Lanark is a small unincorporated village located in Upper Saucon Township in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Lehigh Valley, the third-largest metropolitan area in Pennsylvania. Residents of Lanark are served by the Center Valley and Coopersburg Post Offices with ZIP Code of 18034 and 18036, respectively. Lanark is located in Southern Lehigh School District, and students in grades nine through twelve attend Southern Lehigh High School. The community was named after Lanark, Scotland.Located at the southeastern end of a pass over South Mountain, Lanark is a significant crossroads. Limeport Pike heads south, Vera Cruz Road heads southwest, Saucon Valley Road heads east, and Lanark Road heads southeast. Interstate 78 approaches from the northeast, Pennsylvania Route 309 from the southeast, and meet with Pennsylvania Route 145 in Lanark at a major interchange, all heading northwest over the mountain. This is the southern and eastern end of the I-78/PA 309 concurrency.

Owned by Lehigh Valley Public Media, it is a sister station to Philadelphia-licensed PBS member WPPT (channel 35). WLVT-TV's studios are located in the south side of Bethlehem, and its transmitter is located south of nearby Allentown atop South Mountain.

WPPT (channel 35) is a PBS member television station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is owned by Lehigh Valley Public Media alongside Allentown-licensed fellow PBS member WLVT-TV (channel 39). As WYBE, the station's transmitter was located in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia; in 2018, it entered into a channel sharing agreement with Allentown-based independent station WFMZ-TV (channel 69) and began operating from WFMZ's transmitter on South Mountain near Allentown. WYBE's main channel was previously carried in the New York City television market on the 66.4 digital subchannel of West Milford, New Jersey–licensed MHz WorldView affiliate WNYJ-TV.

WDIY (88.1 FM) is a community-run public radio station licensed to Allentown, Pennsylvania with studios in Bethlehem and a transmitter atop South Mountain. A member of NPR, the station serves the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, as well as parts of western New Jersey. WDIY has an air staff of over 90 volunteers and a professional staff of six employees, including an executive director. The station is licensed to the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association, Inc., a nonprofit organization whose mission "is to engage the Lehigh Valley community through a wide-ranging exchange of music, arts, news and culturally diverse information."

Saucon Creek is a 17.0-mile-long (27.4 km) tributary of the Lehigh River in Lehigh and Northampton counties, Pennsylvania, in the United States.Saucon Creek starts in Lower Milford Township, flows to the northeast passing through the communities of Limeport, Bingen, and Hellertown, and joins the Lehigh River in Bethlehem. It serves Salisbury Township. The district encompasses approximately 11 square miles (28 km2). As of the 2022–23 school year, the school district had a total enrollment of 1,490 students between all its four schools, according to National Center for Education Statistics data, which include Salisbury High School for grades nine through 12, Salisbury Middle School for grades five through eight, Arts Academy Charter School for grades five through eight, and Salisbury Elementary School for kindergarten through fourth grade. According to 2000 census data, the school district serves a resident population of 13,498. By 2010, The U.S. Census Bureau reported that Salisbury Township School District's resident population was 13,505 people. In 2009, the district residents’ per capita income was $28,073, while the median family income was $62,534. In the Commonwealth, the median family income was $49,501 and the United States median family income was $49,445, in 2010. By 2013, the median household income in the United States rose to $52,100. The educational attainment levels for the Salisbury Township School District population (25 years old and over) were 91.0% high school graduates and 28.9% college graduates.Salisbury High School students may choose to attend Lehigh Career and Technical Institute for training in the trades. The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit, IU21, provides the district with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Lehigh Valley College was a college owned by Career Education Corporation, a for-profit educational company. The college was located near Allentown, Pennsylvania, in Center Valley and offered associate degree programs in a variety of vocational areas, including criminal justice, graphic design and accounting.
