Trient is also the German name for the city of Trento, ItalyTrient (French pronunciation: [tʁiɛ̃]) is a municipality in the district of Martigny in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Col de la Forclaz (el. 1,527 m or 5,010 ft) is a mountain pass in the Alps in the Canton of Valais in Switzerland. It connects Martigny at 471 m (1,545 ft) and Le Châtelard (Finhaut). The road from Martigny to the Col has an average gradient of 6% but in parts is closer to 8%. After the Col, and Le Châtelard, the road leads to Chamonix in France via Vallorcine and the Col des Montets. The pass was little known in the 19th century. It was not until the rise in tourism, particularly in Chamonix, that the region became a popular tourist area.

Le Génépi (2,884 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Mont Blanc massif, located west of Champex in the canton of Valais. It is the culminating point of the group lying north of the Fenêtre d'Arpette.

The Pointe des Ecandies is a mountain of the Mont Blanc Massif, located between Trient and Champex in the canton of Valais. It is located north of the Pointe d'Orny and east of the Trient Glacier.

Mont de l'Arpille is a mountain of the Alps, located south-west of Martigny in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is located north of the Col de la Forclaz and geographically part of the Mont Blanc massif.

Frutigen-Niedersimmental District in the Canton of Bern was created on 1 January 2010. It is part of the Oberland administrative region. It contains 13 municipalities with an area of 773.93 km2 (298.82 sq mi) and a population (as of December 2008) of 38,871.

Finhaut railway station (French: Gare de Finhaut) is a railway station in the municipality of Finhaut, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is located on the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge Martigny–Châtelard line of Transports de Martigny et Régions.
