The Birch Bay Waterslides is a water park in Birch Bay, WA operated by Global Management Amusement Professionals (GMAP) and owned by Jun Yu Development LLC. It is the only water park in Whatcom County and one of five in Washington State. The water park was built in 1985 amidst the wake of tourism from Canadians into Whatcom County, and is a big part of the community with many residents and tourists alike spend summer days there with their families. Homestead Northwest (the owners of Homestead Farms in Lynden), purchased the park in 2005. Homestead Northwest would file for bankruptcy sometime in 2011, and the park would be acquired sometime in 2011 by a Richmond, British Columbia based company operating under the name Jun Yu Development LLC. On August 25, 2023, an incident at the water park occurred. A man going down one of the slides known as “Hairpin”, when he ran into a broken splash guard panel and severely lacerated both of his legs. Eyewitnesses described the scene as “chaotic ” and “gruesome”. The park was sued, subsequently closed, stripped of its permits, and underwent renovations to address safety concerns. The park remained closed until June 2025 when it reopened after nearly two years and prepared to celebrate the 40th anniversary. In January 2025, it was announced that California based GMAP (Global Management Amusement Professionals) was hired to operate the Birch Bay Waterslides. The park would undergo a $1 million renovation during this time. In May 2026, the park announced it would be closed yet again for the 2026 season for unknown reasons. It was also announced that the park would be listed up for sale for $6 million.

Birch Bay is a protected bay of the east shore of the Salish Sea, between Semiahmoo Bay and Lummi Bay; approximately 100 miles (160 km) north of Seattle and 35 miles (56 km) south of Vancouver, BC, Canada. The bay gives its name to a census-designated place (CDP) along the bay's shore in Whatcom County, Washington, United States. The population was 8,413 at the 2010 census, a 69.6% increase over the 2000 census. Birch Bay was named in 1792 by Archibald Menzies, a member of the Vancouver Expedition. Vancouver's two ships used Birch Bay as an anchorage for several days. Menzies noted a number of species of birch and gave the name to the bay.

Blaine is a city in Whatcom County, Washington, United States. The city's northern boundary is the Canada–U.S. border; the Peace Arch international monument straddles the border of both countries. The population was 5,884 at the 2020 census. Since Blaine is located right on the border with Canada, it is the northernmost city on Interstate 5.

Blaine Municipal Airport (IATA: BWS, FAA LID: 4W6) was a city-owned public-use airport, also known as Dierks Field, located one nautical mile (1.8 km) east of the central business district of Blaine, a city in Whatcom County, Washington, United States. It was closed on December 31, 2008.

Blaine High School, established in 1906, is located in Blaine, Washington, United States, which is situated in the northwest corner of the state, adjacent to the Canada–US border. The school operates within the Blaine School District and serves approximately 639 students in grades 9-12. It is ranked 39th out of 539 high schools in the state. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement course work and exams. The AP participation rate at Blaine High School is 38%. The student teacher ratio of 19:1 is equal to the state average. The 80% graduation rate is higher than the state average of 77%. The school's spending/student of $10,218 is higher than the state average of $8,997.

Blaine Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 5.5 miles (8.9 km) south of Blaine, Washington. It was closed in 1979.

MV Plover is an 11-ton, 17-passenger ferry in Whatcom County, Washington, built in 1944, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. She is owned by the City of Blaine, Washington and operated by the nonprofit Drayton Harbor Maritime. She originally ferried workers from Blaine to the Alaska Packers' Association cannery at Semiahmoo Spit (now the site of Semiahmoo Resort), carrying out this function until 1964. She was restored by volunteers of Whatcom Maritime Historical Society, and now carries passengers during the summer months from the Blaine harbor dock across Drayton Harbor to the resort dock. At approximately 1 kilometer, this is claimed to be the shortest ferry run in Washington. She is the second oldest operating foot passenger ferry in Washington, next to Kitsap Transit's Carlisle II which was built in Bellingham 27 years earlier, in 1917.In 1998, the Plover restoration was recognized by the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation as demonstrating "the best of preservation practice" with a Valerie Sivinski Award for Outstanding Achievement in Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Projects.

Semiahmoo Resort is a golfing resort and spa overlooking Semiahmoo Bay, opposite Blaine, Washington, northwest of Bellingham in the northwestern coast of the United States. Set within 1,100 acres (450 ha), it lies on a long sandy spit in the northern part of Puget Sound near the Canada–US border. The name of the resort is from the Semiahmoo indigenous people in whose Salish language it is the word for "half moon" and describes the crescent shaped land the resort was built on.Semiahmoo Resort opened in 1987 and is home to the Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club, set further south of the sandy spit along the coast. The Semiahmoo golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and was voted the 6th best golf course in Washington state by Golfweek in 2011. The resort hosts the Jeff Coston Academy, a notable golf academy. The AAA four diamond hotel, located at Semiahmoo Point, has 198 deluxe guest rooms including 28 suites. The resort has become a popular residence for Americans who work for Vancouver area companies who are willing to commute across an international border due to the extreme housing costs in Vancouver.The hotel, restaurants and spa closed effective December 1, 2012. In June 2013, The Resort Semiahmoo LLC, a part of the Wright Hotels group of Seattle, Washington purchased the hotel for $19.5 Million. With $6 Million of planned renovations in place, the resort officially re-opened for limited operations on August 15, 2013. In January, 2014, the Pacific Northwest Resort began a $9 million renovation project. In the summer of 2016 the resort opened a beach activities center located in one of the existing cannery buildings. Operations are during summer months with hours from 11 am to 2pm Monday through Thursday and from 10 am to 5 pm Friday to Sunday.For years, the resort owned the Loomis Trail Golf Course, located approximately 4 miles east of the Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club. The Lummi Indian Business Council announced it had purchased the Loomis Trail Golf Course in October, 2018.

The Peace Arch Border Crossing is the common name for the Blaine–Douglas crossing which connects the cities of Blaine, Washington and Surrey, British Columbia on the Canada–United States border. I-5 on the American side joins BC Highway 99 on the Canadian side. Being the most direct route between the major cities of Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia, the crossing is the third-busiest on the border with up to 4,800 cars a day. Trucks and other commercial vehicles are prohibited from this location and use the Pacific Highway Border Crossing, which is 1.6 kilometres (1 mi) eastward.

The Pacific Highway Border Crossing connects the city of Blaine, Washington and the city of Surrey, British Columbia on the Canada–US border. Interstate 5/Washington State Route 543 on the American side joins British Columbia Highway 15 on the Canadian side. Since the 1970s, commercial vehicles driving directly between Blaine and Surrey have been required to use this route, one of the five busiest commercial US-Canada border crossings.

Douglas is a locality in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, just southeast and outside of the boundary of White Rock, that is the Canadian side of the Peace Arch Border Crossing between British Columbia and Whatcom County, Washington in the United States. Douglas is the location of the Peace Arch Provincial Park portion of the International Peace Arch Park, which it shares with Peace Arch State Park in Blaine, Washington. The community is named for Benjamin Douglas, an early pioneer and railroad surveyor.: 65 

Semiahmoo Spit is a spit that protrudes from the westernmost expanse of shore on Semiahmoo Peninsula between Semiahmoo Bay and Drayton Harbor off the coast of Blaine in Whatcom County, Washington state. The spit is home to Semiahmoo Park.
