Hendon School

The Jewish Military Museum was a museum located in Hendon, Barnet, North London, which featured exhibits about Jews serving in the British armed forces from the 18th century to the present day. It has now closed and the collection was moved to the Jewish Museum London in Camden in 2015.

Hendon Park is a 12 hectare London suburban park situated 7 miles (11 km) north west of Charing Cross. It borders the Northern line, and Hendon Park and Northern line Railway Cutting are a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation. It also has an outdoor gym,(added in 2016) a playground, a café, and a stairway-bridge connecting the park near to Brent Cross. The park also offers tennis and basketball courts as well, and contains approximately 4-5 entrances from different areas of the park.

Hendon Reform Synagogue, a member of the Movement for Reform Judaism, was a synagogue in Hendon in the London Borough of Barnet. The community was founded in 1949. Its senior rabbi was Steven Katz, who succeeded his father, Arthur Katz.Its synagogue building, which was consecrated on 14 January 1968, closed in 2017 when the community merged with Edgware & District Reform Synagogue to form Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue.

Brent Park is a small public park of 2.24 hectares in Hendon in the London Borough of Barnet. It is part of the 'Lower Dollis Brook' Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II. The park is a narrow wooded strip of land west of the North Circular Road between Brent Street and Bell Lane. It is almost wholly managed for nature conservation apart from a small area of mown grass at the northern end. The River Brent runs along the western edge, and there are three ponds next to the river. These are the remains of a lake built possibly as long as a thousand years ago by the abbots of Westminster as a duck decoy. Tufted ducks, mallards, coots and moorhens still nest on a wooded island on one of the ponds.An Ordnance Survey map of 1875 shows the park as part of Decoy Wood, the grounds of Brent Bridge House, which stood at the southern end, while it was surrounded by Decoy Farm. The park was opened in 1934, and the house was demolished the following year.The Capital Ring goes through Brent Park. There is access from North Circular Road, Brent Street and Bell Lane.

Hendon is an urban area in the Borough of Barnet, North-West London 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Charing Cross. Hendon was an ancient manor and parish in the county of Middlesex and a former borough, the Municipal Borough of Hendon; it has been part of Greater London since 1965. Hendon falls almost entirely within the NW4 postcode, while the West Hendon part falls in NW9. Colindale to the north-west was once considered part of Hendon but is today separated by the M1 motorway.The district is most famous for the London Aerodrome which later became the RAF Hendon; from 1972 the site of the RAF station was gradually handed over to the RAF Museum. The railways reached Hendon in 1868 with Hendon station on the Midland Main Line, followed by the London Underground further east under the name Hendon Central in 1923. Brent Street emerged as its commercial centre by the 1890s. A social polarity was developed between the uphill areas of Hendon and the lowlands around the railway station.The source of the River Brent starts in Hendon and marks the local boundaries with Golders Green and Cricklewood. Hendon is located by numerous arbitrary roads, namely the A41, A406 (North Circular), the A1 and the M1 motorway. Today Hendon is home to rugby union club Saracens F.C. based at Copthall, and is also home to Middlesex University. It is represented in parliament by its namesake constituency which also includes Edgware and Mill Hill.

Mutton Brook is a stream which runs between East Finchley and Hendon in the London Borough of Barnet. It is a tributary of the River Brent, which is itself a tributary of the River Thames. The brook rises in Cherry Tree Wood and flows underground to emerge at the back of Belvedere Court, Lyttleton Road. It then passes under Lyttleton Road and flows along the south side of the road and Falloden Way through Lyttleton Playing Fields, Fletchers Gardens and Northway Gardens. Near Brookland Rise, it crosses briefly to the north side of Falloden Way before crossing back to Brookside Walk. It passes under Finchley Road at Henlys Corner and then under the North Circular Road to meet Dollis Brook close to Bridge Lane. The two brooks then become the River Brent. The brook is confined in a concrete or wood channel along the whole of its length, and the water quality is often poor. However, from Lyttleton Playing Fields to the junction with Dollis Brook its route is almost all through local parks. The downstream section is lined by oak, ash and willow trees, providing a good habitat for birds, and grey wagtails often forage at its edge. The brook is a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation.Until 1965, Mutton Brook was the southern boundary of the Municipal Borough of Finchley. The Capital Ring and Dollis Valley Greenwalk follow Mutton Brook.

Hendon Central is a London Underground station in North West London on the A41. The station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line, between Colindale and Brent Cross stations, and is on the boundary between Travelcard Zone 3 and Zone 4. Its postcode is NW4 2TE. It was opened along with Brent Cross (then called Brent) tube station on 19 November 1923 as the first stage of an extension of the Golders Green branch of the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway. The station served as the terminus of the line's western fork until 18 August 1924 when the second and final section of the extension to Edgware was opened.

Brent Cross is a major traffic interchange and area in the London Borough of Barnet, England. Originally the name of a crossroads, it is located a mile from the centres of Hendon and Golders Green. Notably, the Brent Cross Shopping Centre, a major retail facility, was opened in 1976, south of the interchange. The "Brent Cross Flyover" A41 runs to the east of the shopping centre over the A406 North Circular Road, while the M1 motorway and A5 Edgware Road are to the west at Staples Corner interchange. In addition, the Northern line (Edgware branch) and Thameslink rail routes run on viaducts. The River Brent passes through the area, flowing from east to west in a man-made channel. The Shopping Centre falls within the NW4 postcode district; the Brent South Retail Park falls within NW2; and the Brent Cross tube station is within NW11.

Hendon Way is one of London's busiest roads. It connects Finchley Road to Watford Way. It passes through Hampstead and Hendon, and forms part of the A41 road. (London-Liverpool). It is a road that passes Staples Corner and meets the Watford Bypass.

St Mary's and St John's CE School is a mixed Church of England all-through school located in the Hendon area of the London Borough of Barnet, England. The school admits pupils aged 3 – 18. Known as SMSJ, it was created by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and London Borough of Barnet to provide a mixed Church of England-based education up to Sixth Form for an increasing number of pupils in the Barnet area. It was the first all-through school in Barnet. It specialises in performing arts as well as Business & Enterprise, offering discrete Music, Dance & Drama to its students, as well as scholarships in these subjects. It is based on 3 sites: A Nursery School and Reception to Year 4 are based at the Lower School on Prothero Gardens; Years 5 - 8 at the Middle School on Sunningfields Road and Years 9 - 13 at the Stamford Raffles campus on the Downage. The school has undergone a huge refurbishment and rebuilding programme and the newest site opened on the Downage in September 2017. It is a voluntary aided school, part of the London Diocesan Board of Schools, administered by the Church of England Diocese of London. It is not an Academy but is free of control from the Local Authority and has the freedom of Voluntary Aided status. Previously a primary school located at Prothero Gardens in Hendon, SMSJ was asked to expand by Barnet Local Authority and began accepting secondary school age pupils in September 2014 when the Middle School site opened on the former St Mary's CE School Upper Site in Sunningfields Road. The building was officially opened by the then Bishop of London, Richard Chartres. The school now operates a sixth form, and has a pupil roll of some 1,800 pupils across its three sites. The third campus and Upper School building, Stamford Raffles opened on the former St Mary's Lower School site in Downage in September 2017. It was officially opened by the Bishop of Edmonton, Rob Wickham, in November 2017.

Brent Cross Shopping Centre is a large shopping centre in Hendon, north London, owned by Hammerson and Abrdn. Located by the Brent Cross interchange, it opened in 1976 as the UK's first out-of-town shopping centre. Brent Cross attracted 15–16 million shoppers a year as of 2011 and has one of the largest incomes per unit area of retail space in the country.

Brent Cross is a London Underground station located on Highfield Avenue in the Golders Green area of north west London. The station is a Grade II listed building.The station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line, between Hendon Central and Golders Green stations, and in Travelcard Zone 3. The Brent Cross shopping centre is some distance away.
