Bradaford is a village in Devon, England.

Virginstow is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district of Devon, England. It is situated about 7 miles north of Launceston in Cornwall. According to the 2001 census, it had a population of 115, however, after the great flood of 2004 all residents are now presumed dead.

Ashwater is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 651 that had risen to 673 by the 2011 census. It is close to the Cornish border, and is about 10 miles north of Launceston.The church is thirteenth century, with fifteenth-century windows, with an arcade that mixes the two periods. The decorated font is Norman, described by Mee as "a great treasure". The former rectory is a Grade II listed building.

Broadwoodwidger is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 548. The village is just to the north of the A30 road, and is about eight miles east of Launceston in Cornwall, and 13 miles west of Okehampton. Roadford Reservoir, which is also called Roadford Lake, is to the north-east of the village, and the River Wolf passes at the bottom of the hillside on which the village stands. Broadwoodwidger has a church on top of the hill, with views to Brentor and surrounding countryside. There is a village green, phone box, bus shelter and post box. The parish had a small primary school three miles north of the village at Ivyhouse Cross, but it has now been closed down. The church is 15th century, with some 13th-century features such as the tower and chancel. There is also a Norman font, and benches with carvings of curious animals. Broadwoodwidger was from 1876 to 1922 in the Diocese of Truro but was then returned to the Diocese of Exeter. Bishop John Grandisson appropriated the church to Frithelstock Priory in 1333. From 1273 the advowson and manor had been held by the Widger family; they were acquired by the priory by the generosity of the Stapeldons. Bishop Fox augmented the vicarage in 1479.The name derives from broad wood of the Wyger family and is first documented as Brod(e)wode Wyger in 1306. The manor here passed from the Vypund family to the Wygers before 1273. It was earlier known simply as Broad wood, for example it appears as Bradewode in the Domesday Book of 1086.

Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, formerly known as Dingles Steam Village, is a museum that features a collection of historical fairground rides, equipment, and other memorabilia. Located in Lifton, Devon, United Kingdom, the museum is operated by a charity called the Fairground Heritage Trust and first opened to the public in 2003. The rides are restored and placed into operation for guests to experience, with many dating back to the early 20th century, complete with original artwork.

St Giles on the Heath, sometimes hyphenated as St Giles-on-the-Heath, is a village and civil parish in the far west of Devon, England. It forms part of the local government district of Torridge. The village is in the east of the parish and lies on the A388 road about eight miles south of the town of Holsworthy. The parish includes the hamlets of Hele, West Panson, East Panson, Sitcott, Box's Shop, Peter's Finger, West Druxton, Poole and Netherbridge. The parish is surrounded clockwise from the north-west by the parishes of Northcott, Luffincott, Ashwater, Virginstow, Broadwoodwidger and Lifton. Its western border follows the River Tamar which forms the county boundary with Cornwall. In 2001 its population was 617, significantly higher than the 258 residents it had in 1901. The village is part of Broadheath electoral ward. At the 2011 census the population was 1,650.

Hayne in the parish of Stowford in Devon, is an historic manor, about 11 miles (18 km) south-west of Okehampton. The surviving manor house, a Grade II* listed building known as Hayne House, was rebuilt in about 1810 by Isaac Donnithorne (died 1848), who later adopted the surname Harris having married the heiress of Harris of Hayne.

The River Wolf is a minor river in the west of the county of Devon in England. Its name may come from a Celtic or earlier name recorded by the Roman map-maker Ptolemy (Ptolemy II 3 13) as Ουολιβα (Voliba) as a town of the Dumnonii (it may be Broadbury Castle); rather than referring to the wolf animal. The river runs from Broadbury through the valley below Germansweek and empties into Roadford Lake, a man-made reservoir built in 1989. In July 2006 some 100 million litres of water were released from the lake to help the survival of salmon in the river during a prolonged period of drought.After Roadford Lake the river continues through Slew Woods below the village of Broadwoodwidger. It then continues in a southerly direction eventually merging with the River Thrushel just north of Tinhay and then joins the River Lyd at Lifton. The River Lyd eventually joins the River Tamar at the Devon/Cornwall border just east of Launceston. The United Kingdom's environmental organisation Natural England currently runs a grant scheme called Catchment-sensitive farming. The River Wolf is included within one of the priority catchments targeted in this scheme

Lifton is a village and civil parish in Devon, South West England near the confluence of the rivers Wolf and Lyd, 1¼ miles south of the A30 trunk road and very near the border between Devon and Cornwall. The village is part of the electoral ward of Thrushel. The population of the surrounding Thrushel ward (which includes the village of Thrushelton to the east of Lifton) at the 2011 census was 1680.

Northcott is a small settlement and civil parish in the far west of Devon, England. It lies about seven miles south of the town of Holsworthy and forms part of the local government district of Torridge. It is bordered on the north by the parish of Luffincott and on the east and south by the parish of St Giles on the Heath. Its western border follows the River Tamar which forms the county boundary with Cornwall. In 2001 its population was 26, down from 60 in 1901. Whilst it is administered as a separate parish in Devon, for ecclesiastical purposes it is linked with the parish of Boyton across the River Tamar in Cornwall, and it has been transferred from one county to the other several times.Boyton Mill is a stone building near the river that dates from the early 12th century and retains its machinery and an overshot waterwheel. In Northcott Wood, south of the mill, is a likely Iron Age defended enclosure that overlooks the river.

Clawton is a village and civil parish in the far west of Devon, England. It forms part of the local government district of Torridge. The village lies about three miles south of the town of Holsworthy on the A388 road. The parish is surrounded clockwise from the north-west by the parishes of Pyworthy, Holsworthy Hamlets, Ashwater, and Tetcott. Its western border follows the River Tamar which forms the county boundary with Cornwall. In 2001 its population was 326, slightly down from 389 in 1901.The ancient parish church, dedicated to St Leonard, has some Norman features in one of its windows and it has a Norman font. Its tower and the arcades of the north and south aisles date from the 14th century and it has 15th-century arches of Polyphant stone. It was partly restored in 1873.Blagdon a former manor house, is situated nearby. Other notable buildings in the parish are ; Gunnacott, which Pevsner says has unusually rich 17th-century carpentry for north Devon; and Eastcombe, which has a sundial on its front that is dated 1737 and bears an unusual inscription.
