Rafat, Salfit

Leshem (Hebrew: לֶשֶם) is a religious Israeli unauthorized settlement in the West Bank. It is located on Route 446, about 13 km (8 miles) west of the Palestinian city of Salfit and about 37 km (23 miles) northwest of Jerusalem, in the Palestinian side of the Israeli West Bank barrier. Leshem is neighbored by the Israeli settlements of Alei Zahav (of which Leshem is officially "a neighborhood"), Peduel, Bruchin, Beit Aryeh-Ofarim, the archeological site of Deir Samaan, and the Palestinian villages Rafat, Kafr ad-Dik, and Deir Ballut. Leshem settlement rises to a height of 360 meters (1181.1 feet) above sea level and is stretched across two hills, the eastern hill and the western hill which altogether cover about 497 dunam (122.811 acres).The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government dispute this.

Peduel (Hebrew: פְּדוּאֵל) is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Located about 10 km from the Palestinian city of Burqin, 25 km east of Tel Aviv and adjacent to Alei Zahav, Beit Aryeh-Ofarim and Brukhin, it is organised as a community settlement and falls under the jurisdiction of Shomron Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 2,098. The Shilo Stream passes to the south, and the Shilo Stream Nature Preserve borders Peduel on the north and west. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.

Az-Zawiya (Arabic: الزاويه) is a Palestinian town in the Salfit Governorate in the northern West Bank, located west of Salfit and south of Qalqilya. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, az-Zawiya had a population of 4,754 in 2007. The town's population is made up of primarily three families: Shuqeir (45%), Muqadi (30%) and Raddad (20%), while the remaining 5% consists of Palestinian refugee families such as Shamlawi, Rabi and Yusif.

Alei Zahav (Hebrew: עֲלֵי זָהָב, lit. Golden Leaves) is an Israeli settlement organized as a community settlement located on the western edge of the northern West Bank, adjacent to the Palestinian towns of Deir Ballut and Kafr ad-Dik, whose lands were confiscated for building Alei Zahav. The settlement, under the administrative municipal government of the Shomron Regional Council, is adjacent to Peduel and Beit Aryeh. In 2021 its population was 4,280. Israeli outposts are unauthorized in Israeli law, while Israeli settlements are considered illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.

Deir Ballut (Arabic: دير بلّوط) is a Palestinian town located in the Salfit Governorate in the northern West Bank, 41 kilometers (25 mi) south west of Nablus. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, it had a population of 3,195 in 2007.

Mas-ha (Arabic: مسحة) is a Palestinian village located in the Salfit Governorate in the northern West Bank, 24 kilometers southwest of Nablus. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, it had a population of 2,370 in 2017.

Elkana or Elqana (Hebrew: אֶלְקָנָה) is an Israeli settlement and local council in the north-western Samarian hills in the West Bank, located 3.1 km to the east of the Green Line and the city of Rosh HaAyin. It was founded in 1977 by a group from Gush Emunim of religious and non-religious Jews, and by July 2020 it had a population of 3858.Israeli settlements in the West Bank are considered illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.

Kafr ad-Dik (Arabic: كفر الديك) is a Palestinian town located 9.5 kilometers west of Salfit in the Salfit Governorate of Palestine, in the northern West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the town had a population of 5,551 in 2017.Approximately 70% of the families in Kafr ad-Dik are dependent on agriculture as the main source of income, while the remaining 30% work in the private and public sectors. The unemployment rate in the town is 60%.The town's total land area consists of 15,228 dunams of which 578 dunams are built-up. In the town's area, the archaeological ruins of Deir Samaan are located. The Israeli settlements of Peduel and Alei Zahav, as well as nearby Israeli outposts, are built over 1,448 dunams of Kafr ad-Dik's land. As a result of the Interim Agreement on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian National Authority controls the civil affairs of 1,953 dunums of Kafr ad-Dik's land (Area B), while 13,275 dunams are classified as Area C, which is under full Israeli control.

Magen Dan (Hebrew: מגן דן, lit. Dan Shield) is an Israeli outpost in the West Bank. It is located around 750 metres west of Elkana and – consistent with its name – at the eastern edge of the territory of the biblical tribe of Dan. Established in May 1999, it falls under the jurisdiction of Shomron Regional Council. Israeli outposts in the West Bank, like Magen Dan, are considered illegal both under international law as well as under Israeli law.According to ARIJ, Magen Dan was established after Israeli settlers "forcefully seized" 76 dunams (0.076 km2; 0.029 sq mi) of land from the nearby Palestinian village of Zawiya.

Etz Efraim (Hebrew: עֵץ אֶפְרַיִם, lit. Tree of Ephraim) is a mixed (religious and nonreligious) Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Located between Ariel and Rosh HaAyin, it falls under the jurisdiction of Shomron Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 2,519. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.

Beit Aryeh-Ofarim (Hebrew: בֵּית אַרְיֵה-עֳפָרִים) is an Israeli settlement and local council in the northern West Bank. It is located 32 kilometers (20 mi) north of Jerusalem and 25 kilometers (16 mi) east of Tel Aviv, near the Palestinian village of al-Lubban al-Gharbi, 3.8 km kilometers east of the Green line. It is situated on the Palestinian side of the Israeli West Bank barrier, on 8,500 dunams of land. In 2021 it had a population of 5,409. Israeli settlements in the West Bank are considered illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.

Al-Lubban al-Gharbi (Arabic: اللبّن الغربيّ) is a Palestinian village in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, located 21 kilometers northwest of Ramallah in the northern West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the village had a population of 1,476 inhabitants in 2007.Al-Lubban al-Gharbi has a total land area of 9,694 dunams, of which 335 are built-up area. Most of the remaining land is either grown with olive and almond orchards or open for continued expansion of the village. However, the Israeli West Bank barrier will separate 59% of Lubban al-Gharbi's land from the village's urban area. The village's infrastructure facilities include an elementary school a kindergarten, and two clinics.
