Hendon Way

Hendon Park is a 12 hectare London suburban park situated 7 miles (11 km) north west of Charing Cross. It borders the Northern line, and Hendon Park and Northern line Railway Cutting are a Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation. It also has an outdoor gym,(added in 2016) a playground, a café, and a stairway-bridge connecting the park near to Brent Cross. The park also offers tennis and basketball courts as well, and contains approximately 4-5 entrances from different areas of the park.

Hendon Central is a London Underground station in North West London on the A41. The station is on the Edgware branch of the Northern line, between Colindale and Brent Cross stations, and is on the boundary between Travelcard Zone 3 and Zone 4. Its postcode is NW4 2TE. It was opened along with Brent Cross (then called Brent) tube station on 19 November 1923 as the first stage of an extension of the Golders Green branch of the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway. The station served as the terminus of the line's western fork until 18 August 1924 when the second and final section of the extension to Edgware was opened.

Hendon is an urban area in the Borough of Barnet, North-West London 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Charing Cross. Hendon was an ancient manor and parish in the county of Middlesex and a former borough, the Municipal Borough of Hendon; it has been part of Greater London since 1965. Hendon falls almost entirely within the NW4 postcode, while the West Hendon part falls in NW9. Colindale to the north-west was once considered part of Hendon but is today separated by the M1 motorway.The district is most famous for the London Aerodrome which later became the RAF Hendon; from 1972 the site of the RAF station was gradually handed over to the RAF Museum. The railways reached Hendon in 1868 with Hendon station on the Midland Main Line, followed by the London Underground further east under the name Hendon Central in 1923. Brent Street emerged as its commercial centre by the 1890s. A social polarity was developed between the uphill areas of Hendon and the lowlands around the railway station.The source of the River Brent starts in Hendon and marks the local boundaries with Golders Green and Cricklewood. Hendon is located by numerous arbitrary roads, namely the A41, A406 (North Circular), the A1 and the M1 motorway. Today Hendon is home to rugby union club Saracens F.C. based at Copthall, and is also home to Middlesex University. It is represented in parliament by its namesake constituency which also includes Edgware and Mill Hill.

Brent Cross Cricklewood is a new town centre development under construction in Hendon and Cricklewood, London, United Kingdom. The development is planned to cost around £4.5 billion to construct and will include 6,700 homes, workspace for 25,000 people, four parks, transport improvements and a 592,000 sq ft (55,000 m2) extension of Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The developers of the scheme are Hammerson and Standard Life. Construction was planned to start in 2018 and be completed in 2021–22, but in March 2018 a delay was announced to January 2019.In July 2018 it was reported that the shopping centre would be delayed indefinitely. In March 2019, the government granted over £300 million to Brent Council to deliver the new station and other infrastructure necessary for the development. In November 2019, the developers and the council agreed a new timetable in which the shopping centre expansion would come later in the development. Construction began in 2020, with the first residential buildings planned to complete in 2024.

The Coalition for a Sustainable Brent Cross Cricklewood was formed following the submission in March 2008 of a planning application to the London Borough of Barnet by developers of the Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme in the Brent Cross area of north London. The planning application area lies next to the border of Barnet with (on the other side of the A5 Edgware Road - the Roman road Watling Street) the London Borough of Brent.

Brent Cross is a major traffic interchange and area in the London Borough of Barnet, England. Originally the name of a crossroads, it is located a mile from the centres of Hendon and Golders Green. Notably, the Brent Cross Shopping Centre, a major retail facility, was opened in 1976, south of the interchange. The "Brent Cross Flyover" A41 runs to the east of the shopping centre over the A406 North Circular Road, while the M1 motorway and A5 Edgware Road are to the west at Staples Corner interchange. In addition, the Northern line (Edgware branch) and Thameslink rail routes run on viaducts. The River Brent passes through the area, flowing from east to west in a man-made channel. The Shopping Centre falls within the NW4 postcode district; the Brent South Retail Park falls within NW2; and the Brent Cross tube station is within NW11.

St Mary's and St John's CE School is a mixed Church of England all-through school located in the Hendon area of the London Borough of Barnet, England. The school admits pupils aged 3 – 18. Known as SMSJ, it was created by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and London Borough of Barnet to provide a mixed Church of England-based education up to Sixth Form for an increasing number of pupils in the Barnet area. It was the first all-through school in Barnet. It specialises in performing arts as well as Business & Enterprise, offering discrete Music, Dance & Drama to its students, as well as scholarships in these subjects. It is based on 3 sites: A Nursery School and Reception to Year 4 are based at the Lower School on Prothero Gardens; Years 5 - 8 at the Middle School on Sunningfields Road and Years 9 - 13 at the Stamford Raffles campus on the Downage. The school has undergone a huge refurbishment and rebuilding programme and the newest site opened on the Downage in September 2017. It is a voluntary aided school, part of the London Diocesan Board of Schools, administered by the Church of England Diocese of London. It is not an Academy but is free of control from the Local Authority and has the freedom of Voluntary Aided status. Previously a primary school located at Prothero Gardens in Hendon, SMSJ was asked to expand by Barnet Local Authority and began accepting secondary school age pupils in September 2014 when the Middle School site opened on the former St Mary's CE School Upper Site in Sunningfields Road. The building was officially opened by the then Bishop of London, Richard Chartres. The school now operates a sixth form, and has a pupil roll of some 1,800 pupils across its three sites. The third campus and Upper School building, Stamford Raffles opened on the former St Mary's Lower School site in Downage in September 2017. It was officially opened by the Bishop of Edmonton, Rob Wickham, in November 2017.

Whitefield School is a secondary school and sixth form located in the London Borough of Barnet. In 2010, the school was in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country. Since then it has been in the top 1 or 2% of schools in the country for the value it adds to the expected progress of its students. Whitefield was one of the first schools in Barnet to convert to academy status in 2011, in order to use the freedoms granted by this status to further improve the remarkable academic performance of its students.

Clarefield Park is a small park and Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation in Brent Cross in the London Borough of Barnet.It was developed on former wasteland, and has mown grassland, a children's playground and sports facilities. There is access from Claremont Way. In October 2010, Barnet Council gave planning consent for the Brent Cross Cricklewood Planning Application which includes closure of the park and development of the area, but as of August 2019, the park is still open.

Brent Cross Shopping Centre is a large shopping centre in Hendon, north London, owned by Hammerson and Abrdn. Located by the Brent Cross interchange, it opened in 1976 as the UK's first out-of-town shopping centre. Brent Cross attracted 15–16 million shoppers a year as of 2011 and has one of the largest incomes per unit area of retail space in the country.

The 1992 Staples Corner bombing occurred on 11 April 1992 when the Provisional IRA detonated a large van bomb near the Staples Corner junction in North West London, England.

Staples Corner is a major road junction in London, United Kingdom. It is about 6.3 miles (10.1 km) north-west from Charing Cross and directly to the west of the Brent Cross crossover. It has two linked roundabouts and flyovers, which connect the A406 North Circular Road with the A5 Edgware Road and the start of the M1 motorway. Also running through Staples Corner, between the two roundabouts, is the Midland Main Line and Thameslink railway line.
