts Point extends from below the present sea level up the side of a steep slope over 240 metres (800 ft). The outcrop is less than 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) long, with an area of about 0.4 square kilometres (0.2 sq mi) and an eruptive volume of roughly 0.02 cubic kilometres (0.0048 cu mi). The location is heavily forested, and the BC Rail mainline passes through the lower portion of the outcrop about 40 m (130 ft) above sea level. Two railroad track ballast quarries, one near the middle and the other near the upper edge, provide the best exposure of the interior of the lava mass. BC Highway 99 climbs over the eastern shoulder of the complex before descending to the area of the Stawamus Chief and Murrin Park, south southeast of Squamish.

The Defence Islands are two small islands in Howe Sound, British Columbia, Canada, northeast of Anvil Island and in the northern reaches of that sound near Porteau Cove. The easterly and smaller of the two comprises Defence Island Indian Reserve No. 28 (1.7 hectares); the westerly comprises the Kwum Kwum Indian Reserve (unnumbered, 6.20 hectares), both under the administration of the Squamish Nation.

Capilano Mountain, 1,692 metres (5,551 ft), is a summit in the Britannia Range, a subrange of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. The mountain is located just east of the village of Furry Creek on the Howe Sound shoreline below. Capilano Mountain is one of the northernmost peaks that can be seen from downtown Vancouver and is therefore often considered to be one of the northernmost North Shore Mountains. It is the headwaters of the Capilano River in the Capilano Watershed, which flows south through to Capilano Lake and the North Shore of the Burrard Inlet. Its north aspect drains into the Howe Sound via Furry and Downing creeks. Capilano Mountain is typically ascended via the Beth Lake Trail, accessed by Furry Downing Road from the village of Furry Creek.

Woodfibre, originally Britannia West, was a pulp mill and at one time a small company town, on the west side of upper Howe Sound near Squamish, British Columbia. The mill closed in March 2006.

Darrell Bay, formerly Shannon Bay, is a bay and associated ferry terminal and unincorporated settlement on the northeast coast of Howe Sound to the south of Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. It is adjacent to Shannon Falls Provincial Park, which lies immediately across BC Highway 99 (the Sea to Sky Highway). Known locally as Shannon Bay until 1949, after William Shannon, one of the original landholders in the vicinity and the namesake of Shannon Falls, it was renamed by the Hydrographic Service as the result of a petition from Darrell Burgess, who owned a fishing camp at this spot (the locality was already known as Burgess Camp, though the bay was Shannon Bay). No reason was indicated why the established local name was not submitted by the Hydrographic Service. The Darrell Bay Ferry is the only access to and from the former pulp-mill town of Woodfibre, which lies directly across Howe Sound and is now a retirement-recreational community.
