The Krembil Research Institute, formerly known as the Toronto Western Research Institute, is an academic medical research institute in Toronto. It is one of the largest research institutes in Canada focusing on human neurological disease. Krembil is one of the principal research institutes of the University Health Network and is the research institute of the Toronto Western Hospital. Krembil researches treatments for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, stroke, brain tumours, concussions, spinal cord injuries, neuro-ophthalmologic and other ocular disorders, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune disorders.

St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral is a Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Toronto, Ontario, Canada located on Bathurst Street just to the west of Kensington Market. The majority of the first Ukrainian immigrants to Canada were Eastern Catholic believers with only a small fraction belonging to the Eastern Orthodox faith. This changed with later waves of immigration that saw more people coming from the Orthodox east. The first Ukrainian Orthodox Union in Toronto was established in 1926. For several years they met in rented halls and in churches of other denominations. The land on Bathurst was purchased in 1935. Work on the cathedral began in 1946 and was completed two years later. The cathedral is in the standard Byzantine style used throughout Ukraine.

Trinity—Spadina was a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999. The electoral district was created in 1999 when provincial ridings were defined to have the same borders as federal ridings. It generally encompasses the western portion of Downtown Toronto. In the 2001 Canadian census, the riding had 106,094 people of which 74,409 were eligible to vote. Its Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) elect is Chris Glover of the Ontario New Democratic Party, who unseated short lived MPP Han Dong in the 2018 general election. Major landmarks within the riding include the western portion of the University of Toronto, the CN Tower, Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome), Air Canada Centre, the Canadian Broadcasting Centre, 299 Queen Street West, the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto City Hall, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Christie Pits, Trinity Bellwoods Park and Palmerston Boulevard. The riding is one of the most ethnically diverse in Canada containing the heart of Toronto's Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Italy and Little Portugal. The northern section of the riding is the trendy Annex district, while the eastern edge contains part of the University of Toronto and thousands of students. The riding has been the most left-leaning in Toronto and has voted NDP provincially for a number of years. In 2018, the district was dissolved into Spadina—Fort York, University—Rosedale and Toronto Centre.

Poor Alex Theatre was a theatre company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Poor Alex opened in Toronto's Annex neighbourhood in the 1960s in a property owned by Ed Mirvish and took its name as a parody of the Mirvish-owned Royal Alexandra Theatre. A small theatre venue, it hosted a comedy and off Broadway-style productions and was the original home of the "Jest Society", which later became famous as the Royal Canadian Air Farce. In 1996, Valerie Morgan (executive producer) took over the theatre began renovations and equipment upgrades. She publicized the theatre's historical past and its future goals. The Poor Alex Theatre began the Cabaret, welcoming nightly or weekend performances. It became a place to house all types of events. The location at Brunswick and Bloor was sold in August 2005, and The Poor Alex Theatre relocated to 772A Dundas St. W. one block west of Bathurst St. The new venue space with 200 seating capacity has been designed for multi-tasking any type of event and rigged with full lighting and audio capabilities for a professionally staged performance. The Poor Alex closed and the venue is now home to the Green Room.

The First Russian Congregation of Rodfei Sholem Anshei Kiev, known as the Kiever Synagogue or Kiever Shul, is a Modern Orthodox Jewish synagogue in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was founded by Jewish immigrants from Ukraine in 1912, and formally incorporated in 1914. The congregants were poor working-people, and services were led by members and held in their homes. Two houses were eventually purchased in the Kensington Market area, and in their place construction was completed on the current twin-domed Byzantine Revival building in 1927. The building was once the site of George Taylor Denison's home Bellevue. Changing demographics led to a decline in membership in the 1950s and 1960s, and the synagogue building deteriorated. In 1973, the Canadian Jewish Congress decided to help preserve it, and in 1979, the Kiever Synagogue became the first building of Jewish significance to be designated a historical site by the province of Ontario. By 1982 sufficient funds had been raised to restore the building. The congregation's first and longest-tenured rabbi was Solomon Langner, who served from around 1929 until his death in 1973. As of 2018, the synagogue president was Adam S. Cohen.

The No. 8 Hose Station is a small fire hall that is a Toronto landmark. It is located on College Street at Bellevue and marks the northern end of Kensington Market and serves the Chinatown area at Spadina and Dundas.

Sneaky Dee's is a concert venue and Tex-Mex restaurant in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Originally opened in 1987 on the north west corner of Bloor Street and Bathurst, it moved to its present location at College and Bathurst in 1990.

St. Stephen-in-the-Fields Anglican Church is an Anglican Church of Canada parish church in the Kensington Market neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario. It was the first Anglican church established in the city west of Spadina Avenue. St. Stephen's is known for a number of community outreach programs. Designed by Thomas Fuller, later Chief Dominion Architect, in the Gothic Revival style, the church is designed under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act as being of significant cultural heritage value.

On March 12, 2014, Chow resigned from her seat in order to run for the 2014 Toronto mayoral election, and the seat was won by Adam Vaughan, in a by-election. The riding has long been a battle ground between the NDP and the Liberals, with the Liberals recently winning both federally and provincially. Major landmarks within the riding included the western portion of the University of Toronto, the CN Tower, Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome), Air Canada Centre, the Canadian Broadcasting Centre, 299 Queen Street West, the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto City Hall, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Christie Pits, Trinity Bellwoods Park, the southern portion of Bay Street and Palmerston Boulevard. Ideal Lofts is an architecturally noted low-rise soft loft condominium apartment building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at Markham Street and College Street in the downtown neighbourhoods of Little Italy and Trinity–Bellwoods. The project was developed by Context and designed by Peter Clewes, Prishram Jain and Robert Cadeau of architectsAlliance. Cecconi Simone and Crayon Design designed the interiors. The building was registered on August 19, 2002.
