St Bede's College (Bentleigh East)

The Yarra Yarra Golf Club is a private golf club in Australia, located in Victoria at Bentleigh East, a suburb southeast of Melbourne. It is one of the eight Melbourne Sandbelt championship courses and is renowned for its par-3s. It has hosted the Women's Australian Open seven times as well as several editions of the Victorian Open. The club was formed in 1898 and the current course opened 94 years ago in 1929; it is named for the Yarra River. In the 1970s the club professional was Geoff Parslow. In 1977 he won the Victorian Open when it was held at Yarra Yarra. His surprise victory garnered much media attention; he defeated some of the world's best, including Greg Norman and Johnny Miller.

Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) is an aquatic centre that was developed by Hansen Yuncken and is owned by City of Glen Eira. It is a rival to Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre as it is contains a 50-metre outdoor pool, 25 metre indoor pool, water slides, leisure pools, gymnasium and a stadium. It was constructed at a total cost of $44m dollars, with significant contributions from Federal and Victorian State Governments. It is the first indoor pool in Glen Eira.

Moorabbin is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 15 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Moorabbin recorded a population of 6,287 at the 2021 census.Most of the eastern side of Moorabbin has been an industrial area since the first development in the mid-1960s. Major businesses with a presence in the area include Coca-Cola. Moorabbin is also well known locally for its residential area built after World War II.

Karkarook Park is a metropolitan park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located at the northwest corner of the southeastern suburb of Heatherton (formerly under Moorabbin), southeast of the intersection between Warrigal Road and Dingley Bypass, accessible to cars only via Fairchild Street on the south side. The park is a wetland reserve built around the Karkarook Lake, a 15 hectares (37 acres), 420 m (1,380 ft) wide artificial lake built from a pit created by sand mining between 1997 and 2001, filled in 2004 by groundwater pumped from a bore 500 metres (550 yd) to the southeast.

South Oakleigh College is a Victorian state co-educational secondary college serving Oakleigh and surrounding districts within the City of Monash in south eastern Melbourne, Australia. It is located on Bakers Road, near the intersection of Centre and Warrigal Roads, in Oakleigh South.

Oakleigh South is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 17 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Kingston and Monash local government areas. Oakleigh South recorded a population of 9,851 at the 2021 census.A largely residential suburb, its boundaries are North Road to the north, South Road to the south, Warrigal Road to the west and Huntingdale/Clarinda Roads to the east. Oakleigh South Post Office opened on 1 September 1936.

McKinnon Secondary College is a public secondary school located in the Melbourne suburb of McKinnon. The school was ranked 62nd in Victoria in terms of VCE median study score in 2012. In February 2022, the school opened a second campus located in Bentleigh East to be designated to Year 8 and Year 9 students. This new campus was officially dubbed the East Campus. Pizza Binnion, the principal, is retiring at the end of 2022, with Mr Korn becoming the new principal.

The electoral district of Bentleigh is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers an area of 25 square kilometres (9.7 sq mi) in southern Melbourne, including the suburbs of Bentleigh, Hampton East, McKinnon, and Moorabbin, and parts of Bentleigh East, Brighton East and Ormond. It also includes the Moorabbin campus of the Monash Medical Centre. It lies within the Southern Metropolitan Region of the upper house, the Legislative Council.Bentleigh has usually been seen as a key marginal seat, lying at the 'point of the pendulum' needed to change government. It is considered a bellwether seat in Victoria, having elected a member of the governing party in all but two elections of its existence. It was created in 1967 as a fairly safe Liberal seat during the height of the Victorian Liberals' popularity. It remained in Liberal hands until 1979 where the Liberals nearly lost their majority for the first time in just under three decades. For most of the time since then, it has been a marginal seat, and is part of the belt of marginal seats in eastern Melbourne that usually decide elections in Victoria. Labor then held the seat until the Kennett landslide of 1992. Following this, the seat was narrowly held by Inga Peulich until she was tipped out of office by Rob Hudson in the 2002 election. In the 2010 election the seat returned to the Liberals with Elizabeth Miller narrowly defeating Hudson. Bentleigh was actually the last seat to be decided, and Miller's victory allowed the Coalition to form government by one seat. In turn, Miller was ousted by Labor candidate Nick Staikos at the 2014 election. Staikos picked up a hefty swing of over 11 percent in Labor's landslide victory of 2018 and now sits on a majority of 61.9 percent, easily the strongest result for Labor in the seat's history.

The Metropolitan Golf Club is one of the renowned sandbelt courses of Melbourne and is widely recognised as one of the finest championship courses in Australia. It is located in Oakleigh South, in the city's south-eastern suburbs, approximately twenty minutes' drive from the CBD.
