Delta—Richmond East

Deas Island is a peninsula in the south arm of the Fraser River between Delta, British Columbia and Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. It is home to a regional park approximately 300 acres (120 ha) in size; and has three historic buildings: Burrvilla, a stately Victorian home; Inverholme, a one-room schoolhouse; and the Delta Agricultural Hall. Between 1895-1940's, the peninsula had a small Greek settlement with a population of about 80 at its peak.It is s habitat for many kinds of birds, and a popular bird-watching destination. The peninsula is notable as the site of the southern end of the George Massey Tunnel (originally the Deas Island Tunnel), which is part of Highway 99 and connects Delta to Richmond. The tunnel goes from Deas Island to Lulu Island (Richmond) to the north. A small bridge completes the connection between Deas Island and the main part of Delta.

CISL (650 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Richmond, British Columbia, and serving the Greater Vancouver radio market. It is owned by Rogers Sports & Media and airs a sports format branded as Sportsnet 650 Vancouver. It is the flagship station of the Vancouver Giants, Vancouver Canucks, Abbotsford Canucks, and is the Vancouver affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners. On weekdays, local hosts are heard most of the day, while CBS Sports Radio is heard late nights and weekends. CISL's radio studios are located at 2440 Ash Street in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver. By day, CISL is powered at 20,000 watts; to avoid interference at night to other stations on 650 AM, it reduces power to 4,000 watts. CISL uses a directional antenna at all times with a three-tower array. The transmitter is on Nelson Road off British Columbia Highway 91 on Lulu Island.

The George Massey Tunnel (often referred to as the Massey Tunnel) is a highway traffic tunnel in the Metro Vancouver region of southwestern British Columbia. It is located approximately 20 km (12.4 mi) south of the city centre of Vancouver, British Columbia, and approximately 30 km (18.6 mi) north of the Canada–United States border at Blaine, Washington. Construction, costing approximately $16.6 million in 1959 ($140 million in 2017), began on the tunnel in March 1957, and it was opened to traffic on May 23, 1959 as the Deas Island Tunnel. Queen Elizabeth II attended the official opening ceremony of the tunnel on July 15, 1959. It carries a four-lane divided highway under the south arm of the Fraser River estuary, joining the City of Richmond to the north with the City of Delta to the south. It is the only road tunnel below sea level in Canada, making its roadway the lowest road surface in Canada. The Massey Tunnel was the first to use immersed tube technology in British Columbia.The tunnel forms part of Highway 99. It is named for Nehamiah "George" Massey, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. He represented Delta between 1956 and 1960, and was a long-time advocate of a permanent crossing to replace the Ladner Ferry that crossed the south arm of the Fraser River. The tunnel was renamed the George Massey Tunnel in 1967, three years after Massey died. It is still sometimes referred to by its previous name, the Deas Island Tunnel. Dangerous goods are not allowed to pass through the tunnel.

CKWX (1130 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Owned by Rogers Sports & Media, it broadcasts an news/talk radio format branded as CityNews 1130. CKWX's studios and offices are located at 2440 Ash Street in the Fairview neighbourhood of Vancouver.CKWX is a Class A clear-channel station, broadcasting at 50,000 watts. CKWX broadcasts with a directional antenna at all times, using a two-tower array. The transmitter is located at Number 6 Road at Blundell Road on Lulu Island in Richmond. CKWX's daytime signal covers Southwest British Columbia and Northwest Washington. At night, CKWX can be heard around Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. CKWX is also heard on the second HD Radio subchannel of CJAX-FM.

CHMB is a Canadian AM radio station, broadcasting from Vancouver, British Columbia on 1320 kHz. The station airs a Chinese language programming format. CHMB's studios are located on Commerce Parkway in Richmond, while its transmitters are located on Lulu Island in Richmond. CHMB and CJMR are the only stations in Canada which broadcast on 1320 AM. CHMB is owned and operated by Mainstream Broadcasting Corporation, a British Columbia media company owned and operated by Vancouver businessman James Ho. Mainstream began broadcasting in 1973 as Overseas Chinese Voice (OCV). In 1993, OCV programming was incorporated into the multicultural AM radio station of CHMB AM 1320, which broadcasts to Vancouver's multicultural community. CHMB broadcasts to Vancouver's Chinese-speaking community, and in 12 other languages: Portuguese, Brazilian, Filipino, Greek, Japanese, Tamil, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish.

The Ladner Ferry crossed the south arm of the Fraser River in Metro Vancouver, linking Ladner with Richmond.

The Ladner Leisure Centre is a recreation centre in Ladner, a community in Delta, British Columbia. The facility contains an ice rink and two swimming pools, a six-lane 25-metre competition pool and a wading pool for casual use. It also houses a 2,800 square foot weight room, a fitness studio, multi-purpose rooms, a swirl pool, a sauna, as well as a Blenz coffee shop and a private physiotherapy clinic.The facility is the official training centre of the WHL's Vancouver Giants, the home rink of the PJHL's Delta Ice Hawks, and a home rink, along with Tilbury Arena and South Delta Recreation Centre, for the South Delta Minor Hockey Association. During the summer months the ice is removed and surface is used for lacrosse where it is the home of the BCJLL's Delta Islanders as well as the Delta Lacrosse Association.

Fantasy Gardens, also known as Fantasy Garden World, was a former amusement park in Richmond, British Columbia that was located at the corner of Steveston Highway and No. 5 Road. The park was called Fantasy Gardens because it was surrounded by a series of stone buildings that were designed to resemble structures built during the Middle Ages. The buildings had been used as a backdrop in numerous music videos, television productions, and movies (it stood in for Halloweentown in Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge). Behind the stone buildings were the Biblical Gardens. These gardens were filled with numerous religious icons, including a hedge that had been carved into the shape of a Bible.

The Ladner Exchange is a major transit exchange in the community of Ladner within the city of Delta, British Columbia. Opened on November 24, 1978, it is the primary transit hub for South Delta, serving as a terminus for all but two routes and includes connections to SkyTrain stations in Richmond and Surrey. There is a 200-space park and ride and kiss and ride adjacent to the exchange.

Provincial Resource Program for Autism and Related Disorders is a specialized program within School District 37 Delta. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education to serve the needs of school age students with profound developmental disorders or disabilities that limit their ability to participate in a regular school environment.

CKGO (730 AM) is a commercial radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia, owned by Corus Entertainment and calling itself AM 730. It broadcasts a highway advisory format. Its radio studios and offices are in the TD Tower in Downtown Vancouver. CKGO transmits with a power output of 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. It uses a directional antenna at all times to protect other stations on 730 AM from interference. The transmitter is off British Columbia Highway 17 in Delta.

Delta Hospital (originally known as 'Delta Centennial Hospital') is a community hospital, and Level V trauma centre owned and operated by the Fraser Health Authority in the city of Delta, British Columbia.
