Salisbury High School (Pennsylvania)

Salisbury Township School District is a small, suburban, public school district located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It serves Salisbury Township. The district encompasses approximately 11 square miles (28 km2). As of the 2022–23 school year, the school district had a total enrollment of 1,490 students between all its four schools, according to National Center for Education Statistics data, which include Salisbury High School for grades nine through 12, Salisbury Middle School for grades five through eight, Arts Academy Charter School for grades five through eight, and Salisbury Elementary School for kindergarten through fourth grade. According to 2000 census data, the school district serves a resident population of 13,498. By 2010, The U.S. Census Bureau reported that Salisbury Township School District's resident population was 13,505 people. In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $28,073, while the median family income was $62,534. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. By 2013, the median household income in the United States rose to $52,100. The educational attainment levels for the Salisbury Township School District population (25 years old and over) were 91.0% high school graduates and 28.9% college graduates.Salisbury High School students may choose to attend Lehigh Career and Technical Institute for training in the trades. The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit, IU21, provides the district with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Little Lehigh Creek is approximately 24.0 miles (38.6 km) long and is located in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is sometimes referred to as the Little Lehigh River. It is the largest tributary of the Lehigh River. The creek flows in a winding course through the Lehigh Valley. It originates in Longswamp Township in Berks County and flows generally northeast through Lower Macungie Township and Salisbury Township. In the city of Allentown, it receives Jordan Creek, just before flowing into the Lehigh River. The Little Lehigh has 88.8 square miles (230.0 km2) of drainage area in Lehigh County and 18.7 square miles (48.4 km2) of drainage area in Berks County.

WDIY (88.1 FM) is a community-run public radio station licensed to Allentown, Pennsylvania with studios in Bethlehem and a transmitter atop South Mountain. A member of NPR, the station serves the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, as well as parts of western New Jersey. WDIY has an air staff of over 90 volunteers and a professional staff of six employees, including an executive director. The station is licensed to the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission "is to engage the Lehigh Valley community through a wide-ranging exchange of music, arts, news and culturally diverse information."

The station is owned by Sonshine Family Television. WBPH-TV's studios are located in Allentown, and its transmitter is located on South Mountain in Salisbury Township.

WFMZ-TV (channel 69) is an independent television station in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. Locally-based Maranatha Broadcasting Company owns both WFMZ-TV and Wilmington, Delaware–licensed MeTV affiliate WDPN-TV. Both stations share studios on East Rock Road on South Mountain in Allentown, where WFMZ-TV's transmitter is located. WFMZ-TV also maintains a secondary studio in the PPL Center sports arena in Center City Allentown and a newsroom on Court Street in Reading.

WLVT-TV (channel 39) is a PBS member television station in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. Owned by Lehigh Valley Public Media, it is a sister station to Philadelphia-licensed PBS member WPPT (channel 35). WLVT-TV's studios are located in the south side of Bethlehem, and its transmitter is located south of nearby Allentown atop South Mountain.

WPPT (channel 35) is a PBS member television station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is owned by Lehigh Valley Public Media alongside Allentown-licensed fellow PBS member WLVT-TV (channel 39). As WYBE, the station's transmitter was located in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia; in 2018, it entered into a channel sharing agreement with Allentown-based independent station WFMZ-TV (channel 69) and began operating from WFMZ's transmitter on South Mountain near Allentown. WYBE's main channel was previously carried in the New York City television market on the 66.4 digital subchannel of West Milford, New Jersey–licensed MHz WorldView affiliate WNYJ-TV.

Jordan Creek (Pennsylvania Dutch: Hollenbach) is a 34.1-mile-long (54.9 km) tributary of Little Lehigh Creek in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.Jordan Creek arises from a natural spring on Blue Mountain. The spring is located downhill from the Bake Oven Knob shelter on the Appalachian Trail in Heidelberg Township in Lehigh County. The water course then flows intermittently downhill past Mountain Road, carrying further south through Heidelberg Township and passing through the Trexler Nature Preserve in Schnecksville. Jordan Creek joins Little Lehigh Creek in Allentown before soon flowing into the Lehigh River. It drains an area of 75.8 square miles (196 km2).Along with Bethlehem, Egypt, and Emmaus, Jordan Creek is one several Lehigh Valley locations whose name was inspired by locations referenced in the Bible.
