Remicourt, Belgium

The 1983 Liège earthquake occurred on 8 November 1983 at 01:49 Central European Time, with an epicenter near Remicourt in Liège Province, Belgium. It had a body wave magnitude of 4.7, with a depth of around 14 km. A Modified Mercalli Intensity of VIII (severe) was observed. The event was followed by more than 10 aftershocks. 2 people died, 30 were injured and over 16,000 buildings were damaged. The cost of damages have been estimated at between 42 million and 75 million euros. It is the biggest earthquake to have ever occurred in Belgium since the 1938 Zulzeke earthquake.

Limont Castle (French: Donjon de Limont) is a 13th-century keep (donjon) in the ancienne commune of Limont, in the municipality of Donceel, Liège Province, Wallonia, Belgium. The keep, which served as the fortified residence for Robert de Limont, the first lord of the area, included a front entry raised to the second level (see image) to provide an extra security precaution in case of attack. Limont Castle is not directly associated with the Château de Limont, built in the 18th century roughly 850 metres (930 yd) northwest of the fortified tower, on land that was part of the estate.

The total area is 28.48 km2 (11.00 sq mi) which gives a population density of 122 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Aineffe, Borlez, Celles, Les Waleffes, and Viemme. The eponymous Faimes is a hamlet within Celles.

Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher (French pronunciation: ​[fɛks lə o klɔʃe]; Walloon: Fexhe-å-Hôt-Clokî) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher had a total population of 3,019. The total area is 19.25 km² which gives a population density of 157 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher, Freloux, Noville, Roloux, and Voroux-Goreux.

Horion-Hozémont is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Grâce-Hollogne, located in the province of Liège, Belgium. Horion-Hozémont was its own municipality until January 1, 1977 when it was merged with Grâce-Hollogne as part of the fusion of municipalities in Belgium. The hamlet of Cahottes was part of Horion-Hozémont until then, but was transferred to the Mons-lez-Liège district of the municipality of Flémalle. Horion-Hozémont's postal code is 4460.

The Hesbaye (French, French pronunciation: [ɛsbɛ]), or Haspengouw (Dutch and Limburgish, Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦɑspə(ŋ)ˌɣʌu]), is a traditional cultural and geophysical region in eastern Belgium. It is a loamy plateau region which forms a watershed between the Meuse and Scheldt drainage basins. Crisnée (French pronunciation: [kʁisne]; Walloon: Crusnêye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. It covers an area of 16.83 km2 and on 1 January 2013 had a total population of 3,094, giving a population density on that date of 184 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Crisnée, Fize-le-Marsal, Kemexhe, Odeur, and Thys. Crisnée is twinned with the commune of Sansais, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in western France.

Heers Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Heers) is a castle in Heers, Province of Limburg, Belgium. It was built in the 13th century. Of its many owners, among the most notorious was Raes van Heers (1418–77), who was defeated and driven into exile by Charles the Bold at the Battle of Brustem in 1467. The castle, and the town of Heers, were laid waste by Charles's troops, although the castle was eventually repaired after Raes' death by his widow. The family de Rivière d'Arschot lived here until the 18th century, when Barbara, daughter and heiress of the last Count, Henri de Rivière d'Arschot, became abbess of Herkenrode Abbey; on her death in 1744, the family became extinct. The castle has now (2010) again fallen into a derelict state.
