Fanson Castle (French: Château de Fanson) is a castle in the village of Xhoris in Ferrières, Liège Province, Wallonia, Belgium.

The Battle of Amblève took place in 716 near Amel. The mayor of the palace of Austrasia, Charles Martel, defeated his Neustrian and Frisian rivals who were led by King Chilperic II, his mayor Ragenfrid, and Redbad, King of the Frisians. It was the first major victory of Martel in a long career of victories. In this battle Martel began demonstrating the military genius which would mark the remainder of his life.

The total area is 34.05 km2 (13.15 sq mi) which gives a population density of 384 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Esneux and Tilff. Other villages are Méry and Hony. They are all to be found in the valley of the Ourthe river south of Liège. A railway line links the 4 villages (and then continues further south to Luxembourg). Although not popular with large numbers of international tourists, Esneux and Tilff do attract people from the local region, due to the local restaurants, the Esneux and Tilff castle, the bee-museum, and several parks. In Esneux, the largest giant sequoia of Belgium can be found.

The total area is 37.08 km² which gives a population density of 108 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Anthisnes, Hody, Tavier, and Villers-aux-Tours.

Ferrières (French pronunciation: [fɛʁjɛʁ] (listen); Walloon: Ferire) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Ferrières had a total population of 4,449. The total area is 56.90 km² with a population density of 78 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Ferrières, My (pronounced "Mee"), Vieuxville (including the hamlet of Sy), Werbomont, and Xhoris.

Rouvreux (Walloon: Rovreu) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Sprimont, located in the province of Liège, Belgium. It is named after the hamlet at its centre. The municipality consists of the following districts: Dolembreux, Gomzé-Andoumont, Louveigné, Rouvreux, and Sprimont. Other villages: Banneux, Damré, Florzé, Lincé, Ogné, Presseux, and Rivage. On January 1, 2006, Sprimont had a total population of 12,782. The total area is 74.2 square kilometres (28.6 sq mi) which gives a population density of 172 inhabitants/km2 (450 inhabitants/sq mi).
